Thing is, a lot of folks, mainly boomer-types, didn't get that it was satire, and the tweet went viral and blew up. Click through and read some of the replies. They're hilarious. It even filtered down to the younger generation, who have started to meme it. ![]() It's OK To Be White The Problem with White People White people don’t exist. Ruminations on racial identity politics. Populism Cultural Warfare and Populist Uprising: Josh Hammer and Chip Roy Clash with the Uniparty on the WarRoom The rise of populism is portrayed as a natural response to the perceived failures of the political establishment. Hammer describes the New Right as an uprising that refuses to “sit and take it anymore.” This movement is characterized by a willingness to engage in political combat and adopt governmental tactics that aim to restore a sense of equilibrium and sanity to the nation. Hammer references Antonio Gramsci, an Italian Marxist theorist who spoke of a “Long March through the institutions.” According to Hammer, this march is nearly complete, with the left having gained control over key cultural and political institutions. The populist movement, therefore, represents a counterforce to this leftward shift, seeking to reclaim control and restore traditional values. The clash between populism and the uniparty is not just a battle for political power but a fight for the soul of the nation. Hammer and Roy argue that the current political climate requires a robust response from those who value Western civilization and its foundational principles. As Hammer puts it, “The key point is that Abraham Accord style National interest. Forum policy will actually allow America to strategically pull back from the region.” This statement reflects a broader desire among populists to pursue policies that prioritize national interests and restore America’s standing in the world.I've always been a bit leery of the politics of populism, mainly because it is especially vulnerable to being hijacked by fringe people, such as the antisemitism that has taken root among some of the “new right”, but it seems to be the direction politics is going these days, and a populism focused on restoring traditional values seems to be the only thing opposing the left anymore. Raise Your Hand If You're Surprised Florida anti-Trump online activist arrested over child s—x and bestiality crimes A Pinellas County, Fla. man has been arrested and charged for allegedly possessing child s—x abuse content featuring children as young as three months, sexual activity involving animals and possessing meth. Robert Roy Kalkofen has been charged with 10 counts of sexual activity involving animals, 30 counts of possession of child p—rnography, resisting an officer and possession of meth.I think we're missing a big opportunity to brand the Democraps as the “party of perverts”. On Fraud And Our Elections Fear And Despondency Now none of this is what I want, of course. I want it to topple fast. I want for our voting to be restored to a semblance of sanity — if it takes purple fingers, one day of voting, paper ballots? So be it and about time — and for us to kick the small minority of cultural invaders (Marxists. The illegal incomers are a large minority) raping our polity to be thrown down and their illusions of superiority cast into the trash heap of history. There is a very small chance. A miracle. And we can do it. If there were no chance, they wouldn’t have taken a potshot at Trump. (Uh Uh. Just a lone nut. Yeah. I’ll buy that. Except no, I don’t. As one of my writer friends put it, the only way to get not only that much incompetence but total lack of interest in investigating is if it was orchestrated. Sorry not sorry.) If there were no chance, they wouldn’t have replaced the corpse with the puppet on the ticket (and I still say Biden will die in October. I’ll explain why in a moment.) And they wouldn’t be Cone-Of-Silencing Trump so hard. AND they wouldn’t be working their fear and despondency brigades quite so hard, either. Guys, PLEASE follow the bouncing ball as I unpack the situation: the only chance we have to bring this to a soft landing in my lifetime is to win in November. This is almost impossible due to fraud.Party Of Perverts White Dudes For Having Some Personal Dignity And Self-Respect In one of the least surprising developments of all time, this week’s White Dudes for Kamala Zoom call was a festival of estrogen where a bunch of weirdos, losers, mutations, sissies, whiners, dorks, geeks, and other key sub-sections of the Democrat Party gathered in the electronic ether to humiliate themselves at the feet of their mediocre candidate. That was no surprise. I didn’t check out enough of it to see if they started with a land acknowledgment or if they reassured some of the men participating that it was understood that some of them menstruate because every second I watched, I felt the testosterone draining from my body. Feel Good Story Of The Day Mom burnt 13-year-old daughter's rapist alive after cruel taunt upon jail release María del Carmen García's daughter Verónica was raped when she was 13 years old at knifepoint by her neighbor Antonio Cosme in 1998. After serving nine years in prison for the crime, he was released in June 2005. On the day of his release, he approached María at a bus stop near her home outside of the city of Alicante, in the southeastern region of Valencia. Cosme reportedly taunted his victim's mother, asking "how her daughter was," and made his way to a local bar the family frequented. María reportedly went on to purchase a container of fuel at a nearby petrol station before entering the bar, pouring gasoline over his head and setting him ablaze. Good. Meanwhile, in Ukraine:
1. The long awaited F-16s are supposedly now in country. A picture of an F-16 decoy for the Russians to blow up has already been published, which shows how much faith the Ukrainians have in their air defense. 2. The Ukrainians may soon have a referendum on whether they will allow the Russians to keep the territory they have captured. This jaw dropping idiocy is a prelude to offering to negotiate with the Russians. Why the Russians would want to quit now and allow NATO time to rearm the Ukrainians is unclear. 3. The new national sport in Ukraine is committing arson on the vehicles used by the Army press gangs. Around 40 have been destroyed so far. Deadpool And Wolverine
I am home. I got out of my apartment. I'm finally willing to admit I fucking hate going to the movie theater! I have thoughts. Nothing deep. This is the first Marvel Studios movie I've seen since the last Avengers movie five years ago. I rewatched the first two before seeing this and its continuous diminishing returns. First one was best. Second was better than I remembered but still not nearly as good. This one mostly gets by on Hugh Jackman's and Ryan Reynolds' charisma. There's a story, sure, but it mostly feels like an excuse for a movie with nothing to say. The reason the first movie was good was Morena Baccarin. Without her these movies are largely pointless. She gets less screen time in the third one than in the second one. Shit tons of cameos with actors from other 20th Century Fox Marvel movies. That was actually kind of cool. Chris Evans even shows up but not as Captain America. There was one sequence that I enjoyed that was nothing but references to some of the comics. In particular, the cover of Uncanny X-Men that has Wolverine crucified on a giant X. I must admit, that was cool. But in other words, TONS of fan service./1 Posted by: Robert at August 01, 2024 10:25 PM (1Yy3c) 95

