The Quotes of The Day

Quote I

“These funds were to be used for the welfare of myself and our seven children. It is tremendously shameful, yet not surprising, that these heinous smear tactics are being employed to victimize myself and my children once again. For the record, these funds were issued in my name and I placed these funds with the help of tax lawyers into a trust fund for my children.” Mrs. Mark Houck

Quote II

"So this is a petition for all the airlines, so big girls like me can fly. It's not my fault I have an ass this big – please just make them bigger." Model Gracie Bon

Quote III

"Yes, for me to want to change, there had to be reasons beyond the money, right? So when I said that [in June 2022] I fully meant it and it was true. Now, when they slap you with a large amount of money in your face, your feelings do change. I try not to be a materialistic person, but I do owe it to my family as well to set them up for success the best I can, and having kids I think changed that quite a bit. So the money is a part of it; I’m not going to lie. But again, when I said that I wasn’t fully aware of what I was saying because you don’t really understand." Professional Golfer Jon Rahm

AND HE'S OFF Smiling Prince Harry jets back to LA after 30 minute reunion with Charles – but didn’t meet William on 26hr trip
Harry only arrived in London from California on Tuesday afternoon

PRINCE Harry has jetted back to LA after a whistle-stop trip to see his father.

The Duke of Sussex was pictured arriving at London Heathrow at 1.30pm today - just 26 hours after landing at 12.30pm on Tuesday.

You on the other hand will not be allowed to fly to see your loved ones.

We told Budweiser to FOAD when they went woke with Bud Light. Now we should boycott Oreo cookies and tell them to FOAD.

America's Favorite Cookie Takes a Hard Left Turn

Nothing is immune to woke ideology, not even cookies.

Oreo's latest partnership signifies a disturbing trend in U.S. corporations advancing the LGBTQ+ agenda, as far-left ideologues impose it on children through programs like Drag Queen Story Hour and by placing pornographic books in public school libraries.

The findings uncovered by the National Legal and Policy Center (NLPC), a conservative watchdog non-profit, reveal that cookie kingpin Oreo is a "proud" partner of PFLAG, formerly the national Parents, Families, & Friends of Lesbians and Gays network.

"Is your favorite cookie company grooming children?" NLPC prefaces a 29-second video exposing the Oreo-PLFAG partnership. "What happened to the kid-friendly cookie we all used to know and love? Don't let PFLAG and Oreo corrupt your children."

Just the cure for this BS, H/T TC via CBD.........

Lasers, meth and aircraft don’t mix in arrest of Columbus man

COLUMBUS, Ind. (WISH) — A Columbus man was arrested Saturday night after a Bartholomew County sheriff’s deputy observed him aiming a laser at his patrol vehicle.

Several reports were received by the sheriff’s office over the last week regarding someone aiming a laser at aircraft in the area of the Columbus Municipal Airport.

On Saturday night, another report came in, which prompted a sheriff’s deputy to be dispatched to the area of the airport, but the deputy was unable to find the source of the laser.

Twenty minutes later while travelling on U.S. 31 near I-65, the deputy observed a green laser emitting from a black passenger car. At that time, the laser was pointed at the deputy’s patrol car.

After a traffic stop, the driver was identified as 49-year-old Christopher Clem of Columbus. During the investigation, two laser devices were found, along with methamphetamine and crushed prescription painkillers.

Sea otters what can't they do? Tonight's Feel Good Story of The Day.

Against all odds, a distressed California coastal ecosystem is on the mend, in large part, thanks to the insatiable appetite sea otters have for crabs.

In a groundbreaking study published this week in Nature, scientists revealed that the return of sea otters to their former habitat in a Central California estuary has slowed erosion of the area’s marsh banks by up to 90%.

The resurgence of these charismatic marine mammals to the salt marshes of Elkhorn Slough in Monterey County sparks hope for improving coastal ecosystems and marks a significant ecological success story.

Southwest gave me a voucher when I complained (later), but I don't want to fly that damn airline

84 Don't anyone make fun of Ms. Bon - that poor girl has a raging case of either Lipedema or Lymphedema, but her doctors aren't smart enough to recognize it.

The ONLY "fix" for that is liposuction and skin excision. And even then, that won't cure her - they don't know what causes it, but it is hereditary and it IS NOT something that diet and exercise will help make smaller.

I only found out that I had it a year ago, after a lifetime of berating myself (and knowing that people were commenting on my size when they didn't think I was listening) about my lack of willpower. It was so nice to find out it wasn't my fault.

So, please - BE NICE.

131 Jon Rahm is an incredible pro golfer. There are 5 to 10 guys that are so good right now it is very difficult to say who is the best. If I had to make a bet on one player, winning an individual tournament or finishing in the top 10 in a tournament, it would for sure be Jon Rahm.

