Senators Confront PepsiCop Kim Cheatle at Convention, Demanding She Answer Questions About Her Incompetence

Update: Let's try my not-so-secret Gray Agenda to give my poor eyes a break.

Girlboss gets bossed around.

At the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, a group of Republican senators confronted Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle regarding the agency's failure to protect former President Donald Trump from an assassination attempt. The confrontation, which occurred Wednesday evening, involved Senators Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), John Barrasso (R-WY), James Lankford (R-OK), and Kevin Cramer (R-ND).

Sen. Barrasso described the encounter in a video, stating, "Sen. Blackburn and I just went face to face with the director of the Secret Service asking for specific answers about what happened with President Trump in Pennsylvania and how that shooter was able to get off a clear shot." The senators questioned Cheatle in public, demanding answers about the incident that took place four days prior.

Despite their persistent questioning, Cheatle attempted to evade the senators, eventually breaking away by taking an escalator upstairs. Sen. Blackburn remarked, "Cheatle can run, but she can't hide." Some House lawmakers have called for Cheatle to resign or face losing her salary if she remains in office.

Earlier on Wednesday, Secret Service and FBI officials briefed House and Senate lawmakers in separate private sessions. The suspect, Thomas Matthew Crooks, was identified as suspicious more than an hour before he fired on Trump from a nearby rooftop. Sen. Barrasso detailed the situation, noting, "He was identified as a character of suspicion because [he had] a rangefinder as well as a backpack. And this was over an hour before the shooting actually occurred."

A source familiar with the call told the Washington Examiner that the precise lead time was 62 minutes. Barrasso added, "So, you would think over the course of that hour, you shouldn't lose sight of the individual. Somebody ought to be following up on those sorts of things. No evidence of that happening at all."

More video of the confrontations here, thanks to andycanuck.

When Biden got off the plane last night in DE, I wanted him to flip everyone the bird and say Go FUCK YOURSELVES! Every one of you foaming at the mouth hacks in the press. I thought Chris Hayes' head was going to explode last night from the heat generated by his attack on Biden.

Makes me furious. I’m in Texas and my vote already won’t count. So now, there’s no reason to feel like I have any voice in the process at all.

Our primary votes don't count, that's been settled. What's important is the big money keeps flowing. They know we'll fall in line and vote blue. There will be no consequences for this BS so it will happen again.

It's control of congress they care about. The polls they're looking at are about down ticket races. What good is Congress when Trump will be king?

344 220 There two ladders. The one the cops put up is the tall one. The shorter one on top of the AC unit may have been put up by the shooter. I haven't seen any clear information on it. If that one is his then he clomped around on top of the USSS outpost on a metal roof to reach his firing position because it was a long ways away.

BTW, I noticed the NRO quote in the margin. I have now moved NRO from Bulwark-curious, to Bulwark-adjacent. Update your bingo cards accordingly.

Posted by: Thatch at July 18, 2024 02:04 PM (2Gw6W)

There are unconfirmed stories that the local cops were not in the building the scumbag was on, but in the building right next to it, with a TBD low structure connecting them (A/C duct enclosure?). Supposedly the scumbag used his ladder to get atop that low structure then by TBD means got up to the roof.

I've also heard stories that the local 'sniper team' was not in either of those buildings.

All I can be sure of at this pico-second is that the final story from the local cops will not jibe with the SS's final story.

If law enforcement is lying to the media about how the shooter got onto the roof, it kills the credibility of federal law enforcement in this matter.

Oddly, when the Gateway Pundit came up to the AGR building, we were quickly escorted off the parking lot, but there was a large FBI van on-site, even though Thomas Crooks’ body had been removed on Saturday night.

There should not have been any evidence left to process at that spot, and no other work to be done."

371 re Gateway Pundit (Benjamin Wetmore this time, not Hoft) -

But pictured above is a ten-foot ladder, and one that large would not fit in Crooks’ car, so there would be no way for him to get it from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, to Butler, Pennsylvania.

Unless it folds up, as many ladders do precisely so they'll fit in smallish cars.

Crooks’ height and weight are not released. But assuming he is an average male of average build, he likely weighs around 190 pounds and is 5’9.

Sorry Ben, but 190 pounds at 5'9 is fat (or he-man build). 20 year old males usually run around 150 pounds. People bulk up as they get older. I'm not even 190 pounds and I've been 29 for a long while.

Just a scan of the article has pulled up one questionable statement, and one speculation pulled out of the author's sigmoid and smelling about as nice.

Gateway Pundit never was much of a source. Still isn't.

I doubt she's ever personally checked on her troops' arrangements for any events, except a few Jill events where she knew she could get good food and drinks free.

I doubt any motives for her visit to the convention hall last night were anything buy totally self-serving. She no doubt hoped to sweet-talk Trump into publicly forgiving her. I doubt she persuaded The Donald.

483 I'd be curious who all was being protected by Secret Service on Saturday, size of team v. venue, experience of team members. For instance:

Harris spoke at Pennsylvania Convention Center and stopped at the Reading Terminal Market, public and IIRC likely quite difficult to guard. However, she was also with Gov. Josh Shapiro who always has his full State Police detail.

(See White House briefing room, July 13, 2024, Remarks by Vice President Harris and Governor Josh Shapiro in a Press Gaggle.