No nudity. Tons of foul language and gore but I guess Disney said no tits and/or ass. Bummer. Bizarrely, *lots* of homoerotic humor. I'm not kidding, it's wall to wall homoeroticism. It's really weird and mostly unfunny. Sure, *some* of it was funny but it's way overused. It gets to the point that all the gay humor is meant to imply Deadpool is himself gay.
Going back to my newfound hatred of theaters, but I sat next to a couple that I'm 99% certain was fucked up on *something*. They laughed and giggled at just about everything. I had seriously considered moving seats at one point. They just annoyed me. This has nothing to do with the movie but afterwards I went to take a very long piss...and yes, that's a relevant detail...but while I was standing there taking care of bidness two guys came thru who stood at the corner urinal with their back turned so no one could peek. It's not the first time I've seen this behavior but seriously? Dude, no one wants to look at your dick. Pop into the stalls if you're so afraid. It was okay. It was entertaining enough as you're watching it. It doesn't leave much impression after you're done with it. It's fine./fini Posted by: Robert at August 01, 2024 10:26 PM (1Yy3c) 97

Venezuela's election didn't turn out quite like Maduro claims it did
https://is.gd/FCbkPK Anaida Poilievre, Special to National Post How Venezuela’s opposition outfoxed socialist dictator Nicolás Maduro ... This happened through a well-coordinated effort led by María Corina Machado. She mobilized an entire nation, with more than seven million voters showing up for Edmundo González and about 3.2 million for Maduro. The slogan “hasta el final” (until the end) has become a rallying cry for a nation determined to see through its fight for a brighter future. Machado’s clever planning on election night was a game-changer. Each voting machine works like a cash register: when it closes, it prints and sends out a receipt called an “acta” with a unique code, a QR code, and an e-signature. Scrutineers sign the actas and are entitled to a copy. The opposition, more united and organized than ever before, mobilized tens of thousands of scrutineers to oversee the election process across the country. This time, they were ready. They swiftly collected and uploaded the actas online, creating robust proof of the true vote count. ... Posted by: Grumpy and Recalcitrant at August 01, 2024 10:41 PM (O7YUW) 146
White people, for as long as I have been alive, 1982 — present, have long struggled with this above-stated challenge. What exactly is it about them they need to defend or explain or apologize for or repent over or embrace or denounce that makes them ‘white?’
It is just a short way of saying "class enemy" after all. Class enemies either accept their position of having to submit and apologize for their existence, or they become prey. Posted by: Kindltot at August 01, 2024 10:42 PM (D7oie) 147
Here's my take, for what it's worth: Kamalalal is not particularly bright. While she's not dumb, she isn't a hard enough worker to make up for her mediocre intelligence. So she found "shortcuts" to gain undeserved power and prestige like, her affair with Willie Brown (without him, she probably would be "of counsel" at someplace like Kelly Drye & Warren). She bent whatever remaining scruples she had left to the whims of the California democrat party and now has ridden that sell-out to a place where she simply cannot maintain the facade, even with the help of the all-in media. She will be exposed and embarrassed on an international stage ( yet tens of millions will still vote for her). I almost feel sorry for her.

