Stewart began by saying, "I thought I would take a moment to explain where the concern about Biden's performance might be coming from, and why these concerns may be seen as a more foundational issue. You see, even before the debate, there had been some troubling moments of disconnect from the President."
I have it cued up to the funny part. You can stop watching when he starts talking about Trump. Although he does answer liberal spinners who ask, rhetorically, "Why doesn't anyone call out Trump?" He says something like, "Yes, why doesn't any one ever call out Trump, like every single night for the last ten years"? In other words: Yes, we attack Trump constantly. But now is the time to give Biden some actual evaluation. He then goes back to talking about Biden's "cognitive difficulties."

I suspect most of the argument around the effectiveness of certain diets is always arguing around the edges.
Sure, you probably consume fewer total calories when eating more fats than carbs, but if the total is 5000 a day and you're burning 1700, the difference between fats and carbs doesn't matter.
If you're burning 2000 and eating 2000, the difference could matter more.

To lose weight, energy in must be lower than energy out. The bigger the deficit - within reason - the bigger the effect. How you get that energy does matter, but limiting yourself to 1500 calories a day in Sweet Tarts (h/t TJM) will still work. You might starve to death and hurt your organs, but it will work for weight loss.
And yeah, the first two weeks or so of that *really* sucks and you're hungry all the time. Power through that, though, and it gets easy. I was freaking miserable at the end of last year and the early this year, after I started. Then, fairly suddenly, it was okay.
But you have to get through the suckitude upfront and, if you didn't already do it, need to set schedules to keep yourself on task. It does take effort. That effort is not insurmountable, but it's very real.

No! We hear this all the time, the mistake, and it's a big one is assuming that the obese individual is only consuming maybe 1800 calories a day in the first place.
Fat people are fat, because they actually eat 3000 or even 4000 kilocalories a day. Ask me how I know.

Piper, I lost well over 50 pounds by just gradually reducing my intake. I've always been a pretty avid walker, so maybe that played some role. But, as I said above, exercise for me is more of a psychological booster than a physical one. But I wouldn't rule out the psychological role in weight loss, either.

Caloric deficit. The end. It isn't any more complicated than this. That doesn't make it *easy*, and that's why people want to muddy the water, to try and make it look deep. It is very simple to lose fat. That is not to say it isn't difficult to keep up with day, after day. It takes discipline and willpower. (notice "they" say that has nothing to do with it as well)
If you exercise, you will burn more calories. You could eat nothing but XXL Hershey Bars if you want. You won't like it.

I know this isn’t popular, but you need carbs. You don’t plan a long trip without fueling up. Carbs are fuel for your body. The types of carbs absolutely matters and this is where I think people start to glaze over unless you are really into it. But it doesn’t need to be complicated. Portions are easy - a thumb is a portion of cheese. Your palm is protein, your fist is high quality carbs, true whole grains. If you are working out with any sort of regularity and you cut carbs to the bone, you will not do as well as you would if you ate the right carbs ( and proteins and fats). Instead of the dumb pyramid, use your plate. Portions as above, and the rest filled with colorful veggies. Not drenched in butter, cream sauces or cheese. Sorry about that.

Piper, I lost well over 50 pounds by just gradually reducing my intake. I've always been a pretty avid walker, so maybe that played some role. But, as I said above, exercise for me is more of a psychological booster than a physical one. But I wouldn't rule out the psychological role in weight loss, either.

Do people here put much faith in these markets? To me it's like a prop bet where the people participating just want to make outlandish type bets and hope to pawn them off on someone else for a buck when sentiment swings.
