The Saturday Night Jokes

A man owned a small farm. The Labor Department determined he was not paying proper wages to his staff and sent an investigator out to interview him.

"I need a list of your employees and how much you pay them!", demanded the investigator.

"Well," replied the farmer, "there's my farm hand who's been with me for three years. I pay him $200 a week plus free room and board.

"The cook has been here for 18 months, and I pay her $150 per week plus free room and board."

"Then there's the halfwit. He works about 18 hours every day and does about 90% of all the work around here. He makes about $10 a week. He pays his own room and board, and I buy him a bottle of whiskey every Saturday night. He also sleeps with my wife occasionally."

"That's the guy I want to talk to...the halfwit!" said the agent.

"That would be me," replied the farmer. (H/T Hadrian the Seventh)

Tonight's Second Course.................

WHAT'S THE GENDER OF THE COMPUTER?

A language instructor was explaining to her class that in French, nouns unlike their English counterparts, are grammatically designated as masculine or feminine. "House," in French, is feminine - "la maison." "Pencil," in French, is masculine - "le crayon."

One puzzled student asked, "What gender is the computer?" The teacher did not know, and the word wasn't in her French dictionary. So for fun she split the class into two groups, appropriately enough by gender, and asked them to decide whether "computer" should be a masculine or feminine noun.

Both groups were required to give four reasons for their recommendation.

The men's group decided that computers should definitely be of the feminine gender ("la computer"), because:

1. No one but their creator understands their internal logic.

2. The native language they use to communicate with other computers is incomprehensible to everyone else.

3. Even the smallest mistakes are stored in long-term memory for possible later retrieval.

4. As soon as you make a commitment to one, you find yourself spending half your pay check on accessories for it.

The women's group, however, concluded that computers should be masculine ("le computer"), because:

1. In order to get their attention, you have to turn them on.

2. They have a lot of data but they are still clueless.

3. They are supposed to help you solve problems, but half the time they ARE THE PROBLEM.

4. As soon as you commit to one, you realize that if you'd waited a little longer, you could have gotten a better model.

The women won!(H/T TNDeplorable)

The ONT Musical Interlude & Recreational Emporium

The World Mourns Reggae Icon Bob Marley
On this day in music, May 11, 1981, reggae pioneer Bob Marley died in Miami, following a lengthy battle with melanoma. The Jamaican singer-songwriter was instrumental in popularizing his country’s music with a global audience, thanks to his irresistible fusion of reggae, ska, and rocksteady. Just 36 at the time of his death, Marley left behind an impressive – and enduring – catalog of music, while his greatest hits album, Legend remains the best-selling reggae album of all time. Marley received numerous accolades before and after his death, including a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award and Jamaica’s Order of Merit, recognizing his contributions to the arts. Ever the poet, Marley’s last words to his son Ziggy were “money can’t buy life.” via thisdayinmusic.com

Florida Man, 46, Arrested For Road Rage Al Dente

The victim in the drive-by attack, cops say, was hit in the “arms, legs, and torso” by a road-raging Florida motorist.

But the male escaped without injury because he was only struck by “pasta w/ sauce,” according to a police report.

Cops allege that Nolan Goins, 46, was involved in a road rage incident “over glaring headlights” Thursday night while driving near his St. Petersburg residence.

Back to 'Train to Busan - Peninsula.' Fun South Korean zombie movies.

I've been watching more 'horror movies' lately, but they haven't been that bad. I've looked up lists of the scariest.

'Five Nights at Freddy's' was pretty good. Liked 'M3gan' and loved 'The Black Phone'...Violet McGraw was in 'M3gan'and her sister Madeleine won a Golden Chainsaw award for her fantastic performance in 'The Black Phone.' Back when I was on IG, I followed Madeleine. Sweetest family. Funny that the girls are in horror franchises.

Anyways back to 'Busan.' I think the pussification of our culture has drifted down to horror movies.

The cops went to the trouble of doing DNA analysis for a plain vanilla residential burglary? Must've been the mayor's house.

I was the victim of an apartment burglary in Chicago once. The burglar dropped a prescription bottle with his name on it (assuming he hadn't stolen it). The cops wouldn't even seize the prescription bottle as evidence. Said I'd been watching too many crime shows on TV.

Of course, this was 50 years ago, so I'm sure such lazy, incompetent police work in Chicago is a thing of the past by now. /s

I was worried she might have something like I had lately. Relieved to read it was "only" appendicitis.

Yesterday I saw a Golden Jackal and a Pygmy Cormorant. And it seemed like a romantic movie with two dudes. One of my favorite students, Winnie, was in the seats in front of me. I tapped her on the shoulder, she turned around to see my 'What the hell is going on?' look.

She did the universal swishy hands gay thing. I audibly went 'ughhh' because what the hell were the kids seeing this for? And a part of me died that day.

Back to the gay zombie movie thing I was enjoying up to 5 minutes ago. Would have been a great series of films. Let it burn

IIRC, it started under one of his toenails. Mr. TiFW had a line under one of his fingernails that he thought was fungus. Thankfully, his dermatologist saw it and didn't like what he saw. Got it while it was still in situ.

Given that he was a black man, I can't imagine that Mr. Marley or any of his doctors saw his until it had already spread into other parts of his body.

Melanoma under any nail does NOT have a good prognosis once it has started to spread. If you ever see any dark discoloration on any of your nails, PLEASE have it looked at/monitored. If the diilscoloration has jumped across the nail to the cuticle, insist on an appointment sooner rather than later.

Mr. TiFW's mother was very nice when she told him, "I TOLD you you needed to have that looked at!" 🤣🤣🤣

In the old days it was a simple "McBurney's" incision which provides good exposure for performing open appendectomies and is made obliquely at the McBurney point, two-thirds from the umbilicus to the anterior superior iliac spine.

Now adays the go with the Laparoscopic Appendectomy with 3 small holes and less dissection's of the overlying muscle masses.
