Disclaimer: Where is Haruhi Suzumiya when her world needs her?

I don't have Good Friday off as a regular thing any more. Instead my employer allows us a "floating holiday" that we can take once or twice a year. I've got to let my boss know I'll be doing so for Fri.

7 On the ONT we were discussing nap length. Skip said he usually does about 15-20 minutes. That wouldn't be enough time for me on a weekend afternoon. Sometimes I get into interesting dreams. Yesterday, for example, I upset pr0n star Jayden Jaymes at a public event by reminding her, unknowingly, of the death of her father, and she ran away weeping. I'd hate to miss out on dreams like that!

8 I'm not a good napper... Once I'm asleep, it's very hard to wake up (except in the middle of the night, when I *should* be asleep. Like, right now)

But also, it's hard to *go* to sleep.

23 Oh, don't get too excited about that Spanish "protest" song. Before we make him the new hero of MAGA:

Trying to be friendly, the unwitting Harris nodded and clapped along — but then an aide appeared to inform her about what the lyrics meant, and suddenly she stopped.

“We want to know, Kamala, what did you come here for? We want to know,” the man sang, according to multiple translations. “The vice president is here making history. We want to know what she thinks of the colony.

“Long live Free Palestine and Haiti, too.”

25 I am immensely interested in how these Snapdragon X Elite CPUs will perform in the upcoming Surface Pro refresh as those boxes are my preferred PC because of their overall general versatility. My SP 8 has been an excellent box now for several years with my only issue being the battery life which could be much better. That issue is exacerbated in my Surface Go 2 which goes with me everywhere generally without lugging around the charger. The SD X Elite should fix that.

If the x86 emulation is robust, reasonably on par with the non emulated performance, and doesn't crater the battery life I may have, for me, an ideal CPU.

I have my fingers crossed that the nexus point of Windows on ARM has finally arrived. Of course none of this applies, for now, to my desktop PC which will remain x86 for the foreseeable future.

35 The four terrorists captured by the Russians have gained valuable lessons in how the Russians interrogate people. One guy had his ear cut off and stuffed into his mouth, another guy had his eye knocked out of his head, while another had what looked like a plastic bag around his neck, I can only imagine they suffocated him at some point, and all of them had broken noses from what I could tell. We won't even count the bruises. I think more to the point is the Russians are making sure everybody sees what happens to terrorists.

I'm guessing what happens is the LLM chatbot is asked a math problem is it searches its database and comes up with what is most likely the correct solution.

58 TFG, I think Joe is worse than Barky sometimes:

Fresh out of law school and working as a clerk at a high-powered Wilmington, Delaware, law firm, Biden, in his telling, was tapped to defend a construction company sued by a 23-year-old welder who "lost part of his penis and one of his testicles" to a fire that broke out when he was working inside a chimney at a Delaware City plant. Thanks to Biden’s shrewd legal defense on the construction company’s behalf, the injured man lost the case.
"I wrote this memo. And son of a b—, it prevailed," Biden told Hur on Oct. 8. "And I looked over at that kid…and I thought, ‘son of a b—, I’m in the wrong business, I'm not made for this.’"
Biden said he was so wracked with guilt that he concocted an excuse to avoid a celebratory lunch with one of the firm’s named partners and walked into the public defender’s office to ask for a job that very day. It’s "the only time I ever lied," Biden told Hur on Oct. 8

96 San Franpsycho - just stop requiring a note for 'sick day' time off, and keep a record of absences. Too many absences...and out the door. Find someone healthier. As an employer, you're paying for work and production, not convalescence.

97 It's weird to me how bad the llms are. Can't do arithmetic? Can't even count. You can teach a child to count. I tried to teach ChatGPT. How many letters are in the name William Shakespeare? It might get it but probably not.

I think these things are better than pixy realizes but they hold back the best from the public. Maybe crazy talk but if they had something really useful they would gain some advantage from it.

98 How many sick days do employers typically allow? We have 3 sick days and 2 personal days. More than 3 sick days you're pay is docked.

99 The board said it is working to add more than 10,000 votes to its total count after its director of public information said he mistakenly left out some vote-by-mail ballots.

Chicago Board of Elections Public Information Officer Max Bever released a statement, saying vote-by-mail ballots delivered on Monday, March 18 were left out of the count.

100 Where are all the others who claim to be on our side? They're all part of the scam. We need all of them out on rails.

I am cozying up to the thinking, mentioned in these parts a while ago, that the Government has blackmail on almost everyone in Congress. Why did another GOP house member resign? Majority down to two.

Supposedly the "paid" versions of LLMs are much, much better. The free version of ChatGPT (v. 3.5), for instance does OK with some tasks. I asked it to write an email for me last week and it did quite well.

Version 4 (the paid version) can complete more impressive tasks. Not sure how well it does with arithmetic, though.

Remind them about J6 people still locked up in jail and the names Ashley Babbit and Rosanne Boyland who were murdered that day by law enforcement.

That's the way it was around here. No notes or excuses necessary, take your day, tell them ahead of time that you're taking your day it didn't matter. Day 4 call in, it still doesn't matter except to you - no pay.

20 Us: The most important thing is getting Biden out of the WH. A close second is keeping control of at least the house or senate.

GOPe: Naaaah, dog. Most important thing is keeping the grift flowing.

Amazing how far the fascist ratchet has moved under ObamaBiden.

109 ...that has zero strategic significance on our national security...

I really never want to hear those words "national security" ever come out of the mouths of anyone in academia, media or government at any level.

While all of the above are doing everything in their power to comprehensively destroy every competitive and strategic ability of this country to function or even have an identity: education, economy, culture, industry, community, faith, family, with their rampant advocacy for crime and terrorism while persecuting anyone who dares to defend anything worth defending, the very last thing these monsters can ever be accused of is caring about "national security".

To them, destroying national security is clearly the primary objective. Its gas-lighting to say otherwise.
