I love classic still life paintings from the Low Country artists with their incredible detail and brilliant colors. I can spend hours looking at them. Inflation report hammers Fed rate cut bets, sends stocks sharply lower
U.S. inflation pressures quickened again last month, with core price pressures also rising past Wall Street forecasts, a reading that will cast further doubt on market bets for a June interest rate cut from the Federal Reserve. The headline consumer price index for March was pegged by the Commerce Department at 3.5%, rising from the prior month's tally of 3.2% and coming in ahead of Wall Street's 3.4% consensus forecast. On a monthly basis, inflation edged 0.4% higher, matching the 0.4% gain in February but also coming in ahead of Wall Street's 0.3% forecast. .. These officials knew that the Chinese lab was proposing to create a COVID 19-like virus and not one of these officials revealed this scheme to the public. In fact, 15 agencies with knowledge of this project have continuously refused to release any information concerning this alarming and dangerous research. Government officials representing at least 15 federal agencies were briefed on a project proposed by Peter Daszak’s EcoHealth Alliance and the Wuhan Institute of Virology. ... there is a "Denied Persons List" maintained by the Department of Commerce Posted by: SMOD at April 10, 2024 09:55 AM (RHGPo) 135

So the mystery deepens with voter registrations in Texas.
The SSA is saying, since the start of the year, that around a quarter of a million people are registering to vote in Texas every two weeks, with a roughly quarter of those registrations coming back as dead people or at least the SSN being used to register are dead, but the Texas SOS just issued a statement saying that Texas to date has only added 57k people to their voter rolls this year. It’s fedgov. Do you think they’re competent enough to produce such data? I’m asking seriously.
Posted by: Montec at April 10, 2024 10:05 AM (tpjlM) ++++ Yes. Not always, but in this case, yes. There are three things in the FedGov that produce *very* reliable data and one thing that usually does a pretty good job, all because they have to. Those things are: 1. Internal Revenue Service 2. Social Security Administration 3. Department of Health and Human Services 4. The US Census Bureau Their data aren't always *correct,* but they are always "good" - as in, reliably collected and comprehensively reported. They have to be. The first is because it's where the money comes from and the primary means of broad-spectrum control, the next two because those are where the money *goes* and is a major means of broad-spectrum control, and the fourth because it determines where the politicians will be based and how much cash is doled out to keep people in line. Those four agencies, at least, have good data. They don't always share it and they are never (of course, because nothing ever is) perfectly accurate, but they are comprehensive. I was once doing some consulting work for a client that needed to call a fedgov open API. It wasn’t working, some errors were thrown. We tried to get in touch with someone who could help out. It took a week before someone got back. And that someone had no idea what the issue was. We finally figured it out ourselves, turned out it was a syntax error on our part. But you’d think something simple like that could have been figured out by their “support” team.
It’s things like this that make me question anything fedgov related. Data accuracy included. Posted by: Montec at April 10, 2024 10:16 AM (tpjlM) 206

It’s things like this that make me question anything fedgov related. Data accuracy included. Posted by: Montec at April 10, 2024 10:16 AM (tpjlM) ++++ Indeed, and I dig it. Anything "open" is going to suck, especially in the government. No money in it. But things like SSA queries (for numbers and status, anyway) are restricted systems and I'd be willing to bet that the SSA charges for access if you're a qualified user (a state government, a third-party background check company, etc.). Agencies like SSA *must* have reliable data or the wheels fly off the entire federal government. The data are less reliable than ever (ironic, given the ease of data transfer and scale of ingest sources that we have now at shockingly low cost), but they're still consistent and comprehensive. There's a likely connection between the 20 - 30 million illegals that've poured over the border and the number of SSA registrations being reported... at least the number of registrations, or attempted ones since 2020.
FedGov is allowing them to obtain driver's licenses. In some states, the "RealID" license. Those require a number of forms of ID, including a social security card, among other IDs. I believe the illegals can substitute some sort of immigration form, but I'll bet most have a bogus SSN assigned to them. In the 2020 election, I got *five* ballots delivered to my apartment. Two were for previous tenants. I had lived in that apartment for close to a decade and had never gotten a ballot for a previous tenant before, but I did in 2020. I also got three for me: - Joe Mannix - Joseph Mannix - Joseph R. Mannix I have no clue where the extra two registrations came from. I have used all three names (with the associated "Declaration of One and the Same" forms), but I only registered once. Somehow, other variants of my name - all with my address - ended up in the registration system. My guess is "automation run amok" and everyone is pretty happy with that because of fraud potential. A fairly common name & a death certificate.
Dad had a common 'Irish' given & surname & died prior to obtaining "old age." Someone or group got a hold of his SSN & my mother had to argue for many years he was dead because she was drawing a small pension from civil service and dad would have gotten SS. "Double dipping" on the part of a Fed was a huge deal when it came to pension factoring. She wasn't the only widow who spent decades trying to straighten out finances. New York Post
@nypost Gene Hackman, 94, spotted in new photos wearing nearly identical outfit from weeks earlier - Burn the witch! (Gene does not look good.) https://shorturl.at/klvH6 Posted by: Anonosaurus Wrecks, Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy? at April 10, 2024 10:53 AM (FVME7) If only...follow me here...there were a way for people to clean clothing that they've worn, instead of just wearing dirty clothing over and over again or having to buy the exact same outfit over and over. Why then people could wear the same clothes, but. they'd. be. clean!!!!1111!!!! Unfortunately, that technology doesn't exist according to that fine paper of record the New York Post and probably never will. Sad. Posted by: naturalfake at April 10, 2024 11:05 AM (nFnyb) 294
