2 The place we just moved into, one of the first things we saw out back was a white rabbit bumbling around being a rabbit. So we called him the Easter Bunny.

But we also call him Skidmark because he has a little brown stripe just on his butt....

But for today, he can just be the Easter Bunny.

11 Though I did buy some cooked ham at Aldi yesterday. You get a good-sized packet of lunch meat for less than $3.00 there. I use it for my lunch at work and it lasts quite a while.

13 As soon as it gets light, I plan to check on the car's tires, drive out to the car wash and get the big Buick clean, and -- most important -- polish and wax the roof. I might do more panels, but the roof is the toughest part for me to reach and apply effort to. Soon it will be too hot and humid for me to do complete hand waxing. I should have made a start on it on Friday when we had the cool and relatively dry conditions.

23 This is truly a Blessed Easter for us. Tomorrow is the 5th Anniversary of wife's Whipple surgery for pancreatic cancer.

Had one doctor (wound dr.) mention that patients rarely make it 5 years after the procedure. He was good doc but that was a douchebag comment to make.

44 Well, it's 3:41 a.m. here on the left coast.

Day drinking has begun and I foresee some quiet crying and terribly missing my wife who is TDY, serious pain from my accident Friday night, hand washing and ironing my scrubs for the coming week. Mostly drinking and crying though. Damn, am I useless. Looking at the prayer list and saying prayers and realizing how pathetic I am compared to people that have real problems. God bless them.

He was trying to set realistic expectations. The real d-bag was my mom's surgeon. She had stage 4 kidney cancer, mets all over. I had already set the stage that it was bad and they needed to reorient their lives, to make every day matter, that she would only make 18 months at best. D bag surgeon who took her kidney out said she would live a normal lifespan. They spent the next year pissed at me, until it became clear I was right and she declined over the next 6 months and died 18 months after I told them she only had 18 months to live. But they wasted an entire year not talking to me and living life as if nothing was wrong.

While doing errands yesterday Mrs. JTB and I both noticed that many people were saying "Have a wonderful Easter" or words to that effect. And to strangers they met at check out lines or in the aisles. It didn't sound like they were discussing an Easter egg hunt but something special. Hadn't noticed that in previous years.

102 There are different ways to express joy for today. A chef where we had lunch yesterday has three children, too young to understand the religious part of Easter. But he beamed as he talked about the Easter egg hunt he and his wife planned for them. The thought of watching his little ones looking and laughing during the hunt made him smile and us as well.

112 No Easter Vigil for the nec family. Our pastor splits his time between 2 churches, ours hosted last year and the other one this year. With an 8:45 start, us 29year olds couldn't stay up for it. I love our very traditional church and the area we live.
