The Morning Report — 6//13/24

melonibiden.jpg

Good Morning Kids. A full bevy of links for you this morning. As Joey Sponge-Brain Shits-Pants continues to Sundown in the west, where more and more people across the political spectrum can see it, as was on full display in his shambling meetup with Italian PM Meloni, the nation and much of the world is dragged under right along with him.

Apologies for the lack of my daily rant, but going forward I'll have some good days and not so good days. Shall endeavor to persevere and do better tomorrow. In any case, A huge shout out to those of you at the recent No VA Mo-Meetup for your wonderful get well card, and for everyone's thoughtfulness and prayers and also to all who have hit the tip jar. I've been behind in sending personal notes of thanks but I do want to acknowledge all the love and support.

NOTE: The opinions expressed in the links may or may not reflect my own. I include them because of their relevance to the discussion of a particular issue.

ALSO: The Morning Report is cross-posted at CutJibNewsletter.com if you want to continue the conversation all day.

25 Gramps said smokes was a nickle a pack, out of "ships stores" once they got out to sea. They were a dime back on shore for the civilian world.

One thing they never rationed during WWII in this country, was cigarettes. Gramps said, it didn't matter - you couldn't get 'em. I'm not sure that was entirely accurate, but I wonder how that worked. Troops sending ciggies back to the USA, more than likely. Free smokes for the troops, considered an act of kindness. Maybe.

29 "Gramps said smokes was a nickle a pack, out of "ships stores" once they got out to sea. "

Navy ships used to carry cigarettes that had a seal on each pack, where the State tax stamp would normally go on the top.

Read: Tax free, for sale and use outside the US.

These were known as "Sea Stores", and were brought up from the ships storeroom and sold when the ship exited US territorial waters. They were removed from the Ships Store, and no longer sold as soon as the ship re-entered US territorial waters.

I once bought an entire case of cigarettes an hour before entering US waters for $1.85 per carton.

At least that which is made public.

Many Hispanics and Black men will pull the lever for Trump this time. More still will stay home, which is half a vote for Trump.

Which is why the cheaters won't publish turnout numbers, for each Hispanic or Black man who statistically is expected to stay home, that is a ballot for whatever Democrat is alive and running in November.

If you don't vote, someone will assume your proxy and cast a ballot for you for how they think you should have voted.

44 America excelled at ciggies, bourbon whisky, and .... well nuclear weapons, I guess. A hershey bar was better than the fondly remembered Lindt bar, perhaps. GI American ciggies were the best, by most accounts.

Don't try to pick up the ladies with a "D" Ration bar. Invented by an Army supply specialist, he was instructed to make it taste "little better than a boiled potato". The idea was, every soldier has an emergency ration, an inspectable item. Something that tastes good, will get eaten during periods of boredom, etc.

Another one of those amorphous terms that has more utility as a trigger word than as descriptive noun.

A form of "voter suppression" is rarely ever associated with diluting legitimate votes with a flood of bogus ballots. If a person votes for X and ten ballots are made up out thin air for Y, that X vote is more than just cancelled.

We believe that all the people likely to have a negative response to our specific version of mRNA are either already dead from previous mRNA injections - probably from those fuckers at Pfizer - or are shell-shocked enough that they won't try and obtain these shots.

We further estimate that the inevitable flood of injuries cause by this shot won't become apparent for at least 2 years allowing several quarters of market capitalization and dividend for our shareholders... particularly those who might work in a legislative or regulatory capacity within the government.

This is a good sign. Keep him around. This has become my litmus test for a doctor. Not about a vaccine per se, but about anything. If you ask for more information about something, or decline something he recommended, does he get angry or frustrated or try to make a bullying hard sell, or does he accept it or make an alternate recommendation?

I get the former a lot more often than the latter. I don't have a GP - I just go to the doctor when I'm hurt or sick - but I'd say about 70% of them get visibly annoyed or worse when you don't just accept whatever they say with no follow-up.

Uh NO. Mostly Blacks don't vote, and everyone who does not vote is counted as a vote for a Democrat. This is the primary way Democrats steal elections.

In 2020 I was a poll watcher in a middle class, (homeowners), residential black district in Houston TX. In similar size white districts, there were thousands of votes cast. In the district I was in there were only 86 votes cast - with no early voters. Remember that was with Kamala on the ballot. You telling me that there were 100% turnouts for Biden in the ghettos in Atlanta, Philly, Detroit, and Milwaukee, the 4 cities that swung the election? Bull Shit.

We'll see. I'm not hopeful about it happening anytime reasonably soon.

