The review shows the Navy’s Block IV Virginia [attack] submarines, which were bought from fiscal 2014 to 2018, are running 36 months behind schedule…. [T]he Block V [Virginia class] boats bought from FY19 to FY23 projected to be about 24 months behind schedule….So the question becomes, when we get kicked in the teeth, and the way the armed forces are being hollowed out, we will, how will we as a country respond?
The Navy’s next nuclear-powered aircraft carrier…is also delayed. The future Enterprise, CVN-80, is expected to deliver 18 to 26 months late….As a result, the Navy is delaying buying subsequent ships CVNs 82 and 83, pushing their procurement from FY28 to FY30….
The first Constellation frigate, built in Wisconsin by Fincantieri’s Marinette Marine shipyard, will deliver 36 months later than its contractual delivery date….
As for the more mature surface ship production lines — the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock and America-class amphibious assault ships at Ingalls Shipbuilding, the Arleigh Burke-class destroyers at Ingalls and General Dynamics’ Bath Iron Works and the John Lewis-class oiler at General Dynamics’ NASSCO — the Navy notes these ships are predicted to deliver later than what’s outlined in their contracts.

Yes, I know you’re upset because there is a binary choice, and I know all the clichés about not wanting to choose the lesser of two evils but guess what? You’re faced with the choice between the lesser of two evils. That’s just the choice that exists. It might not be fair. You might not like it, but that’s what it is. And you’ve got to choose. Not choosing is choosing. Not choosing is choosing Joe Biden. And if you choose Joe Biden, you’re choosing a lot of deaths just because of his border betrayal.I know every election is “the most important of our lifetime”. Bullshit. They can't all be the most important. I don't like Trump. I think he's a thin-skinned narcissist for whom this entire campaign is a personal vendetta because his feelings are hurt. They could have arrested him at the Clinton National Airport, where he served as executive director. They could have pulled him over on his way home and arrested him in his vehicle. They could have called Malinowski’s attorney and told him to turn in his client. If agents were dead set on confronting Malinowski at his home, a callout would have been much safer for all involved. Once the home was surrounded, agents could have contacted Malinowski on his cellphone — they knew the number since they had a warrant to search his phone — and ordered him to come out with his hands up. If he didn’t answer his phone, a bullhorn would have sufficed. A video from a neighbor’s doorbell camera shows that agents arrived at Malinowski’s home in 10 separate vehicles. If they would have activated the emergency lights in all of these squad cars, Malinowski’s entire neighborhood would have been bathed in red flashing lights. Malinowski would have known immediately there were law enforcement officers stacked outside his home and not criminal home invaders. Finally, agents could have simply slowed down and waited for Malinowski to answer the door, rather than breaching and storming in, which caused the armed confrontation. “Absent exigent circumstances (danger of losing evidence-drugs down the toilet; propensity for violence or escape) case law requires law enforcement officers to give dwelling occupants a reasonable time to come to the door and let them in,” Malinowski’s family said in their statement. Unfortunately, ATF’s raid planners chose the most dangerous option — the one tactic most likely to end in gunfire — that any seasoned tactical officer would utilize only as a final course of action, after all else had failed.I don't think enough people realize that this raid, or Ruby Ridge, or Waco or dozens of other raids, is not to peacefully resolve a possible crime with an arrest and trial, it's to demonstrate that the government can and will attack and kill you if it wants to, so better do just what they say.

The scene where the Vault dwellers are trying to decide what to do with the Raider prisoners is very subversive. They all want to "rehabilitate" them, except Rico from Hannah Montana (Moises Arias).
Darkly hilarious.
They are doing a decent job so far.
Definitely true to the spirit of the franchise.

Years ago my wife was clothes shopping in a small shop in a small town. Another lady was there with her young son, not sure of age but 5'ish. He kept bugging his mom he had to pee, she finally told him to go outside, she might have meant stand outside, do not know. Well the kid walks out, pulls it out and pees into the street from the sidewalk. I will say that kid did need to go, very impressive stream. Mom of course was mortified.

What I want is for Trump and his team to make a firm decision (preferably as well-informed as possible) on whether to emphasize the steal or not. Get some focus groups, some straw polling, whatever, do your best to figure out if making it an issue hurts or helps the campaign, and proceed on that basis. Do whatever you have to not to get rolled, and stick to it.

The Pentagon has a solution to all these delays though. They will appoint a blue ribbon commission to pay a consulting group to study the problem and issue a report concluding that these programs are delayed because things aren't getting built fast enough. Taxpayers will pay $300 million for it.

Noticing the odd way they divided the factions I wonder if they were intentionally trying to make it so it wasn't a real left v right scenario - they mix red and blue states into the various camps.

Beautiful Spring day here. I had the garage door up and was carrying groceries inside when I almost stepped on a three foot long snake that was making his way into the garage.

Well your logic really sucks. If Trump has a revenge plan then the last thing he should do is tell us what those plans are. By all means give the targets plenty of time to make plans, destroy evidence, etc. The smart plan is to make it that the first inkling of a revenging Trump is the 'knock a la BATF' on the door at 3AM, literally or figuratively. Fitted a small rocker switch to bypass the governor, which does not turn, owing to the fact that the plastic worm gear on the transmission tailshaft is quite bereft of teeth. Using the rocker switch, the OD performs as it should. The car can be driven as it is. I have another OD transmission at home. Will check it out, and either do another swap, or rob the worm out of it. Transmission has to be out of the car to tear it down to the point the worm can be replaced.

The one essential thing to know about OJ's murder trial in 1995. Really, the ONLY thing you need to know in order to understand the acquittal:

It's too late to remember names but two testifing cop partners contradicted each other. The lab tech supervisor had retired and they took testimony from a barely concious man who recanted every thing he said. Then there was mistake Furman that's all I can remember this late off the top.

The only reason the owners (unless they are skilled race drivers) dont immediately kill themselves in these 700-1000 hp vehicles is because of the traction control\ stability control\wheelspin control with all the modern computer controlled stuff. On most cars today they are like F-16s, you use the controls to tell the computer what you would like to do and the computer decides whether to do it and when. Sometimes they give you a bypass that supposedly shuts the controls off, but I bet it really doesn't. That's the kind of power Funny Cars had when they started.

The Pentagon has a solution to all these delays though. They will appoint a blue ribbon commission to pay a consulting group to study the problem and issue a report concluding that these programs are delayed because things aren't getting built fast enough. Taxpayers will pay $300 million for it.

As someone who's worked in both the public and private sector, it's even simpler than that. You reach out for the "expert" or "experts" and the conclusion that they are expected to "discover" is the unspoken part of the contractual agreement.
Never high enough in the hierarchy to have done this myself, but it was common knowledge in both realms. The only difference is that my boss in the public sector owned up to it. You not only get who you pay for; you're also getting what you're paying them to find.
I'm not saying that there aren't real genuine and ethical experts in various fields out there, just that it's extremely rare in a corporate or institutional setting to hire those folks.
