Man dies parachuting on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon GRAND CANYON, ARIZ. - A man died at Grand Canyon National Park after attempting the high-risk parachute leap from Yavapai Point on the South Rim, the park said Friday.
The park did not name the person who died Thursday morning because it was still awaiting positive identification and needed to notify his family.
Perhaps the father is thinking, "Did he really die with his head up his ass?"

Am adjuster IRL. I'd say as long as it's a first party claim on your own HO insurance it would be covered unless specifically excluded. Less deductible of course.
On the other hand if the claim was against a plumber - third party - who may have recently done work on the valves, then it could get a little trickier. If damages were substantial, then engineering company may want to do a forensic test on the valves to determine if manufacturer defect or shoddy workmanship.
Sometimes policies exclude shoddy workmanship.

Prayers up CMM. It's nerve-wracking. Two years ago we got a level 1 order. We packed the car and Mrs. Sock headed to our daughter's. I stayed. 20 mph winds blowing the fire right at us. A highway and one ridge between us and the fire. Half hour after she left the wind did a 180 and started blowing the fire back into the burnt area. At midnight it started raining and rained hard for two days. We get rain like that in August about once every 20 years. I pray you receive God's protection as we did.

Beasts of the Southern Wild was a really fascinating look at the people who live in places like that. There’s actually a serious point to be made here. Multicultural societies work ONLY when there is some powerful external force ready and able to use force to oppress the various fragments equally. Lebanon (and the rest of the Mideast) have always been ruled by Empires, not by themselves. The writer of that one was pissed off that nobody seemed to realize it was supposed to be a comedy / spoof on the action spy genre. I say if you write a “comedy” and not one single person laughs at anything you wrote, you did a really piss poor job,
I rate Eiger Sanction as basically a bad movie made watchable , even fun, by a really stellar cast.

My adult son has a Jeep SUV with only 35000 miles on it.
It wasn't running right, so he took it to a Jeep dealer/ repair shop in Phoenix. He had a summer job out there.
400 acorns under the hood. Squirrel also chewed on the wiring insulation & the rubber hoses. It's now being transported back to the STL area for repairs.
He has Comprehensive coverage with Allstate, but we feel like we're in uncharted territory. So bizarre.
Remember whenever you gas up, always check under the hood for squirrels.

Damned good advice. I almost lost a then-new GMC truck to underhood rodents. I'd been so impressed by the fusebox, snap-connected, airtight and water-tight. The mouse was, too.
It was warm in there, even in winter. Great place for a nest, so why not start a family? Something didn't click one day, and I got interested. A few more days and it would not have been salvageable. Wrote that one up for the car club newsletter.

After he got out of the ambulance corps in WW 2 he went to the U of Texas which is where he learned to ride a horse. Wasn't too much of that as one of the few Jewish families in Brooklyn where he grew up. I've always liked him . He seemed like a "normal " guy for an actor .

I'm back from LV a few hours early. I missed Hat; he was unavailable until abut 5:00PM today, and I was soon to board a plane.
Uber works well in LV. Quick response, almost everything is close by. Plan on $15-$20 plus tip for most local rides. I susoect cabs would be $30+; if they're "there", no wait, but cost ... I like Uber.
The one truly interesting thing to report is the reality of Star Trek Las Vegas. If you attend, you are deep in unfriendly territory and heavily outnumbered, maybe 15:1. No one is likely to say anything, politics are unlikely to come up in the halls, vendor room, etc., BUT in the large theatre and maybe even the small ones, things change.
I understand that Star Trek Discovery his ending after 5 seasons, and the viewer ratings have been dismal.
Friday afternoon, one of the panels in the main theatre consisted of 3 actor/activists from ST Discovery. They struck many blows for Didn't Earn It, and ended up campaigning for Kammie, to the point that I felt the FEC should know (I don't have video).

These .. actors ... on a show with truly bad ratings (why??), with unimpressive next-big-thing plans (i.e., NOT promising, big-potential, new shows) were spouting off the usual Leftist anti-Trump talking points (at least some of which even I knew were wrong) in the usual overly-self-assured, excessively sanctimonius style.
Standing on the side of the theatre, I saw an image of the theatre audience (perhaps 1000 people) change from little-to-no motion to a blur of clapping hands, raised arms, etc. and shouts of approval, on cue. I estimate a response of at least 90% of the audience, maybe even 95%. All th eporple I met there were very nice, very likable, seemingly very intelligent and educated. But ...
Why was ANYONE listening to actors, again,from a show with truly bad ratings (again,why??), with unimpressive next-big-thing plans, about who to vote for in November. But, the audience loved them, like a dog licking up its own vomit.
I had the immediate sense that "I was in the wrong bar."
I judge the probability of me going to another ST convention, any ST convention, to be highly doubtful.

The mayor of my particular small town was a corrupt SOB who eventually got caught embezzling money from the town and not paying taxes on his other endeavors for years. But he did have his redeeming features because he hired us, the teenagers every summer to do work around town and by work I mean show up by 9:00 and go home by 4:00 and during those hours put in a solid 15 minutes doing something each day that looked useful. He was our hero because not only could we could be bribed we liked being bribed. Gov. Tim Walz reminds me of that mayor.

My definition of "Las Vegas" (the places that interest me, and where I go) is Old Town south to Mandalay Bay, and maybe 1/2 mile either side.
We may have a different definition of "local"