I was around golf a long time back in the 80s and 90s and I still can’t make heads or tails about this PGA tour verse LIV thing. So many players said they were going to stay with the PGA tour, and then, when money was thrown at them, they change their minds. It wasn’t long ago when the PGA tour was the top of the class, someone screwed the pooch big time it would be like the NFL being superseded by some American football league in India. In fact, the PGA tour was much more established and had everyone on their side, politicians, businesses, etc. it is shocking that this is happened really.

Everyone has to make their own decisions, but for Jon Rahm, and a host of other PGA tour de defectors to say they did this to take care of their family that is just rich. These guys can make 1 million in a weekend and often do. This wasn’t about their family.

1. The Russians have cracked open the fortress city of Adveedka, the only question now is how many prisoners they will capture.
2. Zelensky has fired his top general, hoping to pin the PR disaster of Adveedka's fall on him.
3. Mud Season, which will end any cross-country maneuvering, is about 3 weeks away.

Agreed. There has to be more. WTH is going on at the PGA Tour HQ? I don't have any strong feelings towards LIV or PGA Tour. I'm just confused how it got this bad this fast. It's weird. Pro sports splitting off tends to go bad for both sides. In racing it was IRL/CART, Grand Am/ALMS. OW racing is still struggling and sports car racing is slowly coming back from there split. It does damage that lasts.

I guess that’s an aside but this is a well established thing that was just part of the American landscape. This upstart, LIV is funded by Saudi money, and people were supposed to be put off simply because of that. But what I don’t understand is why they left the PGA tour which was basically every golfers dream and the gold standard for companies to advertise with. Many non-fans who love football and baseball etc. always wondered why golf was always on TV. The reason was the number of viewers they had were the highest paying consumers even though they didn’t get the numbers of the NFL the numbers they got the advertisers to charge a ton.

All that aside I don’t understand it either. I watched an LIV event recently and it was awful. There is no formality they all tee off at the same time like a local club scramble, and they blast music. I don’t think there is an actual market for what they’re selling. I don’t think anyone likes it. The Saudi have so much money now they’re just pouring it out and stealing people from the PGA tour. No one actually gives a

That triggered lymphedema. They kept it under control mostly until a few years ago.

In 2021, she ended up in Augusta Burn Center due to 3rd degree burns in her leg tissue due the build up of uric acid, from her damned bodily fluids building up. I'd never heard of that before.

239 210 Damn about the LIV, it is a naked cash grab by players who were already getting paid handsomely. when this thing collapses because again, nobody wants to watch an LIV event versus say the majors, these people will have to explain why they bolted, and I’ve yet to see a legitimate excuse.

If you are not pampered enough on the PGA tour, then you are legit a hot house orchid.

Yea, I've watched a few LIV events. It is what it is. I'm mostly meh about it. It's nice hearing David Feherty again though. Su-Ann Heng and Troy Mullins are nice to look at. The only golfer that was absolutely honest about his movie was Harold Varner. He was up front about that it was all about the money.

255 240, I like Varner and Feherty as well for sure. Both have made millions on the PGA tour, and verity commenting, look, everyone makes their own decision. I’m not going to say they are wrong if they think it is more financially helpful to their family. But I don’t think there’s an actual demand for LV golf. And is not like the PGA tour did not pay handsomely. I think a lot of people flew too close to the sun. Someone bought them and they didn’t really care what the price was and what damage that price would do. I could be wrong, but I can’t think of a golfer on the PGA tour who is poor, who was made rich by the LI V, because the PGA tour did not pay him properly. I still can’t name a single tournament on the LIV.

Is shame to me that the Spaniards in particular have left for LIV. I think Spain should always be regarded as the one country that punched way beyond its weight when it comes to golf. it is not even a golfing country. It has no golfing heritage yet Spain over the last three or four decades could feel the team of five guys that could beat any other country at any time easily. Not saying they would win every time, but they would be as likely to win as the opponen.

Pioneered much of the early, multi-track recording techniques. Brought in strings and other orchestral parts. Contributed in no small way, to The Beatles being one of the all-around best Studio Bands of all time.

No mistake there. We can't become complacent about their intent. No one can predict what's coming but, I firmly believe bloodshed will be one of the prices we pay to hold onto our Liberty. Take heart, the left fears us as much as they hate us. They also underestimate our resolve. Hopefully, that is their fatal error.

It depends on whether it is Lipedema or Lymphedema - they are similar, but have very distinct patterns to look for. Untreated, Lipedema can develop into Lymphedema. Most doctors know about Lymphedema, but it is just in the last few years that doctors have become aware of the prevalence of Lipedema. It is now being addressed in Medical Schools.

