BREAKING: Trump’s would-be assassin has walked into the courtroom laughing while being “shackled by his hands and feet.” Routh has been charged with “possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number.” The judge says Routh could face up to “20 years in prison and half a million dollars in fines.” Fox News reports that additional federal charges are possible, but the charges presented today “will keep him in jail.” During the hearing, Routh told the judge he “only makes about $3,000 a month” and has no assets other than “two trucks in Hawaii.” The sheriff stated that when Routh was arrested, “his demeanor was perplexing.” Officers had stopped his vehicle at gunpoint and ordered him out, and despite the seriousness of the situation, his “demeanor was perplexing in some way,” even though there were “numerous people out with rifles, uniformed personnel, a helicopter.” Posted by: andycanuck (CEzQx) at September 16, 2024 06:05 PM (CEzQx) 79
The Vigilant Fox 🦊 @VigilantFox 5h
Court documents revealed that Routh was driving a car with stolen plates at the time of his arrest. After fleeing the scene, “officers were able to pull him over and arrest him on I-95.” Additionally, it was noted that “Routh’s mobile phone was detected in the area” from 2:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. the day before his arrest. Routh is currently being held in the Palm Beach County Jail and is expected to appear in court for his next hearing on Monday, September 23. Well, it's somewhat past the cocktail hour here in Kentucky. Got a steak the wife and I are going to share and some of her home-grown potatoes (the only things that survive this miserable summer.)
Pulled out my only Opus X cigar (a high end cigar that I pissed away money on and will now burn.) Had several hundred dollars of plumbing work done. So... my fuck-it-all meter is pretty well pegged. Posted by: Martini Farmer at September 16, 2024 06:12 PM (Q4IgG) 104
You know why I'm not buying this guy's "craziness?" Because it's quite obvious he planned on getting away with his assassination, whereas Crooks knew it was a suicide mission. Is he deranged? Yes, he is as deranged and violent as your typical leftist. Mentally incompetent to know right from wrong? Absolutely not. And he's not suicidal. Posted by: 18-1 at September 16, 2024 06:07 PM (oZhjI) Ridiculous on their part. If they would have just said ‘ sure my full name is so and so and here’s my identification’ it would have put the guy on his heels for a second and they could have preceded . Wouldn’t have gotten anywhere likely but they wouldn’t have come off as arrogant assholes. Also they could have also replied that it is also part of their constitutional duties to protect elected officials and that they weren’t there to discuss his free speech rights but whether he is a danger. 101 Mark Steyn's take on Springfield:
"We know why the Continentals put up with this. Because, as Americans are wont to jeer, they're the Euro-pussies, the cheese-eating surrender-monkeys, etc. Why then do the big butch Yanks string along with surrendering their country one "community" (Springfield, Aurora, Lewiston-Auburn, Dearborn, Minneapolis...) at a time? Right now America is on course to die as the world's largest Latin-American favela. Is that in the Constitution? Or even stapled on the Statue of "Liberty"?" Posted by: julian the apostate at September 16, 2024 06:12 PM (doIdH) That's obviously the correct take. Springfield was under 60k people; they've added something like 12-15k Haitians. Yeah, I had to look up "pleonasm --Noun 1. Redundancy in wording." ... But there are also figures of speech, that give emphasis. "Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. but all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will." One and the selfsame is redundant, but a figure of speech to give emphasis. (I'd have to check Bullinger for exactly what figure of speech that is) I somehow thought Libs of TikTok was female?
