The Green Day guy is not handling the "how do I continue my career in my mid 50s when my career is being an angry punky kid" as well as Eminem, who seems to be doing "I'm a big NFL fan who samples Steve Miller songs and still swears". It always seemed to me that Eminem was the more legitimately messed up of the two (he WAS raised as a poor black child while Armstrong was a suburban California pothead) so it surprises me.

This AI shit ... AI did this or that. AI is going to get us all. AI is the devil.
I have to come clean. I have also written code that allows "machines" to "think". Seriously - they'll turn a certain parameter - imagine it as a "volume knob" - up or down for you. It's called PI control - any of you that still work in a factory (I know) have seen these things, even if you don't know what they are. Get this - "AI" is just a bullshit name for tools - written using math - to smooth edges and "recognize" patterns in images. That shit got started - quite literally - about twenty years ago. AI my ass. Piss on Newsome. Might as well pass a law against most better photo-edit software. As if its better when a sexually ambiguous something in a studio drags a cursor over an image. Jack Ass. I only know a little about sailing, but it seems like the captain royally screwed the pooch and got people killed.
I would put the keel down EVERY night if in deep enough water. That way you have a daily safety test. If it doesn't work, then into port. If a storm is even a remote possibility close EVERY water-tight hatch. What little that has been reported so far sounds like "negligent discharge" level stupidity from the captain. Well I just came across an old stash from the days of NewsNet. You know, pre-graphics.
Here's PART 1 of a funny .... The Difference If You Marry a Canadian Girl Three friends married women from different parts of the world... The first man married a Asian girl. He told her that she was to do the dishes and house cleaning. It took a couple of days, but on the third day, he came home to see a clean house and dishes washed and put away. The second man married a Greek girl. He gave his wife orders that she was to do all the cleaning, dishes and the cooking. The first day he didn't see any results, but the next day he saw it was better. By the third day, he saw his house was clean, the dishes were done, and there was a huge dinner on the table. (cont.) PART 2
The third man married a girl from Canada . He ordered her to keep the house cleaned, dishes washed, lawn mowed, laundry washed, and hot meals on the table for every meal. He said the first day he didn't see anything, the second day he didn't see anything either but by the third day, some of the swelling had gone down and he could see a little out of his left eye and his arm was healed enough that he could fix himself a sandwich and load the dishwasher. He still has some difficulty when he pees. The only good news is he is no longer married to a Canadian woman. Posted by: Ciampino - NewsNet fun part 2 at September 23, 2024 11:45 PM (qfLjt) 320

Maura Healey, the Lesbionic governor of Massachusetts, turned the State Police into her personal bordello, before she shacked up with her current GF with three kids and a McMansion in Arlington.

Lesbionic sounds like the name of a cheap garage band amplifier from the 1970s. Posted by: Way Back When at September 24, 2024 04:07 AM (dg+HA) 387
At least there's beer here. And the hotel (Ritz-Carlton) has decent food. Last night I sat in the lobby reading and listening to classical piano live. Good times.
Off to work, don't burn down the place on the ONT. Posted by: BifBewalski ----------- Beer, music, and the Ritz. That does not sound like too much of a struggle. Have a good trip. Posted by: scampydog at September 24, 2024 04:08 AM (Sgsyb) 388
Up just ahead of the alarm (I got enough sleep, thanks to the esteemed law firm of Unisom & Melatonin), sipping coffee and a pipe of burley leaf while a young Loni Anderson appears in a bikini on a '76 Barnaby Jones. LIfe may not be idyllic, but it ain't bad just now.
