Out in California, Delilah's sister Miss Dot (Ch. Soyara's Crowning Glory) has given birth to two boys and three girls.
It is the culmination of three years of work to get her pregnant. They tried natural cover, they tried artificial insemination, they tried surgical implanting semen. Nothing worked. It wasn't until they were away on a trip and the inattentive kennel help let her dig out of her pen and mate with one of the (we think) Borzoi males.
Anyway, Mama and babies are doing well, we're told. It'll take a DNA test to determine who Daddy is.

Agreed, but I'm skeptical they're gone forever. The GT3 Touring with a manual was produced after the unexpected popularity of the 911R. I'm guessing Porsche makes the "base" 911 in 2025 and then we'll see special editions/variants.

Yep, first it was every gauge except the tach went digital, now they've gone fully digital.
If it's like years past, they'll gradually roll out the other trims and those will have manual options. I hope.
Regardless, I'd still take an older, smaller, more analog 911 anyway.

The T is my favorite. It's what I think a street 911 is all about. The GT3 and Turbo models are great but to me Porsche's have never been dragsters, they are sports cars with manageable speed. Where the hell am I going to drive 170 MPH? I'd cross the entire state of RI in 15 minutes.
They are already getting bigger than I would like but an automatic has zero appeal for me. But then I would rather have my old 914 back than any of them.

That is funny because the three things that made American Exceptionalism is Gunpowder, Printing Press and Calvinism.
Without Calvinism, you end up with a Man Is Inherently Good sentiments which make it easier for evil to circulate. "Oh, he is just backslidden, like the prodigal son, he will return" and letting those kind of people rule.

But I've had opportunity to roughly drive two dual-clutch performance cars and you can't shift that fast. You can't.
Put them in Sport mode and use the paddle shifters and you're instantly an animaniac. It''s awesome in its perfection.
The only downside is the feeling of loss of control. It's almost too perfect.

It absolutely was - part of the narrative was based on the Slender Man attempted murder case, and thus you get not one but two possessed young girls. By the same demon apparently. And it gets worse from there.
Nobody involved in the writing or production seemed to have any sense of Christianity in general, or even what constitutes an exorcism. Plus, you've got Ellen Burstyn from the original film show up in conjunction with a book tour showcasing her daughter's own possession and screeching that the real problem here is not the demon, "it's the patriarchy." She literally says that in the movie. And the demonic forces have enhanced powers - one of the young girl's souls is taken directly to Hell, which kinda nullifies a lot of theological understanding. 1 of 2

I found out this spring that Tenino Washington was not named for the Chinook word for Valley, but was instead named by the rail road for a local depot, and was named after a Columbia river steamer.
The steamer was named after a small band of Indians that lived on the Columbia.

And that's only the most glaring defects of the film. The studio paid out 400 million for the rights to the IP from the original film and novel, and got the geniuses that did the final three Halloween films to commit to a trilogy. They only had a working title for the first two: Exorcist: Believer and Exorcist: Deceiver. The box office and the critical reception was so awful that the trilogy plan was scrapped.
Now it looks like they got a sucker to buy them out.

Should make tons more power, you'd think. That's more boost than a 2024 Turbo in the same size engine. Nope, it makes barely more power than the old GTS; all those changes go into making the engine meet some new German law requiring engines to stay at the stoichiometric fuel/air ratio at all times. No going lean for economy - too much NOx! No going rich for power - too much CO2!

Nearly everything wrong with post 1970 cars, up to and including the ugly styling, can be blamed on federal regulations. The remainder can be blamed on auto executives, who didn't fight the regs very hard, even when we built nearly all our cars here and they had serious economic leverage, because the regs were a good excuse as to why they had to charge more and more..effectively mandatory high option high profit cars

It's not terrible.. Hubby knows who I am & where he is & all that. It's just that his short-term memory is kaput and he can't be relied upon to self-administer his meds. He can't "think fast" nor "move fast" so driving is out.
Physically, he's 'okay'... but tends to not do much, which doesn't help his stamina. He uses cane or walker, so at least isn't bedridden. Gah, I won't be able to care for him at that stage, so pray he doesn't get that bad!

Up until the 80s in northern Mississippi there was an event simply called "Decoration." It wasn't on Memorial Day or tied into anything Civil War-related. It was simply a day that members of a given denomination would visit the graves of their loved ones and put out flowers.
Because it was tied into different denominations, different days were set aside for the event to avoid overlap and possible doctrinal wrangling.
Which brings to mind, somehow, one of the funnier religious occasions I witnessed. After a funeral service the minister was standing at the exit shaking hands with congregation members. The little old lady in front of me told the minister that she "really enjoyed that funeral." He was at a loss for words, as was I.

That's almost certainly what she was trying to convey. She was a nice woman and very devout. It just caught the minister and those within hearing range off guard for a moment. I have to wonder what response he was considering, though. Best I'd be able to do in his position would be "Un, thank you?"