SpaceX's failures are more spectacular - they blow up a lot of stuff and don't much care - but they turn them around fast. Boeing's old-fashioned and models everything possible first to prevent blow-ups, then iterate and do it again. It takes forever. It's also, based on budgets, not any cheaper than blowing it up often at the beginning.

>>The pessimist in me says the Left has practiced the Election Cheat in 2020 and 2022 and they are prepared for 2024.

In an environment where the donks are destroying everything they can get their hands on, you would think they would be getting their asses handed to them, but that's not happening.

They are winning most special elections around the country, when the Republican wins, the margins are becoming lower and lower.

The Democrats have enough control of voting apparatuses in enough locales and have a mechanized national ballot harvesting operation that is largely taxpayer funded and when its not taxpayer funded, they have a network of billionaires and the well connected to fund their operations, couple that with GOP shitting on their voters and largely demoralizing them generally so they don't come out to vote.

Listen a solid Republican who managed to got over 800k votes as AG in Kentucky, could barley scrape together 600k votes for Governor.

We're in a tough spot and I don't see it getting any better any time soon.

- Vanderbilt chancellor re: Harvard only goes halfway toward institutional neutrality
- Excerpt from David Zirin at the Nation complaining that sports media has gone completely silent on "the biggest story in the world: Israel's war on the civilians of Gaza" (gee, I wonder who he sides with?)

We may - may - have reached that moment where two of the Left's demographics have crossed streams and they have realized it's best *not* to get involved. We've been asking why CEOs, Hollywood stars, Sports journalists, etc. feel compelled to wade into every current political issue. The Israel/Hamas war may be the thing that causes many of them to remain silent.

Which is sad. This is genocide, and our self-appointed champions of the victims du jour may be content to sit on the sidelines.

The Gurkha went apeshit and annihilated the bandits. Killed around eight or so, wounded many more. The survivors were trampling each other to get OFF that train and away from the lunatic that was killing them John Wick style.

279 As the American government falls all over itself to involve America in foreign conflicts while allowing our own country to be flooded with shit-skins from the south and abroad, the younger generation of Americans are increasingly uninterested in fighting wars for globalists, corporate interests, and foreign counties.

In fact, the majority of Americans between 18-35 say they wouldn't even take up arms to protect his country from invasion. I don't blame them.

Just because some boomer that has already gotten to live out his life of excess while he destroyed the Christian underpinnings of America that provided liberty says you aren't a "patriot", doesn't mean you should be willing to go kill foreigners to "defend" your country.

Just what is exactly are they fighting for? The right to play hopscotch between piles of drug-addict feces on your way to your meaningless corporate job so you can pay taxes for shit-skin immigrants to live on welfare and pay your 40 years worth of usury to the banks?

"Revolutionize?" Really?

Liquid salt reactors aren't new. We built one at Oak Ridge in the 60s. Japan built one that went online in 2010. This isn't revolutionary. It isn't even new.

There are alse huge upsides to the concept. They're pretty safe, for one. They breed their own uranium, too. They also produce staggering amounts of waste heat (which can be an upside), the waste products are pretty gnarly (though can usually be reprocessed in the same complex, creating small amounts of *really* gnarly stuff) and, of course, the big downside: it's lousy for weapons production.

Why was this old technology never rolled out when it's cheaper, very good at producing power, has manageable downsides and can be integrated into combined-energy plants? Because it's not good for dual-purpose use. If you want nukes, you don't build these kinds of reactors.

Yup: "It’s Not Your Imagination: The Journalists Writing About Antifa Are Often Their Cheerleaders"
In October 2018, my research partner and I decided to investigate the truth of this impression by using a mix of network mapping and linguistic analysis to see which prominent journalists who covered Antifa also were closely connected to leading Antifa figures on social media. We then inspected the Antifa-related stories these journalists had written.

We created a data set of 58,254 Antifa or Antifa-associated Twitter accounts based on the follows of 16 verified Antifa seed accounts... we winnowed the 58,254 Antifa or Antifa-associated Twitter accounts down to 962 accounts. This represents a core group of Twitter users who are connected in overlapping ways to the most influential and widely followed Antifa figures. Of these 962 accounts, 22 were found to be verified—of which 15 were journalists who work regularly with national-level news outlets.

314 Joe Biden is an open invitation for Russia or China to believe that right now is the time to launch a nuclear strike against America.

Interestingly Russia has been rather restrained all things considered. But they are intentionally bleeding us dry in Ukraine.

