I like the intimacy and spontaneity of this. Because both subject and painter are women, it has a different feel than if the painter was male. The woman's back is to the viewer like she is unaware that we are there, OR she does see us in the mirror and is viewing our reflection -- like how you have a conversation with your husband/wife through the bathroom mirror while getting ready for work. Either way, it seems very private and personal. The brushstrokes give it a quick, candid impression of this private female ritual.

He got naked to paint me. I was too confused and timid to correct him, and the painting turned out okay so I just let it go. I don't really remember who he was. He was mostly into birds, I think. I found out today that there is a new generation of IMAX called IMAX laser. This is pure criminality that attacks the very fabric of these United States of America. The irony is that Fani didn’t even have to answer the question because there was an objection. Two guys in Colorado took advantage of certain type of crop insurance, as explained by U.S. Attorney Cole Finegan: ”One way the United States Department of Agriculture supports farmers and ranchers is by providing federal funding for crop insurance programs that pay indemnities when there is less than the usual amount of precipitation.”
... you can see where this is going already Paying indemnities means the US government pays farmers if it doesn’t rain enough – rainfall below average – based on the local rain gauges at Automated Surface Observing System stations regardless of actual crop yields. For these ranchers, if there is less rain, there will be less forage for their cattle, which means less growth, which means less weight when sold, which means less profit. At least that’s the idea. It is as hard to make it rain less as it is to make it rain more. But it was apparently easy to make it look like it rained less. Just jigger the rain gauges at the local ASOS. Folks need to understand what we had if we are to restore it. Kind of like how our government used to operate versus the kleptocratic and corrupt aristocracy we have now.
Right now, we are a semi powered authoritarian state but that power waxes and wanes depending on people's geographic location and what they do for a living. In some places, the rule of law remnants are still the predominate way that things operate--in other places, they don't (primarily urban areas). Somehow this recent Candace Owens story, "Candace Owens Apologizes to Muslims for Post-9/11 ‘Islamophobia.’", brings me back to the Iraqi story of government soldiers when confronted with the simplest apparent opposition, they began to shoot in all directions (i.e. "The Death Blossom") where the assumption is that Allah will protect the innocent.
If you are culturally sensitive, you merely overlook this, but is Allah taking the blame for the death of "apparent innocents" ? It is stupid to merely take the blame out of "good form" and pay compensation. It seems to resemble the old meme of Americans in Europe being told to never stop at an accident that you are not directly involved in, as the "French and Italian drivers will collude to blame the uninvolved 'rich' American". So did we. The mail service where I live (Brunswick County, NC) is the worst I've ever experienced, and I've lived all over the country (in fairness to the locals, exceptionally poor service might now be a national phenomenon, for all I know). Casting her as the wife in the '97 TV-movie remake of The Shining was a brilliant move. You sympathized with her in a way you didn't (well, *I* didn't) with Shelley Duvall in 1980.
Posted by: Wolfus Aurelius * I never heard of that. Who played the Nicholson role? Posted by: John Kerry at March 07, 2024 *** Steven Weber, the younger (?) brother in the Wings sitcom. I thought he did quite well and made Jack, the central character who is corrupted by the evil in the hotel, much more likable and tragic. The TV-movie, two two-hour parts, was filmed at the actual hotel where Stephen King and his wife stayed and which inspired him, the Stanley in Estes Park, CO. I've visited there; gorgeous place. A local TV station had a promotion. If you won, you got to spend the night in the hotel, and *watch the second part* of the TV-movie, right where they filmed it! Voters in Huntington Beach approved a measure this week that limits what flags can fly on city property. Measure B passed with more than 58% of the vote following Tuesday’s polling, according to the Orange County Registrar of Voters election results. Part of the measure states that only the United States flag, the State of California flag, the County of Orange flag, the City of Huntington Beach flag, the POW-MIA flag, the six Armed Forces flags and the Olympic flag during the Summer Olympic Games be displayed on City property.

One of Joe's/DNC's many platforms for several running years has been taxing the rich & prescription drugs including insulin.
Did he/they the Trump tax cuts in effect? I think so, but now they'll likely return to bedeviling non-union manufacturing, suppliers, warehousing, sales operations, etc. involving goods and services - everything possible but for unionized transportation-related operations, along with some others the government deems through Appropriations as untouchable, which run up the costs for shipping of everything. The government backs certain sectors time & time again. Votes. They've been sitting back, sitting home, working with/through federal contractors & think tanks. Now they'll swarm for presidential election year. After all, that's several executive agencies' foundational operations, including, but not limited to, the US Department of Labor. They'll also increase every credit, grant imaginable -childcare, daycare, child credits, home healthcare, etc. - under the guise of being family friendly because they prop up those small businesses to keep them from yelling as funds are going into communities to support the unhoused, new Americans.
