Getting some pre sale work done on the house. Yesterday as the painter and his nephew were leaving, the nephew came back to the door with a small drone and the battery for it that he had found at the end of our drive. It must have just crashed as my wife had returned home about 30 minutes before.

This is a maybe and it is a lot of money and may be on her. 3) Suicide attempt in here somewhere. 4) She leaves/files an HR complaint. 5) The company then shares info from her lawyer for the HR complaint with the people involved in the complaint. 6) Said people do a live stream where they pretty much say that it is all her fault/she is lying. Some coordination/serendipity(?) here and like all the remaining people at the company in unison and at the same time retweet the statement. People are addicted to drama. The difference in personality between the two Killer Kittens could not be more obvious. Both are hungry right now, of course. But Stirling the big black jumps up near me, bumps me with his head, lets me know what he wants . . . while little Dagny the aloof Siberian sits on the table and waits. She is just not a demonstrative cat, I guess. She's pleasant and good-natured, loves her belly rubs and when I play with her. But she's not a lap cat and rarely sits close by.

Second, the 'vtuber companies' remind me of nothing so much as the old Hollywood studio system or the music industry or just pimps. They 'own' the IP of the streamer and so control it heavily and treat them like... brands. So they have a high degree over the streamer for what they are allowed to say and do. That is disturbing even for the 'good' ones who seem to maintain a light leash.

Posted by: San Franpsycho at February 18, 2024 *** Exactly. When I move from here at last, I won't do a moving sale; I don't want the denizens here knowing what I have. There are many paperback books and items of clothing I don't want to take and can donate, but there will still be plenty to pack. It's only two rooms -- but I've been living here for two decades. (I shudder even to write that.) Posted by: Wolfus Aurelius, Dreaming of Elsewhere at February 18, 2024 06:02 AM (omVj0) 109

Hiya, JT!
No birdbath. And if I had one, it would certainly not be frozen. That only happens rarely here on the beach. Had a good three days of below freezing temps last month. Won't happen again until next Dec/Jan I reckon. Posted by: nurse ratched at February 18, 2024 06:03 AM (2h2Wy) 111

When we moved, we took so much stuff to Goodwill and another place. I spent some coin with a junk removal place too.
Posted by: CrotchetyOldJarhead at February 18, 2024 *** I might have to do that too. Though I think most of what I have to get rid of is more in the Goodwill or other thrift store donation category. Posted by: Wolfus Aurelius, Dreaming of Elsewhere at February 18, 2024 06:04 AM (omVj0) 114

Posted by: Pixy Misa at February 18, 2024 05:56 AM (BLOW1) That's where the studio system part comes in. They seem very conscious of a couple thing: one, maintaining their control over their existing 'talents', fostering a very 'them' vs 'us' thing and two, reminding them and anyone else what happens to anyone who goes off the reservation. Someone made the observation that they seem to want to make this as painful as possible for Selen/Doki. That fits. Its insane, but it fits.