Why China hasn't moved on Taiwan yet is a different question. I assume they are worried that Taiwan itself could stop the initial landing and then they'd be stuck at war with an island they couldn't take. How Europe/US would handle that would be fascinating. Since most of the elites are owned by China or have business interests there, these elites would push for the west to ignore China's aggression, but the Russian model would not only have sanctions and arrest warrants for Chinese leaders, but for these same Western elites on their payroll.

Casey seeks $565,000 for the LGBT Center of Greater Reading to "support access to mental health care for underserved populations," according to his June 5 earmark request to a Senate appropriations subcommittee.

FYI, the following day, June 6, 2024, PA Star-Capitol reported, 'Casey announces $400,000 for Philadelphia LGBTQ+ health and wellness center (Mazzoni Center).'

And there's already a Central PA LGBT Center in Harrisburg. In fact, the PA Youth Congress Org directory has an array of such programs statewide, more than I ever imagined in existence.

I think Senator John Fetterman, Taylor Swift should be asked about their take on this. Better yet, ask Casey and Governor Shapiro where the hell is support for charter schools, access to the academically best public schools & teachers, etc. Money has been tossed at the educational & youth systems for decades but becomes 'lost' somewhere along the line, making it only to the selected. BTW, all of the beforementioned, and their children, are from the well-to-do community, private school set.

335 Saint of the day:
St. Anthony of Padua (1195-1231) was born in Lisbon, Portugal. At age 15 he relinquished a life of nobility, wealth and chose instead to serve God with the Augustinians. Filled with zeal to follow Christ more completely after the example of martyrs, St. Anthony joined the Franciscan order and traveled to Morocco to preach to the Moors. However, his poor health prevented his mission and he was forced to return to Italy. There he lived a largely quiet and secluded life, spending his time in prayer, study, and priestly duties. He then became the foremost preacher of the Franciscans and was sent to preach against the heretics. His zeal and effectiveness as a preacher earned him the title "Hammer of the Heretics." St. Anthony was known for his holiness and miracles, and was declared a Doctor of the Church in 1946. He is the patron saint of the elderly, fishermen, and the poor, and is renowned as the finder of lost articles.

In Canada we are being recommended to get our covif shot every 6 months. I have had five i all together. I was surprised. I will be going for my 6th in a few weeks.

AOC and the Squad don't look like Boomers. The mischief in government is caused by Gen-X, Mills and now Gen Z (Boomers retired ages ago)

We gave you Reagan, you gave yourself Obama and Biden.

401 If they weren't really orbiting the moon, this wouldn't have been possible, and everybody tracking them around the world would have known this, is my understanding.

One of the interesting sidelights of Apollo 11 was a skeptic who managed to get a pass to mission control after the mission. He was in an elevator when Buzz Aldren and the head of NASA got on board. They were having a conversation about the 1201 computer errors the Eagle flight computer kept reporting. The NASA head explained they were overload errors which the computer fixed by re-booting. Aldren asked him why they didn't tell them what they were, and the boss said "Too little time, and didn't want to distract you during the landing".

The skeptic thought to himself, "These guys have no idea who I am, this conversation is real, they actually went to the moon."

403 353 FBI agent Erica Jensen told the court last week that IRS and FBI investigators obtained a covert search warrant for Hunter’s Apple iCloud account on April 16, 2019, coincidentally just four days after Hunter had abandoned his laptop at Mac Isaac’s Wilmington repair store.
------------------------------
If I understand the timeline properly, Miranda Devine breaks news here, in that this search warrant was issued before the gun charges, the tax charges and before the FBI even knew of the abandoned laptop. At this stage, only Mac Isaac knew of it and he was puzzling over what he should do with it.

But the FBI had some sort of active investigation going, involving Hunter Biden. What were they investigating? And what was the disposition?

408 We shouldn't be lulled into a false sense of complacency about this election. From where I sit, based on all the polls and "fundamentals" I've covered, Trump is in a much stronger position to win in 2024 than he was in 2020 or even 2016. But this is still a victory we're going to have to fight tooth and nail to win because we know that Democrats will stop at nothing to preserve their own power — especially when it comes to stopping Donald Trump.

There’s Something Fishy About FiveThirtyEight’s Election Projection Model

I am still worried about the Deep State's ace in the hole being the rigging and steal of Texas. They have made massive inroads in Texas over the past 2 Presidential elections. What was a 1.2mil vote (+16%) GOP lead in 2012 was reduced to 631k (+6%) lead in 2020.

With the tens of millions of illegals imported over the past few years, the 631k vote deficit is well within range for a Deep State steal. Everyone is looking at states like Michigan, I hope we're not ignoring vulnerability in Texas.
