Never get into an argument with a man who buys shampoo by the barrel. Vtuber Music Video of the Day My single favourite song from Hololive, and they've recorded a lot of songs. The English branch by itself has something like 400 entries on the playlist. Amazing that this came out of the mouth of a rat who even speaks Japanese with a thick Australian accent. Evening and morning on a Sunday in May to all the early and late people!
MIss LInda dragged me to what was labeled as "A Champagne Stroll" in an uptown shopping district. HOrdes (no, not our kind) of people strolling up and down, drinking from sample go-cups of champagne and wine dispensed for free at various stores; occasionally bits of cooked food (actually rather good) were available, esp. from the local grocery who was a co-sponsor. The weather was not terrible. But being out in crowds like that is boring for me. I did stop at one of the local cigar-and-pipe stores. The clerk was pleasant, but he knew nothing much about pipes, and I didn't have a burning desire to buy anything. I'd have loved to bring a pipe and a book, buy an ounce of some leaf, and just hang out there while L. trotted around. But I don't like leaving her alone in crowds. Tried to get my doc to take out my appendix when I had my resection done. Nope, wouldn't do it. After reading about nurse's experience I guess it isn't a big deal if caught in time. I'm thinking they should just put in 3 zippers where my scars are, they've been used 3 times already.
Posted by: neverenoughcaffeine at May 12, 2024 07:45 AM (2NHgQ) --- During my first resection, the doc went ahead and took out the appendix because it was there. If I recall, the ColecoVision console, one of the early generations, had an attachment module that would allow you to play the Atari 2600's games on it. The latter had a much larger library, even if it got to be shovelware.
The module was an Atari 2600, chips and all, packed into a smaller form factor that simply attached to the ColecoVision bus for video and some other I/O. Posted by: Another Anon at May 12, 2024 11:19 AM (QNMaY) 195
The asus stuff is actually recent news for me. I bought a decent asus chromebook for my daughter late last year refurbished for about $400. Mostly for schoolwork. She smashed the screen so step 1 was buying the cheapest replacement which I found for about $100. 2nd I tried to get it the broken one repaired. I knew it would be costly, but asus wanted $1200 to repair it. Yeah, no.
Instead, I'm taking it to a big repair chain nearby that has a monthly subscription. I get it back in a month then cancel the membership. Posted by: banana Dream at May 12, 2024 11:26 AM (Y6IkP) 196
I have an Asus notebook computer, which I bought at Microcenter four years ago for around $200, to serve as my traveling computer. On Day 1, I nuked Windows and installed Ubuntu Linux; works like a charm (though I did need to find a driver for the wifi chip). Works fine for the limited tasks I do on it - web browsing, email, some word processing, playing music or movies. I've taken it to Canada, Ireland, Spain, and Egypt, as well as around the US, and it's given good service everywhere. (The recharger works with either 110 or 220, so all I needed for Europe and Egypt was a plug adapter.) About a year ago, the battery started to give out, so with the help of a YouTube video, I replaced it myself with one I bought off Amazon for $20. Works great. I'd buy another one without hesitating.
