Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Saturday Overnight Open Thread (7/20/24) And 7/13/24 Pre-empted Music Thread (Boomer Style)Get off my lawn said the Genius Award Winner. A Maine man was arrested early Saturday morning after shooting and injuring a teenage prankster who knocked on his door and ran in a ‘ding-dong-ditch’ game gone wrong, police said. Vincent Martin, 30, of Harrison faces charges of aggravated assault, and reckless conduct, among other charges, according to a press statement from Capt. Kerry Joyce of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office. Just after 1 a.m., law enforcement received numerous reports of shots fired and alleged screaming heard in the area of Waterford Road and Depot Street, Joyce said. Soon after, Bridgton Hospital reported a walk-in patient suffering a gunshot wound. Police later identified that person as a teenager who played a game of ‘ding-dong-ditch’ on Martin’s home at 91 Waterford Road and ran away. Martin, however, answered the door and shot at the teens several times, striking one in the calf, Joyce said. Martin is being held on $10,000 bond at the Cumberland County Jail. The answer to the Prog Band identity can be found with the Mystery Click Speaking of CBD....... He passed the following along. I thought it should be set to videos. Enjoy. I've seen fire and I've seen rain. I've been through the desert on a horse with no name. I've gone to Kansas City. I've sang in the sunshine. I've been on the road again, with Georgia on my mind. Like a rolling stone, I've given peace a chance. I've put my camel to bed, and danced the last dance. Mr. Tambourine Man played a song for me. I've whispered words of wisdom, let it be. I've fell into a burning ring of fire, and walked the line. To all the girls I've loved before, you were always on my mind. I've been everywhere, I've been so lonesome I could cry. I've driven my Chevy to the levee when the levee was dry. I've been to Itchypoo Park in a yellow submarine. I've made the scene in a time machine. I've done the Hokey Pokey and turned myself around. I've welcomed baby back to the poor side of town. I've followed the tracks of my tears down a long and winding road. I've kept on searching for a heart of gold. I've sought shelter from the store. I've sat on the dock of the bay. I've rocked around the clock on a sunshiny day. I've knocked on heaven's door blowing in the wind. Joy to the world, those were the days my friend. Lay lady lay, in crimson and clover. It's been a hard day's night, the party's over. Will CBD be back in a month? Come back and find out. Comments(Jump to bottom of comments)1

Eh, too late. I liked "Longlegs" better than moviegique and whoever that was upstairs. It's an effective creepy horror movie which is tough to do. Speaking of which... We seem to be going through a "creepy phase" in American horror movies like the Japanese did in the 90's(with great success). "Longlegs" and "Late Night with the Devil" are both movies that just want to creep you out. And this new one, "Oddity" (trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWb5WDyWL3M all are solidly based around the idea that slow burn creepiness is more effective than jump scares. Check them out. They aren’t hard to care for, but they are a lot of cat. I wouldn’t recommend what I have for first time cat owners, you can get the same cool look, same dog personality, without the destruction with an SBT Savannah (all the Serval bred out). They are crazy, they are super smart, like furry 3 year olds. They eat a ton and you do need to give them taurine as there isn’t enough in regular cat food. They need a lot of attention, you can’t leave them alone all day. But I wouldn’t have any other breed. They are so cool.

>>Right now, we should've had a press conference explaining what happened, who shot back at Crooks, and from where. At a bare minimum, acknowledging the event happened and that it is now an active attempted assassination investigation of the 45th President. And functionally, this investigation should not take more than a week, maybe two, because everything at the event would have been predicated on the developed security plan and RACI chart for the event for the nuts and bolts and then you figure out who gave the stand down orders or all clear orders to allow the President to go on stage with an known active threat. Because that person is probably the Deep State operator who shepherded his sheep into the assassins crosshairs. Odd things keep happening around the investigation. Originally, from some of the distanced photos from drones, some people said the blood spatter around Crook’s body didn’t look right for him having been shot by another sniper. The FBI could have answered this directly, provide close up photos and said “no you’re wrong.”
But they didn’t do that. Instead, they said nothing and the next day brought in a crew to power wash the roof. Posted by: Tom Servo at July 20, 2024 11:33 PM (S6gqv) 311

Rutles was really just Eric Idle, along with other people that were loosely part of the Python circle, which also had people from the Beatles and even the Beach Boys circle. Harrison was one of the people that invested in Holy Grail. Neil Innes wrote most of the Rutles songs, and his old Bonzo Doo Dah band was in Magical Mystery Tour. Also, it is weird to be right on the cusp between Boomers and X. Your older brothers had all the fun, and you grew up knowing darn well that your teen culture was inferior. Read an interesting article at RCP (I think). Quoted DEM sources as saying that volunteers aren't showing up AT ALL at their multitude of swing state field offices-- no phone banks; no canvassing; no GOTV. Recall that in '20, the DEMs had a yuuuge advantage in their voter outreach efforts-- the RNC was busy buying flowers. At least as of now, that disparity looks as if it may be mitigated this year. Then there's the measurable "enthusiasm gap," which is consistent with the reports that DEM volunteers aren't coming in. Posted by: mnw at July 21, 2024 12:21 AM (NLIak) 359

November 24, 2018: Pontoise Cathedral burns. February 6, 2019: Lavaur Cathedral burns. March 18, 2019: the cathedral-basilica of Saint-Sulpice burns. April 15, 2019: Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris burns. June 12, 2020: Rennes cathedral burns. July 18, 2020: Nantes Cathedral burns. Six great cathedrals of France set on fire. Now another is added: Rouen, the city which, said Maupassant, "cannot be described, you have to know it". The city of Madame Bovary's forbidden loves with Leo, her "Babylon". The cathedral city painted thirty times by Monet. The city of the “hundred bell towers”and the Place du Vieux-Marché, where Joan of Arc was burned alive during the Hundred Years' War. In 2018, 32 churches burned. In 2019, the year of Notre Dame, 22 churches burned. In 2023, 23 churches on fire. In 2024 so far, 12 churches on fire. And often multiple churches burn in the same city. The Basilica of Saint-Nicolas in Nantes was almost destroyed by fire. I've posted repeatedly that he was a lot more than "a nutty kid." He was an honors HS grad; an honors JuCo grad majoring in engineering science; had been accepted at Robert Morris University to study engineering, starting in the Fall Semester. Recall the IEDs, the remote bomb detonator; and the drone? The encrypted cell phones? He was a technologically adept, dangerous adversary. Bethel Park School District brief dispels a bunch of rumors. Posted by: 13times - Drive by posting, but remember how the shots that day sounded weird? Short cracks, big booms? People are doing acoustic analysis of the available recordings, with speculation that there's more than two weapons (not counting the kill shot, which would've likely been suppressed - see Tweedledee and Tweedledum on the dangerously sloped roof blocked by the tree), firing from distances of IIRC 400, 800, and around 1400 feet.