You can look them up to see the differences - up until now, there weren't many options for treatment. Bariatric surgery almost always fails for both diseases, because it doesn't treat the underlying disease.

When I think about Oreos and Nabisco, I think of RJR Nabisco in the 1980s and the bee movie but actually a relevant bee movie barbarians at the gate.

For GR the cigarettes were addictive, and the other addictive substance was Oreos. But since that time RGR was broken up, and Nabisco went to Philip Morris and then Kraft, and at this point, I don’t even know anymore. If you want to study corporate buyouts and spinoff’s galore go with tobacco in 80s 90s and early 2000s. I think the Oreos have changed so many hands they don’t even know who owns them.

Most companies go with the work because they think it’s the easiest one to deal with. We proved them wrong with target and Bud Light. I still say we should not let off on Bud Light regardless of conservative influencers to say we should call off the dogs. I get the argument for doing that that would doubly prove the power of our choice, on the other hand, it is probably better to prove that no one could tell us what to do in our world. Bud Light is done. No one’s going to tell us to reverse course.

383 For what it's worth, I went to the second stop on the Fleetwood Mac reunion tour, before they fired Lindsey Buckingham again for being coked out. So it was the classic "Rumours" lineup. A few observations:

1. They didn't want to stop. They had to at some point, but they were completely done with their set and encores and they were taking requests yelled at them by the audience, telling anecdotes, just really enjoying being on stage with each other.

2. I had never noticed this before on the radio and albums, but everyone is not in every song (especially when they did the Stevie Nicks songs). This gives them all a chance to rotate out for a breather. Except Lindsey Buckingham. He is in every song. He played for a solid 3 hours without a break and would have kept going (see the comment about being fired by the others for being coked out).

3. About every 20 minutes someone felt the need to kiss Christine McVie's butt for rejoining them. I guess I should say stroke her ego. She had not performed in a while, and I guess getting her out of semi-retirement to go on tour must have been a challenge.

Got the eight panels cut to form the shells of the cabinets, and got cleats glued and screwed to the 4 side panels so that the top and bottom panels can be inset and and fastened. Each cabinet will be 27X31 inches with two doors.

407 Though the venerable P-51D is the "definitive" version of the bird, I'd think that flying the "A" model, at altitudes below 20,000 ft., would be every bit as much as a blast as the Thoroughbred.

Y'know, in the African Campaign, even the P-40 Kittyhawk, was considered an eminently cromulent plane for that Theatre, given it's low altitude aerial combat and ground attack roles. And, it's numbers and kill ratios, proved that it could do the job.

The Merlin was THE engine of the WWII vee-engine arena. But the Allison, at lower altitudes, gave yeoman service in any aircraft for which it was suited.

Bear in mind. It was the superb handling qualities of the "A" model Mustang, that gave heart to even try the Merlin transplant into the plane.

Oh, and I've seen the videos of Cruise flying his twin-seater. Competent and safe pilot? Appears to be so.

Up to WWII Mustang fighter pilot standards? Not. Even. Close.

423 Jim in ILL.

My reading tells me the Pilots loved the P-47 quite a lot.

Most stable gun platform, most survivable under attack.

And flown to IT'S strengths, one hell of a contender against any Reich plane sent up against it.

That's the difference between the Thunderbolt and the Mustang. The Jug, had to be flown in it's best dynamic range, to be effective.

The 'Stang had to be flown better than it's opponent's dynamic range, in order to score the kill.

Still. The '47 Uber Alles for the combo of deadly fighter, long range and ground attack killer and survivor.

If I wanted to survive WWII as a fighter pilot, it would be Jug, all the way.

426 Jim,
Totally agree.
I read a story about an ace P-47 pilot - I think it was Robert S. Johnson - who was flying back in his damaged P-47when an enemy plane found him. Johnson was pretty much helpless. The pilot made several runs at the Jug but it just kept flying and the enemy pilot ran out of ammunition. Johnson made it home. I'll see if I can find the story.

One advantage of the Jug, of course, was its air-cooled engine, so it didn't have a radiator to get shot up.

434 Jim in IL.

I don't need to read the link, but thanks.

The P-47 pilot and the German pilot, met and became friends, after the war.

The P-47 was out of ammo when the German pilot (Bf-109?) fell upon him. And proceeded to expend every round of ammo on board, into the P-47.

Which, even with two of eighteen cylinders shot away, continued to fly towards the English coast.

From this, the German pilot realized great respect for the American, and kept other German planes intent on attacking, at bay.

After the war, the two pilots became friends, till the end of their days.

IIRC ?
