The Morning Rant: Minimalist Edition

monkeyvote.jpg

Late last year the Heartland Institute commissioned a poll examining the reality of the mail-in voting fiasco. They released the results in December, and even this jaded blogger was shocked.

A new poll by The Heartland Institute and Rasmussen Reports found one-in-five voters who cast mail-in ballots during the 2020 presidential election admit to participating in at least one kind of voter fraud.

We had Jim Lakely from the Heartland Institute on CJN Speaks to discuss the poll and what it actually meant for the results of the 2020 presidential election.
Taken together, the results of these survey questions appear to show that voter fraud was widespread in the 2020 election, especially among those who cast mail-in ballots.

Well, today it gets worse. Heartland Institute has done a follow-up analysis of that poll, and Lakely shared the results with CJN last week.

This policy study takes the results of the Heartland/Rasmussen survey and applies them directly to the six swing states that Biden won by razor-thin margins in 2020: Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. Because Biden voters cast mail-in ballots at a much higher rate than Trump voters, any level of fraud almost certainly benefited Biden to a significantly greater degree than Trump.

It was released to the public a couple of hours ago, and it is worth a read.
Who Really Won The 2020 Election is a careful statistical analysis of the vote, making rational assumptions about the fraud. Their December report detailed the astounding rate of voter fraud, with 28.2% of respondents admitting to at least one of the four types of fraud asked about in the survey. From that high number they interpolate down to 1% fraud...

In addition to the 28.2% fraud scenario, the study analyzes the electoral results for every fraud integer from 27% down to 1%. In every instance except the 3%, 2%, and 1% fraud scenarios, our results indicate that Trump would have won the Electoral College in the 2020 U.S. presidential election had fraudulent mail-in ballots not been counted. Hence, even if the level of fraud detected in the Heartland/Rasmussen survey (28.2% of all mail-in ballots) substantially overstated voter fraud by multiple orders of magnitude, Trump would likely still have won the 2020 election.

But let's get back to those assumptions! Democrat voters used mail-in balloting at a much higher rate than Republican voters in the 2020 election, so the fraud for Biden was at a much higher rate. There is no other way to interpret those data!

Read the whole thing. In addition to its logical explanation of exactly how the steal that we all assumed actually happened, it is a glimpse into the shift away from direct and personal participation in the electoral process. The physical act of voting at one's local voting place was an integral part of American culture, and it was almost celebratory. The data suggest that it is still the case among many Republican voters, but the shift is stark among Democrats. Voting has become a communitarian project that effectively removes the individual from the process, and injects a disturbing sense of loss of control...which of course is exactly the goal.

Political machines are nothing new in America...Tammany Hall ran Manhattan for almost 100 years. The Pendergast machine helped make Harry Truman. The Daleys ran Chicago for years. Even the federal government wasn't immune...the WPA and the CCC during the depression was famous for its patronage dispensed by James Farley, FDR's political chief.

But there was at least some value provided in return for those votes. Today's Democrat vote-stealing machine provides nothing in return to the vast majority of those whose votes are owned by the various organizations that harvest them, steal them, manipulate them...

The policies of the current Democrat party are catastrophic for America, but the traditional Democrat voter fares the worst. The inner cities are inundated with illegals who steal jobs, are responsible for rampant lawlessness, and destroy affordable housing. Yet bringing more in is official Democrat policy. Education has become a grim joke, but the people who need it the most are the ones whose schools are being destroyed by those illegal aliens and an evil alliance between the teachers unions, the academy, and recently the transgender industry...all supported by Democrat government. Inflation? Deficit spending? The regulatory war on small business? Minimum wage? The foreign policy catastrophes that will get our soldiers killed? That all hurts Democrat voters!

The Democrat machine will be the death of America. If there is a violent schism, death and destruction will be cataclysmic. If the status quo continues, our civil liberties will erode to nothing, and our standard of living will collapse under a mountain of unsustainable debt, and a welfare state that can no longer maintain the millions of illegals pouring across our undefended borders.

And that's assuming that our foreign enemies are content to wait for internal forces to destroy us. But there is no guarantee that China or Iran or some other bad actor will see our weakness as a signal to attack.

Voting is fundamental to freedom. Without free and fair elections we are indistinguishable from the dozens of authoritarian countries and tin-pot dictatorships whose elections are rubber stamps for the current juntas.

The Heartland Institute has exposed this mortal danger in a careful, rational, scientific way that supports the obvious. It is incumbent upon us all to take that information and push hard in every direction, so that it never happens again.

Whoever slipped "degrade the adversary's capabilities" into the military lexicon laid the groundwork for the ruin of the organization. I am sure some MBA. Words do mean things.