The privations and sufferings of the early South Pole expedition teams are almost beyond belief. I grew up in South Dakota so I know a little about cold weather. I don't believe I could ever have withstood what the members of those expeditions did. Shackleton's book is great, so is Scott's diary, and I also highly recommend reading "The Worst Journey In the World," by Apsley Cherry-Garrard. He was a junior officer in Scott's polar attempt. Scott and four others of that expedition lost their lives on their return journey from the Pole, after sadly reaching it a month later than Amundsen did. Shackleton saved every man both in his 1908 close approach to the South Pole, and losing his ship to ice.
The later trip, starting in 1914, involved shlepping across the ice shelf, a open ocean voyage to Elephant Island, then to South Georgia Island with one nautical sight in the worst waters of the world. He landed on the south side of the island, then did the first traverse of terrible mountains and glaciers to get help. It took more than one attempt to get the remaining crew off Elephant Island, in 1916. Compare and contrast to Scott. Posted by: NaCly Dog at August 01, 2024 11:38 PM (u82oZ) 241

Went uptrend. Very glad to see Shackleton is not forgotten by the Horde.
His book South is full of British understatement. To me, getting within 112 miles of the South Pole in 1908, but calculating how much food he had left, and turning around to save the team, is a very unappreciated story. He was a great leader. He chose his team over fame, unlike Scott. Posted by: NaCly Dog at August 01, 2024 11:42 PM (u82oZ) 246

So wait a minute. You poke a few holes into an eggplant, you roast it, you let it cool a bit then you slice it, removing the 'meat'. That goes into a food prossessor with tahini, lemon juice and all the other good shit. Then you pulse that mix a few times. No offense but what was difficult?
Posted by: RickZ at August 02, 2024 12:13 AM (gKDq2 Shit. I own a nice Cuisinart food processor. I did the whole thing with a crappy spatula and a fork for the eggplant and a table knife to mix the tahini. It took forever. I can't believe I didn't think of the damn Cuisinart. But I think you need a good, fine strainer no matter what. So you can press the liquid out and not use so much tahini for thickening. Laura Loomer
@LauraLoomer I was talking to a friend of mine in Beverly Hills who told me that Kamala Harris’s husband Doug Emhoff allegedly got his daughter’s elementary school teacher pregnant while he was still married… Has anyone else in California heard this? I have heard this from 5 people now. I was also told by a Democrat source that Politico was brought this story a while back, but decided to shelve the story to protect Kamala Harris…. Secret love children aren’t good for campaigns. Word on the street in Los Angeles is that the woman and the child now live in New York and @KamalaHQ has pressured @DouglasEmhoff to keep it hidden for the sake of her political career. Watching women's bowling vs. men's bowling is like watching men's soccer vs. women's. Okay, bad analogy. But anyway, it's the difference in power. When I bowled and won a city team trophy, it was about the exlosive power of the ball. I remember well those strikes I threw which were so powerfully perfect it was a wall of pins flying off the lane at once -- in an instant. No bouncing off walls, no spinning pins lingering on the lane, and defintiely no wobbly leaners which topple, no, just a perfect pocket hit with massive power that lifted the pins off en masse and gone. Pure power roll. I really never saw a female bowler who had that ability. Posted by: RickZ at August 02, 2024 12:41 AM (gKDq2) 333

