Am adjuster IRL. I'd say as long as it's a first party claim on your own HO insurance it would be covered unless specifically excluded. Less deductible of course. On the other hand if the claim was against a plumber - third party - who may have recently done work on the valves, then it could get a little trickier. If damages were substantial, then engineering company may want to do a forensic test on the valves to determine if manufacturer defect or shoddy workmanship. Sometimes policies exclude shoddy workmanship. Sorry to be a thread killer. Posted by: Daisy Cutter at August 03, 2024 09:32 PM (AdbLi) 63

George @BehizyTweets SHOCKING: Election fraud researcher and former California lawmaker Steve Baldwin reveals that voter rolls in swing states are full of illegal voters & ghost names. Migrant processing facilities also appear as some voters' addresses "What we have found is that some of the voter rolls in the swing states are chock full of illegal aliens and other people who should not be on the voter roll." "All these NGOs that are processing them even before they cross the border, they're using the address of the processing center as their voter registration address." According to his team, the Georgia voter rolls have - 179,149 voters with incomplete addresses (missing apartment, unit or suite numbers) - 114,817 voters used an invalid USPS address to register -78,805 registered on a FEDERAL HOLIDAY (how?) - 68,983 voters permanently moved out of the state but still remained on the roll -Etc If these findings are even 10% accurate, Republicans need to get to work Posted by: Mister Ghost at August 03, 2024 09:36 PM (TGPs7) 79

Yvonne Craig was the classic Orion Slave Girl. She wasn’t even a professional dancer, so she was astounded when the Trek producers told her that her scene had a big dance part. And even more shocked when she asked what she was supposed to do, and they said “oh we don’t know, just come up with something.” What she came up with turned out to be one of most iconic scenes from TOS.

You know, it wasn't that bad for the first 6000 years or so. Posted by: Way,Way Downriver at August 03, 2024 10:43 PM (zdLoL) There’s actually a serious point to be made here. Multicultural societies work ONLY when there is some powerful external force ready and able to use force to oppress the various fragments equally. Lebanon (and the rest of the Mideast) have always been ruled by Empires, not by themselves. Leave off deep history and just do the last 2500 years - first the Persians, then Alexander and his successors, then Rome, then Byzantium, then the Caliphate, then the Crusaders, then the Ottomans, then the British and the French. As long as that’s the setup, it can work. But Multi-Culti societies cannot govern themselves, they collapse into civil wars and chaos when they try. They must be ruled from outside. Well, I just made a handshake deal with a friend to swap some cars. He gets one of my long-neglected projects, a '53 Studebaker Commander coupe, to build an old-school Studebaker-powered hot rod. He gets body, chassis, engine, transmission, and most of the trim, plus engine dress-up parts. It's nearly all here, somewhere. And I get two of his long-neglected projects, a '49 Monarch sedan (Canadian counterpart to Mercury) which is complete, and may run, and an '83 Chevy El Camino, which is rust-free, and does run, but needs a lot of work to be road-worthy. I told him I will regard both these cars as revenue projects: make them run, and sell them off. No problem.

For reasons that are not clear, the automakers are using soybean based insulators around their wiring.
I've seen stories like this about other outdoor wiring being insulated with a nut based material and being destroyed when the local squirrel population found it. But hey if the plebes not having electricity/cars is the price we have to pay I'm sure the elites will be ok with it... Posted by: 18-1 at August 04, 2024 12:42 AM (oZhjI) 453

