It's easy to feel optimistic about the rollback of DEI insanity in corporations and, surprisingly, even universities. Has America finally awakened to the existential danger of government and corporate America seeing the world through the prism of race and sex and gender and ethnicity and...?

But...the progressive left is absolutely marvelous at subterfuge when they can't get their way legally. All of those DEI managers and assistant deans will go somewhere, and most of them will continue their work of dismantling American Exceptionalism and the concept of merit. They'll just do it more carefully and far more quietly. The general template is splashed across the headlines in pretty much every contentious political or social debate: ballot harvesting, abortion, environmental nonsense, transgender lunacy, and much more.

When there is conservative push-back that they judge to be too widespread, they simply go underground. And they are good at it! Homosexual Incorporated has infiltrated our schools, hiring decisions are mostly controlled by blue-haired cat ladies who are "allies" with every pressure group on earth except for the competent ones, school curricula are decided by a cabal of those blue-hairs, woke publishing managers, and leftists are embedded like ticks in our education system.

And they have almost total support from their lackeys in the media!

Why rolling back diversity programs shows pure cowardice

The trick for traditional America is to keep our eye on the prize, but we have demonstrated over the past 60 years that we are incapable of that. Unless we keep the pressure on, via our votes and how we spend our money, DEI and a dozen things just as destructive will creep back in to our culture. Look at University of California v. Bakke! That was 1978, and it eviscerated affirmative action. The Academy promptly found other ways to get what they wanted.

The fight never ends, and it is time for traditional America to realize that.

57 I've been thinking about the recent arrest of a taxpayer for complaining about town employee salaries in AZ and I think this is a reflection on just how corrupt and insane government employees have become.

At my private sector job my boss can talk about my salary with finance or his higher ups whenever he wants, and salary is a major discussion point in any business - everyone wants to get the highest producing employees for the least amount of money...and this is even true for individuals hiring contractors of course.

But holy government workers? Their salaries and full compensation are for some reason sacrosanct and have nothing to do with performance in any measurable way.

I had a recent experience with a bunch of DEI types in a NY law firm. In the end I walked away from tens of thousands of dollars because the risk of them fvcking up was so great the award wasn't worth the risk.

When I can hear children playing in the background I knew the woman was working out of her own home. She wanted my SS number and was able to pull up sensitive information about my case on her home computer. Screw that shit. I want employees back in the office, with an IT guy in charge of the network.

The Indian guy (dot) at this firm even accidentally sent a link to my sister who pulled this extremely sensitive information of my case up on her computer. She may make formal complaint with some govmint agencies. She does that stuff as easily as breath.

This shit is gonna bite them in the ass and they have only themselves to blame. / end rant

The EPA serial shitter also comes to mind or the guy that played being a spy on taxpayer money working for the EPA.

Grandfather was head of personnel of a certain agency way back in the 70's. Even then, he admitted it would take roughly one year to remove someone.

However, HR is a different story. It is populated by the blue hairs. When I need to hire someone I do the HR checkbox, saying to them here is who I’m looking for. But I have never hired anyone they found for me. Because it’s always someone incompetent who checks the right boxes. I interview them then go see shucks sorry HR I’m going to hire so and so that I saw on LinkedId instead.

Not new. There have been periodic ad campaigns for WNBA (at least in NYC) over the years that features the players all dolled up in sexualized poses like 1990s swimsuit additions. I was like "who is this supposed to appeal to? Lesbians?"

In the corporate world I could see there was NEVER an upside to trying to check Big Gay. Yes early on some time you could oppose the latest Big Gay crap without getting disciplined but it made you enemies and often embracing it would get you rewarded.

You actually saw action back and forth, and nice shots - Federer brought the men's tennis game back from the brink (serve AND volley - somehow it could be done again), and then Nadal and Djokovic helped it take off again...

Sounds like vaporware to me. Most batteries have to contain some liquid so ions can migrate. Modern batteries have that reduced to a thing film of paste, so they are effectively "solid", anyway.

We have had hundreds of "breakthrough" battery designs over the years, but few of them ever come to market.

Right now, we have a young big 3 (Fritz, Shelton, Paul), but they still haven't cracked the big time and won any slams...they are getting close (and they are cute), but not close enough...

Whereas, we've had great women consistently in those decades...1st the Williams sisters, then Jess Pegula and Sofia Kenin picking up the mid period, and now Coco Gauff. We've always had a woman who COULD win a slam, so someone who goes deep and can be followed and keep viewers eyeballs on US screens.

Of any kind, if you're caught. And theft comes in different forms. For instance; there was a woman at a high GS level who claimed to be working her full shift. However she would take off around 11AM and go work at another job... an animal shelter IIRC. So, she got paid to be at the shelter AND got paid her salary... until someone ratted her out.

So, this woman was not only canned, she's on the hook for some amount of money the government paid her for work she didn't do.

And she's in prison for it too. Or was. Someone my wife knows. Both of used to work at the facility this took place, but not at that time.

You are correct. I'm the rare woman that watches a ton of sports. College football and golf are my favorites.

Do I watch women's sports? Nah. Maybe at the Olympics I watch gymnastics and track and field, but otherwise, no. I'd never watch the WNBA. Glacially boring basketball with a bunch of angry lesbians beating up the "normals"? Count me way out.

I think this new battery is vaporware.

As for that pipe he was brandishing at the start of the Maher interview, that's a calabash, and in my opinion as a pipe smoker, it makes 99% of people holding one look like a poser. I had one, and I traded it. He'd have done better to get a smaller pipe, a briar for instance.

I think this is a serious misunderstanding of history. I'm not aware of *any* society that has reached this point and recovered. Ever. Literally not a single one I can think of.

All of them either got paved over by invaders, limped through dark ages to return as a shadow of their former selves, or splintered with only some fraction remaining that has any continuity.

We're going to have a mix of all of that. I think the odds of us doing a "drive the moors out of Spain, but 10 times larger" are about zero. If there is a recovery it will be geographically restricted, and will take 2-3 generations minimum. Look at what places like Detroit looked like a century ago and think hard about what it would take to return to that level of prosperity and function.

Most likely you're looking at building up new cities, not rebuilding the destroyed/overrun/half abandoned ones.