Veep, in part: "They’re pushing this Project 2025, which is a direct threat to so many of the institutions and — and ideals that we hold dear.")

So, FLOTUS in Pittsburgh, various family members hither and yon. And then PDT in an area with adjacent private buildings, unprotected to some degrees.

That doesn't seem to leave many federal and upper echelon level state police personnel available but I may be wrong.

Eggs are a gift from God and arguably the perfect food. IIRC they have something like 90%+ usability, meaning that - except for the shells - your body can use all but 10% for nutrition. 534 USDA handbook #8 lists eggs in the meat category. And .... they are meat, just not .... very developed meat. Lots of good minerals and protein. I bet the shells would be good source for calcium, if maybe torch them good or sanitize in extremis.

I read once in Australia they keep them on the shelf, for up to maybe 6 months, because the eggs are not washed. I noticed in the refrigerator commercial eggs, they will last a few months but they will start to dry out.
The they start to give off unpleasing odors at some point.

568 they are still in the refrigerator case in Australia, but one big difference -- even the inexpensive eggs have orange yolks and rich egg taste, like the more expensive brands here have, or eggs from hens you raise yourself when you feed the hens lots of protein

It's always sort of amusing seeing people crack a homegrown egg that have only ever used storebought.

570 Which is why I have to eat eggs that are fully cooked (i.e. no runny yolk). Sucks, but I cook 'em until there *almost* fully cooked and let the cooking finish on the plate for a silky finish.

When I was a wee lad I was so disgusted at the taste of the white I could only eat extremely runny soft boiled eggs that disgusted my mom to see. The taste problem waned by my 20s. No easter eggs for me.

571 BTW, shooter wasn't a local, local. He drove in from a nice area & neighborhood some miles away, may have expected he could park on the fairgrounds and then found he couldn't.

If the vehicle made it into fairground parking, he could have even set off an IED to stampede the crowd, misdirect the SS and police, etc.

Remember that the SS & police were confronted with fencing as then ran towards the private building in question, from the staging area for the rally.

573 From what I read years ago based on a lot of comparative analysis of Europe (no washing of eggs, stored room temperature) and the US (eggs are washed and refrigerated), there is little difference in shelf life or disease transmission. Unwashed eggs are better at transmitting salmonella, washed eggs are technically safer but require refrigeration to get the longevity. It basically all balances out. Two different routes that essentially arrive at the same destination.

574 What to be a good boss as a woman? Be a woman and be smart, capable and fair and you will be fine.
Posted by: Oldcat at July 18, 2024 02:36 PM (eoQWY)

Any place I ever worked, those qualities disqualified you from being a boss.

Being smart was seen as a threat to their superiors; capable meant they might outshine the "wrong" people, and "fair" might mean the "wrong" people being rewarded instead of their sycophants.

Yeah, I worked at large defense contractors...

576 Yeah - in America, if someone leaves a carton of eggs on the counter for 12 minutes they will probably get thrown away. Only half exaggerating.

How do they pasteurize in the shell? UV light or something? Imagine seeing a carton of eggs kept on the shelf at room temperature for up to 6 months. I think the old school way to keep them from drying out was coat them in something, the shell will outgas and they will get dessicated.

I'm wondering if the way to go are hard-boiled Deviled eggs for hiking? Make them at home, with all the hot spices and stuff, and wrap them well. They should keep for 4 to 6 days I bet if it's sorta cool temperatures?

Peanut butter sandwiches are actually not too bad in overall carb/fat/protein ratio. Not great, though pretty affordable. A 5 pound bag of bread flour and a big 40 oz jar of peanut butter. I do like dairy butter for a sammich I guess, throw that on the pile for more calories in winter.

Your campmates will throw you into a crevasse if you eat nothing but peanut butter sammiches on a long hike.

When I went to the Butler rally in 2020, I had to park at some community college, or something, and get on a shuttle bus. It took an insanely long time (well over an hour, IIRC) to catch a shuttle bus after the event.

Anyway, I was probably parked at least a mile away.

Notably this was the first time CNN has covered a Trump rally live.

582 I ate breakfast at a diner in South Dakota once. For an hour I had been driving by sunflower fields. The egg yolks were flourescent! Guess what them chickens was eating, I guess. Maybe the insects that eat the sunflower? Really cool, and yes tasty.

They coupled it with good rashers of bacon. Not two limp pieces of band-aid size nothing, no sir. Yuge thick pieces that extended across both sides of the platter. I had sort of lowered expectations for a highway stop area so close to the interstate.

583 I've never been able to keep onions to last as long as I would like. How did grammaw get 'em to keep all winter? Somebody told me that they might already be a year old, that's why they spoil within a few weeks almost it seems like even in a dark cellar. Then once in a while ya get a good firm batch and they don't get soft spots for a long time.

A good firm onion is a gift from the guy upstairs, and it always makes me sad when I'm out of 'em. They dry really easy, which is something I should do to avoid throwing away good onions.

That's where I'm at on this debacle. There is so much obvious nonfeasance or misfeasance on the part of the Secret Service command center at Butler, PA. They either ignored reports about a suspicious person, or didn't care if Pres. Trump was injured or killed.

When the official Secret Service excuse is, "Yeah, we suck at our jobs," that makes me believe that the real reason is so much worse.
