The latest jobs report released Friday revealed a slowdown in job growth and an increase in unemployment from the month of April, highlighting the continued failure of Bidenomics. The economy added a mere 175,000 jobs in April, falling short of economists' expectations, while the unemployment rate rose to 3.9 percent.

Increasing taxes on capital gains and income-based wealth would reduce racial wealth inequality for black and Hispanic families, the Treasury Department outlined in the analysis published in mid-March. The Treasury points out that white families disproportionately hold assets subject to capital gains tax or are in a higher tax bracket, meaning a hike in those taxes would benefit black and Hispanic families.
The Biden administration argues for taxing capital income for high-income earners at "ordinary rates," increasing the top rate from 37% to 39.6% for those who earn more than $1 million a year. Taxes on net investment income would also be hiked by 1.2 percentage points to 5% for those who make over $400,000 per year, bringing the total top marginal rate to 44.6%.
"Taxing capital gains at 44.6% at the federal level -- not to mention state taxes -- would be economic suicide," Preston Brashers, research fellow for tax policy in the Heritage Foundation's Grover M. Hermann Center for the Federal Budget, told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

When I was learning arithmetic, a teacher told me about dividing fractions, "if it doesn't make sense, turn it around and look at it again."

I found "four times one-half" puzzling but "one-half, four times" was immediately clear to me. The answer was simply, "two." Flipping it around and looking at it again helped me see how it worked.

That advice has been useful in much more than arithmetic. Flip it around, and look at it again. "Increasing taxes on capital gains and income-based wealth would reduce racial wealth inequality for black and Hispanic families" is the same as "Increasing taxes on capital gains and income-based wealth would increase the burden on non-black, non-Hispanic families" - that is, essentially, on white and Asian families.

Which, as a motivation, is illegal. Race-based law is illegal in this country, even if proxied. Too bad we're post-law.

If only 175,000 jobs were "Created", how many "Newcomers" were allowed in?
It seems as is there was only ONE job created for every 3-4 "New Workers" brought into the country. Current workers are LOSING their jobs, "New" residents are getting them, just as current renters are LOSING their housing, while "New" residents are getting paid by tax funds to move into those places.(women and minorities effected most)

More than half the gains were in medical and social services. That's not good, as both of those sectors are both already far too big and consuming an unsustainable amount of the economy - and are the only parts growing meaningfully.

When they report these payroll employment numbers, are they including only employment for American citizens? Or does this include all the jobs outsourced to India and Mexico and Brazil as contract worker positions, such as what my old company Stellantis has been doing for 3 years now?
