Get off my lawn said the Genius Award Winner.
A Maine man was arrested early Saturday morning after shooting and injuring a teenage prankster who knocked on his door and ran in a ‘ding-dong-ditch’ game gone wrong, police said. Vincent Martin, 30, of Harrison faces charges of aggravated assault, and reckless conduct, among other charges, according to a press statement from Capt. Kerry Joyce of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office. Just after 1 a.m., law enforcement received numerous reports of shots fired and alleged screaming heard in the area of Waterford Road and Depot Street, Joyce said. Soon after, Bridgton Hospital reported a walk-in patient suffering a gunshot wound. Police later identified that person as a teenager who played a game of ‘ding-dong-ditch’ on Martin’s home at 91 Waterford Road and ran away. Martin, however, answered the door and shot at the teens several times, striking one in the calf, Joyce said. Martin is being held on $10,000 bond at the Cumberland County Jail.

We seem to be going through a "creepy phase" in American horror movies like the Japanese did in the 90's(with great success).
"Longlegs" and "Late Night with the Devil" are both movies that just want to creep you out. And this new one, "Oddity" (trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWb5WDyWL3M
all are solidly based around the idea that slow burn creepiness is more effective than jump scares.

They aren’t hard to care for, but they are a lot of cat. I wouldn’t recommend what I have for first time cat owners, you can get the same cool look, same dog personality, without the destruction with an SBT Savannah (all the Serval bred out). They are crazy, they are super smart, like furry 3 year olds. They eat a ton and you do need to give them taurine as there isn’t enough in regular cat food. They need a lot of attention, you can’t leave them alone all day. But I wouldn’t have any other breed. They are so cool.

Get an SBT! You get polka dots, you get the big ears, just a smaller package. Mine are into everything, it’s why I can’t have anything nice. They open doors, turn water on, rampage. SBTs will be calmer, but still spicy. Just not as spicy.

Personally, no. One of my cousins used to babysit some of the kids in the 50's. I know that one of the children (a little girl) drowned later in the Catawba river.
If you're interested, there is a nice biography of W. Henry Belk. It's a hell of a story.

When he had some money, my father supported the orphans. Not rich like the Belks, but he was generous.

I've been looking at a lot of these videos and sound analysis of the gunshots from the rally. These are done by people who somewhat know what they're talking about, and others who don't have a clue.
I tell you one thing, there better one hell of a transparent, complete, and meticulous investigation and report of this.
I want to know where everyone was shot was, where every bullet went, and a recreation of the shooting according to the theory of the report that shows itself to be consistent with all the videos taken during that event.

I was reading something that another "tactical team" took a shot or shots at Crooks and missed.
The kill shot apparently came from another position, not the ones behind Trump's stage.

At a bare minimum, acknowledging the event happened and that it is now an active attempted assassination investigation of the 45th President.
And functionally, this investigation should not take more than a week, maybe two, because everything at the event would have been predicated on the developed security plan and RACI chart for the event for the nuts and bolts and then you figure out who gave the stand down orders or all clear orders to allow the President to go on stage with an known active threat.
Because that person is probably the Deep State operator who shepherded his sheep into the assassins crosshairs.

I think it was a setup in that they wanted and allowed it to happen. They had inferior coverage for Trump. They have DEI incompetence, you have Mayorkas who loathes Trump (along with the Bidens). A building 150 yard away was 'outside the security perimeter'? The roof was too 'slopey' and therefore unsafe for an agent to stand? No official briefing in now over a week? Former USSS and other elite security, sniper and other jobs have been all pretty much in agreement something stinks with this. Plus if Cheatle leaves, no hearing.
If this had been Biden shot at, we'd have had 24/7 coverage of 'The Miracle At Butler', with lots of videos aired, charts, slow-mos and reporters asking hard questions. To me, the silence screams something's off about this.

The back of the building where the ladder was or where Bozo the cop was boosted by his buddy had no windows. the SS would have had to come out and see. Not shoot blindly.
Those shoots my well have distracted the shooter.
If he decided, instead, to shoot at the Bozo's then they both would have been in line of sight allowing the twosome to return fire. Either way the fire would not have been directed at the president.

Read an interesting article at RCP (I think). Quoted DEM sources as saying that volunteers aren't showing up AT ALL at their multitude of swing state field offices-- no phone banks; no canvassing; no GOTV.
Recall that in '20, the DEMs had a yuuuge advantage in their voter outreach efforts-- the RNC was busy buying flowers. At least as of now, that disparity looks as if it may be mitigated this year.
Then there's the measurable "enthusiasm gap," which is consistent with the reports that DEM volunteers aren't coming in.

Drive by posting, but remember how the shots that day sounded weird? Short cracks, big booms? People are doing acoustic analysis of the available recordings, with speculation that there's more than two weapons (not counting the kill shot, which would've likely been suppressed - see Tweedledee and Tweedledum on the dangerously sloped roof blocked by the tree), firing from distances of IIRC 400, 800, and around 1400 feet.
