Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Chuck Schumer Schemes to Strip Away Trump's Presidential Immunity So That His Corrupt Democrat Prosecutors Can Continue Hounding the Once and Future PresidentSenate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has a new plan to ensure Donald Trump spends the rest of his days in prison. Amid the battle over Joe Biden's senility among Democrats, Schumer moved to a different topic, pledging to legislatively declare Trump's actions surrounding January 6th as "unofficial." That comes after the Supreme Court delivered a mixed opinion on the matter in late June, stating that "official" acts are indeed subject to presidential immunity while "unofficial" acts are not. That set up a long legal battle whereby the special counsel prosecuting Trump must litigate each action to determine what category they fall under.Schumer claims Congress has the power to "regulate the courts," so he and his Democrat conspirators can overrule court decisions as they like. Schumer emphasized Congress's constitutional authority to regulate the judiciary, stating that the new legislation would redefine certain presidential actions as "unofficial acts." This reclassification would make these actions ineligible for immunity from criminal prosecution, directly challenging the Supreme Court's recent 6-3 decision. ... The Senate Majority Leader declared his intent to collaborate with colleagues on the legislation, asserting, "We're doing this because we believe that in America, no president should be free to overturn an election against the will of the people, no matter what the conservative justices may believe."If that were true, then Congress could overturn any court decision. So they entire leftwing project to write the law from judges' benches can be undone with a law that says that Congressional law has primacy over judge-made law. We'll keep that in mind, Chuck! Remember, guys, Trump's prosecutions have absolutely nothing to do with Democrat politicians' urgent need to Defeat Trump By Other Means. That's just a conspiracy theory, You Racists. These upstanding prosecutors, who we should all Thank For Their Service, are making these decisions without any eye to political advantage at all, and with no coordination whatsoever with Biden, Biden's handlers and puppeteers, and DNC officials. Oh and I don't think Schumer's plan would work because the courts have already ruled in this case.
Allowing the court to rule and THEN removing their jurisdiction on the case they already ruled on makes no sense. You could, for example, have a court case that refuses to allow the president to expel an invader (bad law but it is what we are doing) and then congress could remove judicial jurisdiction for all future such cases but that particular invader? In 1999 known pederast Denis Hastert ascended to speaker of the House. This was after the FNM dug up that Newt and his chosen successor Bob Livingstone were having affairs and took themselves out of the running. The FNM/Democrats knew AT THE TIME that Hastert was a pedo - several have admitted to it with no explanation why an affair with an willing adult woman was news and sexually assaulting children was not. I really think SCOTUS was telling the Democrats that if they want to put Trump in prison you have to have laws that are different than they are now.
In the effort to ban Trump from the Colorado primary certain things were not met legally to permit it. Change those laws or conditions and you might stand a better chance of keeping him off the ballot. In the Presidential immunity decision the court used the term "official capacity" or something approximate. So... make sure that under certain conditions presidential actions are not official. Especially when it's a Republican. Like as soon as the election results are official (or whenever) the sitting president's actions are no longer official. It's a "wave of the hand" thing. It'd probably stick with the current courts. Posted by: Martini Farmer at July 09, 2024 04:52 PM (Q4IgG) 68

Well, Congress DOES have the power to "constitute tribunals inferior to the Supreme Court," but not to fool around with SCOTUS. If the GOPe had any balls - or paid any attention to the enumerated powers - and understood that General Police Powers are RESERVED (by the states) and not DELEGATED (to the feds), a GOP congress could just disestablish the entire lower federal court system. And, since the feds have no police powers, what need have they of courts, anyway?
Posted by: Alexander Scipio at July 09, 2024 04:56 PM (NX5U7) 82
Yeah, right. The legislative's only recourse to "control" the courts is through a constitutional amendment changing that portion of the constitution which SCOTUS cites as applicable.

The judiciary stole your power, Schumer, to define what immunity is by just inventing it (borrowing it from Common Law, sure). Go. Have your committees write down what governmental immunity actually is and pass it into law. I read elsewhere that Biden was talked out of running in 2016, and rationalized in his head that if he had run, he would have won and "saved" the world from Trump.
That might explain a lot of his irrational hatred of Trump -- he stole his slot! It also indicates that he will not back down now since he feels he deserves two terms. Not sure. It would be an ex post facto Bill of Attainder...
BOTH specifically, clearly, prohibited in and BY the Constitution. Even filing a single sheet of paper would be Impeachable under a conspiracy heading. DO IT! Get a handful of other Dems to sign it...ALL will be impeached, and they cannot vote on their OWN impeachments, thus will be convicted, removed from office, Repubs wil take over al Senate leadership positions, committees, and even though Most states allow the Governor to appoint a replacement senator, they cannot be sworn in until the Senate confirms them. Dems set the "rulebook" for super quick, instant impeachment processes, on strictly party line votes, with NO HEARINGS...do it by THEIR own Rules. https://constitution.findlaw.com/article1/annotation47.html Posted by: birdog at July 09, 2024 06:17 PM (lWs+l) 264
I wonder if cutting aid to Israel wouldn’t be a good thing long term. Right now Israel has to do what the UStells them to get that aid. This means letting Hamas and Hezbollah flourish.
So what if Israel says nah we’re good, And then destroys Hamas and Hezbollah once and for all. Long term it will save a lot of military spending, more than what they’d lose in American aid. Posted by: Biden is Finished at July 09, 2024 06:27 PM (wCYy7) 265
“”Checks and Balances.”
I will now conditionally support a newly elected President Trump exercising his Constitutional authority of checks and balances by drone strikes of upChuck. The condition is that he has to drone strike the awful and unfunny Amy at the same time. It’s a twofer. #Trump2024 Posted by: Misanthropic Misanthrope at July 09, 2024 06:33 PM (e3CH4) 266
Chuck Schumer will have "deemed", just like that dead roach from Nevada did back in the day.

Corrupt Chuck can do his electioneering from the Senate floor because Mitch McConnell is too tired and too close to his death bed to insult Chuck. One thing about Mitch, he won't make you work. John Thune can also be counted on to take the easy way out.

I wonder if all those NY and DC car jackers realize what a nice car ole Schumer drives?

There's also this little problem:
Congress is prohibited from passing ex post facto laws by clause 3 of Article I, Section 9 of the United States Constitution. But that little detail won't stop a Dem from moving ahead with it anyway. Posted by: Rick Happ at July 10, 2024 05:09 PM (6yUBg) Processing 0.03, elapsed 0.0419 seconds. |
