Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Democrat Elites and Sneaky Snakes Scheme to Oust Middle Class Joe from OfficeThe Elites are really turning on Biden -- Chuck Schumer is now talking about dumping Biden. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer is privately open to replacing Biden on the top of the Democratic ticket, according to Axios. That's in contrast with what he's said publicly, that he stands with the president despite his disastrous debate. 'As I've said before, I'm for Joe,' declared Schumer to waiting reporters as he returned from a recess this week.More: Absolute twunt Gretchen Whitmer has been playing the snakiest game of attempting to replace Biden with her twuntish self while claiming she's totally with Middle Class Joe. Here, she sticks the knife in deep: What would be the harm in taking a cognitive test, Vigorous Joe?
A lot of Democrats are similarly encouraging Biden to do whatever he thinks is the right thing, so long as he thinks the right thing is withdrawing from the race.

I'd really love it if Whitmer had to give up the governorship to run...
But it's a lose-lose scenario for Michigan: either Whitmer would lose the election and remain governor OR Whitmer would be president and screw up the nation like she has Michigan. Keep the White Witch in the winter peninsula. Posted by: Formerly Virginian at July 11, 2024 04:24 PM (N1DT3) 9

Posted by: Mark Andrew Edwards, Vote but also buy ammo at July 11, 2024 04:28 PM (xcxpd) ======== Since the machine as a whole is made up of factions, I'd call that contradictory. What matters to the individual factions is important to them. Ultimately, they need to be on the winning side to get some patronage, but holy shit do they want the top spot to get more. So, they have duelling interests. The electoral process allows consolidation and compromise, but Democrats have chosen to stop using that process, making the value of the individual interest more important than the overall interest. Hey, I'm curious....what is the Republican Party doing while all this is going on? A strategist without scruples who doesn't care a whit for the country would sit back and let it play out.
A moralist who gives a shit about the US would be screaming at the top of their lungs to get the dead weight, dangerous, and incompetent jackass out of the Oval office before he damages everything he touches even more. Am I to assume that we should let this continue without taking a position all the way up until next January? Because a lot can happen in 5 and 1/2 months. I'm not talking about Biden running for office....I'm talking about right now. I don't see how, in good conscience, anyone with a brain can allow this guy to stay in the White House even another week. Biden and Trump tied despite debate (ABC News/Washington Post/Ipsos poll). Americans divide 46-47% between Biden and Trump if the election were today, almost identical to a 44-46% ABC/Ipsos poll result in April. Among registered voters (though there’s plenty of time to register) it’s an absolute tie, 46-46%.
How do you explain that in this same poll, a majority of Democrats want Biden to drop out? It is not inconsistent at all. Most Dems would vote for any candidate to keep Trump out. They do not think Biden will be able to convince the independents and low-information voters to vote for him. We need these voters and currently we are not getting anywhere close to enough to stop Trump. He was chosen because no other serious candidate challenged him. It is horrifying, at this point in this critical race, the majority of the base wants him to drop out. Democrats like Biden; they are losing confidence that he is able to beat Trump. They will unify around Biden or any other candidate on the ticket, The question is who will bring enough independents with them. Last race, Biden won with independents; and he is losing them now. For chuckles - because I believe it nothing but theater intended to keep her in the seat - 'Democratic Socialists of America revoke AOC endorsement over Israel stance' by Jackson Walker | The National Desk, Thu, July 11th 2024 In part, WASHINGTON (TND) — The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) on Wednesday announced the group would revoke its endorsement of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., over her stance on the Israel-Hamas conflict. DSA wrote it initially made its endorsement of AOC contingent on whether she opposed funding to Israel, participated with the DSA, supported divestment from Israel and opposed “criminalization of anti-Zionism.” The group added, however, that the progressive Democrat has proven unable to meet their requirements. “Because we have not seen evidence of AOC meeting these conditions, and at the request of the NYC-DSA SC, the NPC is withdrawing our conditional endorsement of Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, although she will remain endorsed by our New York City chapter,” it wrote. ....." Democrats like Biden; they are losing confidence that he is able to beat Trump. Since the machine as a whole is made up of factions, I'd call that contradictory. What matters to the individual factions is important to them. Ultimately, they need to be on the winning side to get some patronage, but holy shit do they want the top spot to get more. So, they have duelling interests. MSNBC, Intellectual humility leads us to Kamala Harris as the least risky bet
The case for Harris is about being honest about what we do and don’t know. July 11, 2024, 12:02 PM EDT By Zeeshan Aleem, MSNBC Opinion Writer/Editor In part, "The Democratic Party is at a juncture where every possible path is extremely risky. The moment demands humility and agnosticism; the goal is not to identify an obvious winner, which is impossible, but to manage risk. If Biden steps aside, Vice President Kamala Harris is most likely the least risky option. The argument that Harris is less risky might strike some as counterintuitive. Her vice presidency has been marked by strikingly low favorability ratings. Biden assigned her a politically sensitive policy portfolio that led her to, for example, take positions on immigration that brought her under fire from both the left and the right. And reports indicating that Harris felt frustrated and sidelined by Biden’s team mar the narrative of a natural passing of the torch." What we know, we know she knows, and now Jill & the clam must also know: She has endured....MAGA! Posted by: L - If they do it with you, they'll do it to you too at July 11, 2024 04:48 PM (NFX2v) 181

If 42 or 43% is really the floor for those who will vote D no matter what, then Jill will be able to continue to point to his poll numbers and say he's got a shot.
Biden's strongest argument is that none of his potential replacements are polling any better than he is. Posted by: The ARC of History! at July 11, 2024 05:21 PM (uxCna) 358

Hey, just because Obama told a college girlfriend that he fantasized about having sex with a man every day is no reason to assume that he ever acted on that! 345 So much speculation. How about some bets? I bet anyone here $100 that Joe will not resign. If I lose I'll send it to Ace. If I win, you send $100 to Ace.
Posted by: fd ======= Irresistible impulse meets the unmovable force for any of us outside the info loop. Basically it comes down to a selfish senile old man, his criminal family and the broader rival Democratic crime families. So the question, as it was for the Commission after Paul Castellano's assassination was who is going to be the new front guy. Posted by: FJB at July 11, 2024 05:23 PM (mIs2x) 362

And obviously the only reason Putin didn't pull any shit during the Trump years was because he supports him as America's President.
He attacked Ukraine because Joe is such a strong American hero, he just can't take it. The measure of America's strength is obviously calculated by how big a powergrab Russia makes. Science. Posted by: Chuck Todd's brain at July 11, 2024 05:35 PM (CbdM6) 378

The thing about Biden stepping down to public pressure. This is something Dem/Media do to control Republican's. When Dems get in real trouble they never step down. Just ride the wave and people move past it. For example remember when every democrat in Virginia got catch with black face. None stepped down despite that being worse that mega-hilter and peek BLM.
The point is Dems know they can ride out any issue. There is not a reason to bow to media pressure because its as fake as $0.50 bacon. Posted by: Sayomara at July 11, 2024 05:50 PM (Ku6NF) 381
Biden doesn't have control of the old football. Now the person or persons that do are unknown to me and might well be worse, seeing what our foreign policy is right now what with Poland trying to create a no fly zone in an area of Ukraine where Russians don't fly anyhow.
Posted by: Oldcat at July 11, 2024 06:44 PM (eoQWY) I do believe the Poles are going to try to walk away with the NW corner of Ukraine, as their payback for their solid and unwavering support. Posted by: Kindltot at July 11, 2024 06:49 PM (D7oie) 382