I believe that makes them 'far right' by seemingly every European politician and media standard. Heaven forfend, wanting Ireland for the Irish. Her unfavorables are as bad as Joey's, and there's still time to dump her. 3 weeks after Joey left the race and not one presser from her on that. No questions about Joey's brain and functionality. Is she assuming the role of President? Nope. Just keep her hidden, doing only heavily scripted appearances with NO questions (which she still manages to bomb). She is the Orwellian Candidate, totally fake, totally made up for the moment, whatever that moment in time happens to be. Border Czar! Not the Border Czar! Right in front of our lying eyes. 2024 Las Vegas Report, because a couple of people asked. 1/2 I'm back from LV a few hours early. I missed Hat; he was unavailable until abut 5:00PM today, and I was soon to board a plane. Uber works well in LV. Quick response, almost everything is close by. Plan on $15-$20 plus tip for most local rides. I susoect cabs would be $30+; if they're "there", no wait, but cost ... I like Uber. The one truly interesting thing to report is the reality of Star Trek Las Vegas. If you attend, you are deep in unfriendly territory and heavily outnumbered, maybe 15:1. No one is likely to say anything, politics are unlikely to come up in the halls, vendor room, etc., BUT in the large theatre and maybe even the small ones, things change. I understand that Star Trek Discovery his ending after 5 seasons, and the viewer ratings have been dismal. Friday afternoon, one of the panels in the main theatre consisted of 3 actor/activists from ST Discovery. They struck many blows for Didn't Earn It, and ended up campaigning for Kammie, to the point that I felt the FEC should know (I don't have video). 2024 Las Vegas Report, because a couple of people asked. 2/2 These .. actors ... on a show with truly bad ratings (why??), with unimpressive next-big-thing plans (i.e., NOT promising, big-potential, new shows) were spouting off the usual Leftist anti-Trump talking points (at least some of which even I knew were wrong) in the usual overly-self-assured, excessively sanctimonius style. Standing on the side of the theatre, I saw an image of the theatre audience (perhaps 1000 people) change from little-to-no motion to a blur of clapping hands, raised arms, etc. and shouts of approval, on cue. I estimate a response of at least 90% of the audience, maybe even 95%. All th eporple I met there were very nice, very likable, seemingly very intelligent and educated. But ... Why was ANYONE listening to actors, again, from a show with truly bad ratings (again, why??), with unimpressive next-big-thing plans, about who to vote for in November. But, the audience loved them, like a dog licking up its own vomit. I had the immediate sense that "I was in the wrong bar." I judge the probability of me going to another ST convention, any ST convention, to be highly doubtful. End of Report Posted by: Arbalest at August 04, 2024 01:13 AM (FlRtG) 472

I lived for a few years in a small Northern Minnesota town. There I got to know the locals, the mayor, and the crap that goes on in a small town. The main groups consisted of the town drunks who spent all their days and evenings in the four bars, the pious shits who would die with their livers intact from spending their days and evenings in the four churches, The mayor and everybody that worked for the mayor whose only purpose was to appear to be doing something useful while not doing anything at all, and the rest of the schlubs went to work and paid their taxes and didn't pay much attention to any of this crap.
The mayor of my particular small town was a corrupt SOB who eventually got caught embezzling money from the town and not paying taxes on his other endeavors for years. But he did have his redeeming features because he hired us, the teenagers every summer to do work around town and by work I mean show up by 9:00 and go home by 4:00 and during those hours put in a solid 15 minutes doing something each day that looked useful. He was our hero because not only could we could be bribed we liked being bribed. Gov. Tim Walz reminds me of that mayor. Posted by: Alteria Pilgram at August 04, 2024 01:35 AM (9ICrH) 478

The best statue fuckery story I ever heard occurred in Albuquerque. Onante was a conquistador who cut the right foot off a bunch of the locals when they got surly for being conquered. This left some hard feelings laying around for a few centuries that persist until this day. Eventually, somebody thought it was a great idea to make a statue of a conquering Onante on a horse. This pissed off the locals again and finally one of them had enough and then cut the right foot off the statue. From that point on Onante spent his days behind a high fence with his right foot missing. That right foot went missing for about 30 years and only popped up recently. Where it was remains of mystery to this day.

Huh? Uh...no. Posted by: Notorious BFD I checked my receipts. Rio to HR Airport 5.37 miles total about $15 + tip. My definition of "Las Vegas" (the places that interest me, and where I go) is Old Town south to Mandalay Bay, and maybe 1/2 mile either side. We may have a different definition of "local" Posted by: Arbalest at August 04, 2024 01:52 AM (FlRtG) 483
I don't know if this still works on Lyft/Uber...but, it used to.
Enter all your "stuff". Present location/destination, etc. See that price that pops up? DO NOT click on the Green Button. Wait 5 min. Wait 10 if you gotta. If you see that price trending downwards, it's different drivers UNDERBIDDING the first "default" driver, in order to try to "steal" you as their fare. When those prices stop moving, Stab The Green Button. I used to do this SOP when flying in to Orlando, and save about 30%, every time. I'm pretty sure that house is on the way to Edisto. If it's not that house, it looks just like it. To be fair, the house I'm taking about is in a hurricane flood plane so the owners want it to survive a pretty good storm surge. If it is the same house, it is inland enough that at that hight, it could survive a cat 5 during high tide.
