Of Course: The Deep State Ignored Multiple Warnings About the Assassin They Recruited and Set to Kill the President

Is it even a conspiracy when they're doing it right out in the open?

Apparently the left's Red Flag laws don't apply to their Manchurian Candidate killers.

Ryan Wesley Routh, accused of attempting to assassinate former President Donald Trump, had been flagged multiple times to law enforcement for his dangerous behavior prior to his arrest on Sunday. Despite multiple reports to the FBI, State Department, Customs and Border Protection, and Interpol about his "predatory" behavior, and having a firearm despite being a felon, no action was taken.
Key Details:
Chelsea Walsh, who encountered Routh in Ukraine, described him as "predatory" and reported him to Customs and Border Protection in 2022. Walsh also filed reports with the FBI and Interpol in 2023, telling the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) that neither Customs and Border Protection nor the FBI followed up on her reports.
Sarah Adams, a former CIA officer, described Routh as a "whack job" and "fraudster." Routh falsely claimed to be recruiting Afghan soldiers for Ukraine, sending messages on Signal and WhatsApp that were reviewed by the WSJ. These claims were denied by Ukrainian officials, and aid groups reported him to the State Department.
In 2019, Routh was also investigated by the FBI after a tipster reported that he possessed a firearm, despite being a convicted felon. According to an FBI official, the tip was initially taken seriously, but the investigation was ultimately closed when the individual who reported the information could not provide verification or further evidence.

I hope Ron DeSantis investigates the FBI, DOJ, DHS, and Secret Service. They're the real criminals here.

I'm going to wait on this one.

"Known to the FBI" has become a meme, but so is "everybody has an FBI file." Were the reports credible? Did the FBI investigate at all? If they did, what did they conclude?

There may be a bit of "if everyone is 'known' to the FBI, then the FBI doesn't know about anyone" thing going on. There is vast amounts of data on every man, woman and child in the world. How much of it can actually be used for the purpose of prediction? My bet is "very little." It's probably *very* useful in retrospect, but not beforehand.

Only in the context of their investigation into the shooter. Fedgov can refuse to answer where the investigation goes. The danger there is that DeSantis does have a certain thoroughness about himself, and he has a crack communications team. I'm guessing the leaks coming out just prior to the election would be highly damaging to the democrats across the entire election field. I'm thinking the feds will have to cooperate enough to stop him from doing that. Because Florida accuses FBI/CIA of planning to assassinate Trump headlines would be a real problem.

The thing I learned from an interview with a former FBI guy is that DHS, unlike the FBI and CIA, literally has no rulebook or procedural guidelines and pretty much has zero accountability or auditing and is free to do pretty much whatever it wants.

I have had some success with the geek squad at best buy. It may take an appointment but they were upfront about replacing the battery on my very old Iphone 6 a few years ago.

I had to replace an alternator recently. It took three "remanufactured" units from a box store before I got one that I would keeep.

Just had another thought, thanks to an Instapundit posting regarding "Turn The Page" on the incumbent.

Say Slow-Joe got hit by the 25th Amendment, and Harris is upgraded to actual President of the USA as a result. I had to go reading to see what then happens with the 22nd Amendment (limiting a president to 2 terms). Per Wikipedia, it sounds as if only partial terms of two years or more would count towards the total. So that wouldn't block a 'fifth' Obama term.

But we're in this nebulous state because Biden isn't acting as a full-time president, but they can't have Harris either because there's too many days for a crisis to happen in the world. After the election? Broken eggs for the never-omelette. But before? They don't trust her not to sink the campaign.

here's the idea. "Reassign" everyone in SS to other branches, ideally on Alaska's North Slope. Hire your own SS agents. Only in rare cases keep anyone previously in SS.

There was a huge effort early on to get anyone and everyone to volunteer for Ukraine. It partly waned when Russia put a missile in one of the training centers. If it was at that time in Spring 2022 it would make some sense. If it were later, not so much.

Copperheads weren't a big factor, something the South found out when they contacted them for 'direct action' and they backed out of anything. The most trouble they causes was when Military Gov Burnside in Ohio arrested a politician for sedition and caused a political pickle that Lincoln solved by sending him South. Eventually he snuck back in thru Canada and was ignored.
