It seems very unlikely Intel ever had a serious shot at producing the PS6 innards. While it is reasonably competitive on the CPU side, it's GPU IP, especially the version integrated with a CPU, is severely trailing AMD. Not as badly as a few years ago but it's still playing catch-up with where AMD APUs were when the PS5 launched in 2020. Nividia has much to offer on the GPU side but they're well behind Apple and Qualcomm on the ARM CPU side. They're only attractive if Sony is dead set on going to ARM. Even then, AMD (particularly the part of it that was once ATI) has a history with Qualcomm and could partner with them to keep Sony happy.
Trivia: an early Qualcomm SOC for mobile devices had what was essentially the Xbox 360 GPU for its own GPU. Going to ARM with a semi-portable similar to the Nintendo Switch seems like a possibility for a future Xbox product. Word has it that the hardware engineering for future Xbox models has been put under the Surface division. The same division that has been working closely with Qualcomm on ARM based Windows laptops. And what vicarious fun would it be for me, a watcher of such pursuits? Why would a suspect even race, not unless the drones could drop 'stuff' to catch him. Anyway by that time, and in such an intrusive AI scenario, the vehicle would have been incapacitated remotely. Posted by: Thing From Snowy Mountain at September 17, 2024 *** No, at a PJ's. CC's Coffee Houses (for Community Coffee, for those not familiar) have almost vanished around here. There is one near the Barnes & Noble in the suburbs, and one, I think, on my side of the river. But two in the Uptown shopping/residential area sank during the Sniffle Scare. One, which I miss, was near my work, in a grand old Victorian building that once housed a neighborhood pharmacy. The PJ's right near my house, which I pass every morning, opens at 5 am, so it's convenient too. Posted by: Wolfus Aurelius, Dreaming of Elsewhere at September 17, 2024 04:33 AM (omVj0) 29

It would be similar to tracking by helicopter, just far less costly and far more numerous. A helicopter isn't going to stop a fleeing car but it does allow the cops to coordinate where to spring the trap with spike strips and a small army of vehicles. A drone can be very difficult to spot from the driver's seat or even for a passenger. The suspect can be allowed to believe he's escaped and head for someplace where he'd stop and leave the vehicle. Wacky antics ensue. Posted by: Epobirs at September 17, 2024 04:39 AM (/0z9K) 32

Some say this all things started to unravel when Obama was elected. I personally think it happened when Clinton was elected. When people say the Democrat party is changed and it is something worse I keep wondering when did that change happen?
- Right after JFK, and for the same reasons we're seeing the inside attempts on Trump right now. The party didn't change. The government itself did. There were no Democrat or Republican differences through those years. Those are terms to make the movement left easier to swallow, with both "sides" working towards the same globalist goal and the only difference being speed. We've had anti-Americans at the helm for 40 years or so, and in 2016 the mask got accidentally removed in an election where the machine hadn't properly prepared sufficient fraudulent votes to cover. It's why Trump (and we) are so hated right now. A once-again great America is a threat to their plans, and they'll do anything they need to in order to stop it. I have an egg story. One of my parishioners prays for a job for my son which I really appreciate. Yesterday they sent along some info about a job. It was a job about handling eggs in Georgia. I'm not sure why she thought a degree in horticulture would be a good fit for him but it made me laugh.

Still working, but . . . Seeing this nic always reminds me of the story of a 16th-century Scots clan chief, a rough, hard, no-frills fellow who once took his grandson out to hunt. When they made camp for the night, the grandson wrapped his tartan around him and pushed together a ball of snow to use as a pillow. The grandfather saw this, kicked the snow away and growled, "Ill have no effeminacy here, boy." Back to work. I will tell you a Jose Andres story that I guarantee you no one else knows. He is a hard-core leftist, and that is a shame because he was a great cook and a great ambassador for Spain.
So I went to one of his restaurants in Virginia and they would have a happy hour with discounted beers and certain tapas, etc. He would offer one supercheap beer during happy hour at a discounted price. The beer he used was Yeungling. It is a low price beer, a good beer, but low priced. Posted by: Verlan at September 17, 2024 07:17 AM (sJvjL) 125

So all of a sudden, Andres heard that Yingling supported President Trump. He decided he will never sell Yuengling again in his restaurants. I remember the day they locked the Yuengling tap, And said there would be no discounted beer for happy hour.
The Point I am making is he locked off Yuengling as a political statement, But being a cheap ass bastard, He said there would be no discount beer at all, although he had several types of Spanish beer. To me, it was the perfect encapsulation for what a jag off he is. Stand by your political views, But then don’t cheap out and tell your patrons there is no discounted beer when you have several other beers available. If you don’t get what I’m saying, I’m saying it wrong, Personally, I think it is the best example of how horrible Andres and the left are. Not only anti American, but cheap as well.
