The funny thing is, apparently AVX-512 is supposed to be really good at AI calculations, so if they hadn't yanked it to make E-Cores a thing, they'd be way better able to compete in the CPU AI workloads they tried to market as their big edge over AMD's chips.
But they had to burn it out with a laser after the first wave of Alder Lake, so it's gone now. I swear, watching Intel step on rakes is like something out of the cartoons right now. They need to get their freaking act together. Posted by: Voyager at February 12, 2024 04:41 AM (S3d13) 12

Morning all!
"Though hydrogen car manufacturers usually include a large amount of free fuel in the purchase of a vehicle, once that runs out consumers are left with eye-watering prices from stations that are often broken, out of fuel, or swarmed with long lines." Huh, there's a shocker. Posted by: Bruce at February 12, 2024 04:55 AM (vd8XM) 15
Few companies can make a better case for it than Shell, though, as the cheapest way to produce hydrogen involves a lot of natural gas.
Better than burning it in a gas stove though, right? Posted by: Bruce at February 12, 2024 04:56 AM (vd8XM) 16
