After I quit shaking from the cold, I began to get warm & sleepy, and finally died a peaceful death. What about you? Sherry responded, “I died of a massive heart attack. I suspected that my husband was cheating, so I came home early to catch him in the act. But instead, I found him all by himself in the den watching TV. Janet said, “So, what happened?” She continued, “I was so sure there was another woman there somewhere that I started running all over the house looking. I ran up into the attic and searched, and down into the basement. Then I went through every closet and checked under all the beds. I kept this up until I had looked everywhere, and finally I became so exhausted that I just keeled over with a heart attack and died. Janet said, “Too bad you didn't look in the freezer... we'd both still be alive.”
Ollie made me light up like Blackpool illuminations. I was 21, at university, and hadn’t had the best history with guys. I’d been out on dates but never really found that chemistry where I wanted to take it further. Ollie was different. He was on the same course as me reading politics and I had flirted with him for weeks. Spotify to raise prices? IMHO it is still a good deal.
For many years, Spotify held strong at its monthly subscription of $9.99, but that changed last July when Premium jumped up to $10.99. Now it appears that the leading subscription music service is planning another price hike -- and not waiting nearly as long this time. Bloomberg reports that the cost will go up by between $1 and $2 in the UK, Australia, Pakistan, and two other markets by the end of April, with an increase planned for US customers "later this year." But there's one important asterisk here: this all assumes that you're interested in listening to audiobooks on Spotify. Part of the reason for these subscription increases is to cover their cost, after all. Spotify has already grown to become the second-largest player in audiobooks behind Audible -- and it's quickly expanding that effort into new countries.

Perp was wanted for exposing himself to girl at Walmart store APRIL 4--An Iowa man accused of exposing himself to an 11-year-old girl he trailed through a Walmart toy aisle called cops and asked that a store surveillance photo of him be removed from the police department’s Facebook page, according to a criminal complaint. The lewd act, investigators say, occurred four months ago at a Walmart Supercenter in Iowa City. The child told cops that an adult followed her in the store and, when she looked over at the man, his genitals were exposed and he was masturbating. Walmart security video, cops say, showed the man “following the victim out of the toy aisle just before the victim reported the incident to her mother and store employees.”

Oh lordy does that bring back memories ...
I was a camp counselor for an over night summer camp.
We took a group of youngsters up into the Alleghenies to do a two night excursion.
We got them to set up their tents, and when they were all done we gave them some free time until dinner.
All of the counselor went off to set up their gear, only to hear a high pitched wail coming from one of the tents.
We all raced over to where the sound was coming from, and found one poor boy had somehow...gotten his foreskin caught in the zipper on his jeans.
Not one of us had any idea of what the hell to do to free the kids. It took one of the senior counselors to come over and very quickly grab the zipper and PULLLL.
The kid got freed, but there was blood everywhere and the screaming didn't subside until the the kid was put in the pick-up and taken back down the mountain to the main lodge.

Stopmotion: well I found it terrifying. literally just what making stop motion animation entails gives me the heebie jeebies. it's so. incredibly. tedious! how do they not all lost their minds? anyway great film about a stop motion animator losing her mind.
Megalomaniac: was recommended to me, serial killer type flick, French. was ok. the main actress was really good that was the highlight of it. otherwise meh. gross also, pretty violent.
Speak No Evil: omg just watch this! if you have heard of the films Creep and Creep 2 - well I love them. I just shout at the protagonist in a frustrated fashion throughout both Creeps. This is like Creep, just with a family not just one poor victimized person. Anyway it was fantastic! frustrating, PC family just... there was social commentary in this one for sure, I think centered on how very PC/woke people can commit suicide by being way way too woke. they're remaking a USA version of this I'm sure they will change it to make it about "evil rednecks terrorizing wonderful urban family" or something. so see the original instead!

Solaris was made as a Russian answer to 2001; both exploring the same question, what will humanity's first encounter with a truly alien intelligence be like? I actually think Solaris did it better; Arthur C. Clarke made a wonderful sci-fi story, but settled for just meeting Techno-Gods. (boring)
Also, every review I've ever read of Solaris convinced me that the reviewers never watched it all the way through and of course never understood it.

I haven't listened to it in years, but apparently public radio lost its mind in 2020, and became the All George Floyd All The Time Network.
They have apparently largely continued with this, and it turns out that being the "White Guilt" radio network doesn't bring in a lot of listener contributions.
So, there are mass public radio layoffs across the country.
Remember, if you see someone by the side of the road holding a sign saying "Will Denounce White People For Food", please be kind.

The classic example of what public radio has become was the "Red House" episode in Portland right before George Floyd.
The black Kinney family, who were lunatic "Moorish sovereign citizens", decided that they didn't have to pay the mortgage on the Red House anymore, since they were "Moorish sovereign citizens" and all.
When the bank moved to foreclose, there was an eruption of protest - you had armed Antifa guards guarding the house and terrorizing the neighborhood, the Kinneys raised hundreds of thousands of dollars in a GoFundMe to pay off the mortgage (which they never did), and there was a general froo-ha-ha.
Two reporters from the local public radio station accurately reported that the Kinneys actually were living somewhere else, and were just renting out the Red House.
This caused an absolute firestorm at the local public station - how DARE those reporters accurately report something that made the Kinneys look bad! - and the station issued a groveling apology for doing so.
Needless to say, the two reporters soon departed the radio station.

Everything at the grocery store has gotten so expensive, I can't even imagine what has happened to the cost of wedding expenses. But aren't you glad you were responsible enough to have a savings account. I had to have a tooth implant recently. Boy, am I glad I have savings.

Is it all true? Dunno. The stories are a mix of hilarious and sad. I am half-way through the book and find it fascinating.

In order to do 10 minutes on Carson or Leno (5 standup & 5 on the couch), Rodney Dangerfield had to:
1) Write 100 new gags (can't use old ones on the Tonight Show; have to be new);
2) Try all 100 out before a live audience at a club;
3) Pick the 40 or so that worked best (he needed 40 for each 10 minute segment);
4) Experiment with how to string them together, i.e., start with the doctor gags and finish with the sexual rejection gags? Or vice versa?
That's a lot of work!
If a fan sent him a gag and he liked it, he'd send the fan a check for fifty bucks. Here's one he bought for $50:

But try telling it to 'management' LMFAO.
They told us, 30 years ago, that visual inspection would remove 90-something % (want to say 96) of defects. So, theoretically, a second inspection would remove 96% of the remaining defects... and there we stopped. Not bad, but not *perfect*

Chris Carter, the creator of The X Files, always said that Kolchak was the biggest influence on what he brought to the screen. He cited other lesser influences, including Twin Peaks, The Twilight Zone, and Night Gallery, to name a few, but Kolchak was the vibe he wanted to bring to the show.
I loved Kolchak as well, and the mixture of horror and comedy was fantastic. I still remember the bit where he's confronting a vampire with a crucifix, and the vamp sneers and says, "I'm Jewish." It's so depressing to think that a heroic reporter who was only dedicated to the truth wouldn't be credible today.
Gotta credit old Karl with not just being an observer - he usually took on the task of defeating and destroying the Monster of the Week.