I am moved to comment chiefly in regard to the final image on the ONT (Is that what you call it? Werner is not sure.) It is such a powerful and uplifting image (there are wings, you see, and...anyway) that my Teutonic soul resonates with its beautiful. A man of faith, a monk, has resolved to seek a noble death by means so exotic that only a poet might find the means of describing them Were I only a Schiller or a Goethe, perhaps I might limn them in a fashion that was suitable. Alas, I work in Hollywood.
The monk, whom I shall call Chumbawamba, even though he does not arise again when the indifferent vicissitudes of gravity bludgeon him with the ground, assumes wings like those of Icarus but with the intent to flip the Greek feathery man the bird. As his brother monks watch in admiration, Chumbawamba laughs at the uncaring universe. This is a man who has gazed into the abyss, and knows that when you stare into the abyss, the abyss becomes embarrassed and can only offer a "Yo, playa, what up" to dispel the awkward silence. This was strange. Peace, Werner out for the rizzle dizzle. Says Snoop this anymore? Posted by: Werner Herzog Is Learning About Memes at August 02, 2024 01:17 AM (tmPIh) 348

Put like that, human seems quite mundane. Although they did comport themselves quite well in Tolkien's stories. I think my favorite character arc is King Theoden. Posted by: AmericanKestrel at August 02, 2024 02:55 AM (YHTux) 375
Blades are mostly carbon fiber/resin composite. Use convict labor to cut them into tiles. Reasonably flat tiles could be sold locally for roofing material. The sharply curved bits could blended into the feed for coal-fired power plants.
Posted by: Alberta Oil Peon at August 02, 2024 12:21 AM (piB20) you could plant trhee of the blades fairly close together with the trailing edges converging but not touching at an angle, with a perforated pipes going through the low pressure area generated via the coanda effect sucking air up through the pipes and the small wind generator at ground level. not the best wind generator, but the blades are free, a small wind generator is cheap, and they are rigid enough to support themselves. The three blades mean that you have decent wind coverage from most directions. Posted by: Kindltot at August 02, 2024 02:57 AM (D7oie) 376

The Shackleton advert above reminds me of the opening narration of one of the Paladin Have Gun -- Will Travel episodes. We hear Paladin's voice: "I need six men. The job may take two days or two weeks. The men we'e after are desperate and dangerous. They've stolen a piano." And no, it's not a comic episode! Dreams? I dreamed that I woke up in a two-story house where I apparently lived with Miss Linda and an older woman who seemed to be her mother, though this lady looked nothing like L.'s real mother. The peculiar thing is that my bedroom and bathroom were very much like my current ones. It was three a.m. and I needed to get ready for work, just as I do now. First my LED flashlight seemed to be on the fritz. And the two women were chattering happily downstairs about some event they wanted me to drive them to that night. I called, "Turn on my coffee!" and started using a plunger to clear the clogged toilet. (Tho clog? Three little pink rubber things that looked like cartoon bombs.)
Of course when I got downstairs the coffee wasn't even started and I was going to run late. Then I woke up and was startled to realize it *wasn't* actually three a.m. Posted by: Wolfus Aurelius, Dreaming of Elsewhere at August 02, 2024 03:20 AM (omVj0) 382
Miss Linda brought over two issues of the Washington Examiner from 7/17 and 7/24. This appears at first glance to be a conservative answer to Time. The 7/24 has Trump on the cover, holding his fist up after being shot, and the headlined article (by Byron York) is "Trump Before and After." I skimmed the article, and it has a sympathetic portrait of DJT. Also in the issue is an editorial, "Biden's Worst Idea Yet," about F. Joke's crazy notion of national rent control.
After decades, especially the last one, of the usual "Repubs are evil" mantra in magazines, this is a breath of cool, conditioned air in a heat wave. Posted by: Wolfus Aurelius, Dreaming of Elsewhere at August 02, 2024 03:33 AM (omVj0) 383
