Good morning, good people. A fun weekend planned of removing 2 items from their safe storage places for cleaning and maybe using one at the range. I refer to the 2 revolvers of Civil War provenance, one documented the other not. Both rigorously inspected by an extremely competent gunsmith and deemed shootable with mild loads. Already shot the undocumented one, I love holding a bit of my country's history.

There will be potato and mac salad plus burgers on toasted sourdough, also the obligatory steak. No matter if it rains, I sneak the grill under the soffits, they're 4 feet deep and make great shelter if the wind isn't too strong. Most all the houses here are similar, we generally get enough snow to justify them. I look at downtown where the houses are crammed together and they're a nightmare when we get a good snowfall. There is no place to put the stuff.

Here is a chat regarding the shroud. Very long, but worth every minute. https://tinyurl.com/mstu274b Fascinating stuff. And they are all spouting the jargon. Same thing happened at my company. Senior staff was forced out by our parent company and replaced with all white women. They immediately started explicitly cheering for DEI during company meetings. Posted by: Ian S. at August 30, 2024 06:57 AM (AvTXt) 113

Thanks D. One thing I think I recall was that even when the carbon-14 dating supposedly dated the shroud to much later than the time of Christ was there was pollen dating to that time found on the cloth.
Posted by: Farmer, with my own historical take at August 30, 2024 05:16 AM (55Qr6) Another issue with the Carbon14 dating is that there was a fire at the church it was kept in at one point in it's history. This can affect the results of the carbon dating. Posted by: Polliwog the 'Ette at August 30, 2024 09:59 AM (s9EYN) Processing 0.02, elapsed 0.0257 seconds. |
