Perception Check Music Video of the Day

Every character in the video is a Hololive member. The human bard is Kureiji Ollie of Hololive Indonesia, who on hearing the song announced ME IN DnD. The long-suffering DM is Calliope Mori who is in fact the long-suffering DM of all of Hololive English's tabletop games.

12 Wow. That NixOS thing. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot? Sounds kind of like the old Opal CoC mess back in 2015 all over again. (opal/opal/issues/942 on GitHub)

Regarding brominated vegetable oils, I'd just as soon not have that when drinking a soda. Whenever I've visited Europe, I've noticed there's always a strange off-taste and feel to the sodas and juice drinks there and I attribute it to the brominated vegetable oils. I can definitely tell the difference on drinks that include it.

20 In a conversation recently, someone contested Hunter having done meth. I mentioned the meth teeth photos; was told those were non-dispositive. I guess I don't know. (The person did say, oh, I thought he did heroin, so we're kind of splitting hairs.)

57 Mornin' Horde, and Happy 4th!

Two days ago, my otherwise solid Lenovo laptop decided I needed a new graphics driver. Following that, apps wouldn't open, and windows would either lock up or crash. Most perplexing, it only happened while the laptop was plugged in. To make matters worse, there was no rollback option, and I couldn't find the previous driver anywhere.

Ultimately, I got some new drivers directly from AMD, which worked splendidly. Oh, and I turned off auto-updates from Lenovo.

86 Happy Independence Day, people of the USA!

Also, I experienced the kinks that need to be worked out by AI. Specifically, Angi's List was scheduling a plumber for me. Gave us different times. Gave him the city, based on zip code, and not my township. Based on the city, it decided that my street address was wrong and "fixed" it (there's a street in the city with the same name as my lane in a nearby township).

In the meantime, another installer was supposed to do measurements. I got a text to set up the time frame. When the time was missed, I texted the number to ask where he/she/it was. Bad move when dealing with nonhuman. My appointment was canceled and rescheduled for more than a week later... day before the holiday.

Luckily, the plumber knew a guy. I got my house in order and the guy got 100% of the money, not a percentage of the scheduler's fee.

96 Evening and morning, folken,

'Tis Thursday (right?). I took off yesterday, and that was relaxing . . . until my A/C began to fail in the afternoon. It runs and runs, but does not get the inside temp below about 75, and that was on a cloudy afternoon and evening. I turned off the A/C part and just ran the fan overnight, on the theory -- since it's happened before -- that the unit was icing up, and a defrost period might solve the issue. Yeah, it's not working. On a holiday, of course . . . and the imbeciles in the office may well be off tomorrow as well as the weekend.

I'm gonna have to buy a small window unit today or tomorrow, methinks.

I HATE this climate. No wonder the unit ices up. It runs eleven and a half months out of twelve.

97 @96/Wolfus Aurelius: If your air conditioner is icing up, that's a sign there's not enough refrigerant+oil in the system. Have it looked at and serviced.

98 Local TV news reports that over 30 residents of a Christian senior living community in Oakland have been beaten and robbed since June 25.

The savages found a rich vein to plunder.

Instant execution. No other way.

99 Well, shit. I administered a half dozen SUSE systems for years at work. Our software vendor operates in Europe and America, so they chose an OS with a presence in both markets. I haven’t put Linux on a PC yet so no openSUSE, but SUSE was easy to use. Now I’ll be rooting for their demise in a ball of painful fire.

100 The Nix nonsense I've seen multiple times on different sites whether it is discussion forums or anything else.

Leftoid follow the same patterns every time.

1) Demand moderator and administrator spots for 'representation' and 'diversity'

2) use those positions to start banning anybody they don't like, the common tactic is on forums that forbid political comments, to make blatant far left political statements but claim it'd 'just truth not politics', and ban anybody that tries to respond

3) Start accusing any remaining actual unbiased moderators of various bad behavior until you get them removed or they just quit

4) Take everything full leftoid

This pattern repeats.

Never, EVER give these lunatics am inch.