I first heard it used by General Wesley Clark talking about operations in Serbia. Thought it was absurd made up bullshit then. You can slit the tires on their vehicles and "degrade capabilities."

Spoiler alert: We are indistinguishable from the dozens of authoritarian countries and tin-pot dictatorships whose elections are rubber stamps for the current juntas.

I admire the optimism of anyone trying to turn this around, but I don't share it. I think we're already gone. We have been at least since Obama's first term. We just didn't know it then.

How was the American government's response to covid any worse than what a true fascist, Stalinist dictatorship would have done?

To be sure, we haven't yet reached African warlord murdering-people-in-the-streets levels yet. But that's coming. Wait to see what antifa and BLM do in the streets this time if by some miracle Trump wins in November.

In a way it's already here: it's the explosion of crime and violence by Democrap-approved street thugs and scumbags.

One quibble, but it's important: illegals don't steal jobs, they take jobs that others refuse to do, or at least do well. From my experience here in NoVa, a bad area that sees an influx of illegal Hispanics can turn around and be full of thriving businesses in short order. Also, there's a reason that people hire them for construction: they work hard. Granted, they now control the construction trades, but that's because they do a better job for less money, at least that's my experience.

Of course it isn't all peaches and cream, but "traditional Democrat voters" have spent the last 70 year bitching and trying to get something for nothing. Perhaps they should try being more valuable to employers.

They put downward pressure on wages. So, instead of paying a drywaller $15/hour, they pay an illegal $7/hour under the table and save money on WC and taxes.

That's stealing a job. I don't doubt they work hard and/or well. But that isn't the point. Don't defend employers who use illegal labor - they should be jailed and fined out of existence.

Even the federal government wasn't immune...the WPA and the CCC during the depression was famous for its patronage dispensed by James Farley, FDR's political chief.

Patronage machines were durable because even though they internalized a constant level of corruption, they still recognized (for their own survivals sake) that growth, and jobs, and public safety were all values that had to be pursued diligently. When those goals were important, an amount of corruption on the margins could be tolerated.

But when the Left became purely ideological, and began to despise growth, and jobs, and especially to destroy public safety, the amount of corruption on top of it is guaranteed to be fatal to the system.

A true fascist, Stalinist dictatorship would have had a single, top-down policy. Kind of like Biden's attempt to force everyone to get the jab.

Instead, we got a mishmash of policies depending on the state, or in some cases local, elected officials. This allowed the electorate, to the extent this matters, to see what their political "leadership" would do in a crisis.

That is the only explanation that fits the facts. When you find prostate cancer you look for signs that it has metastasized. You don't find benign prostate growth and then go "Hey, lets look for a totally unrelated something, which could be an unspecified cancer."

77 The MSM claim about the election has been, "fraud was not enough to affect the outcome of the election." Seldom has there been a claim that there was no fraud, or that fraud was uncommon or not widespread; only "insufficient to affect the outcome of the election." This has always seemed to be a claim (1) made without evidence; and (2) a shield against any fraud that might come to light. Good to see it falling apart.

80 I do wonder what kind of fraud we’re talking about. Like if I take my wife’s ballot and mail it for her, is that “fraud”? Technically speaking I think it might be. But it’s not going to affect the election.

So how much of that 20% was benign fraud vs actual cheating fraud?

1. That's great - if you happen to have a skilled labor job and need unskilled labor done. Not so great for people who lack skills.

Perhaps they should try being more valuable to employers.

2. At least in the past, a good number of people would have been willing to work for less but the government made it illegal.

84 Patronage machines were durable because even though they internalized a constant level of corruption, they still recognized (for their own survivals sake) that growth, and jobs, and public safety were all values that had to be pursued diligently. When those goals were important, an amount of corruption on the margins could be tolerated.

But when the Left became purely ideological, and began to despise growth, and jobs, and especially to destroy public safety, the amount of corruption on top of it is guaranteed to be fatal to the system.

It's one thing if construction is paying them legally (i.e., minimum wage at least, paying WC and payroll taxes, etc.). That isn't the problem. It's all the workers being hired and paid illegally - under the table and for less than minimum wage and with no workers comp, etc. That puts downward pressure on wages, which hurts legal Hispanic workers as much as any other worker. And there has to be tons of illegals employed - else why come here?

118 Like if I take my wife’s ballot and mail it for her, is that “fraud”? Technically speaking I think it might be.

Isn't even technically fraud. And in ballot harvesting states, going to your neighbors, or the local nursing home, or to some random homeless person and doing the same is perfectly legal.

Now, getting a blank ballot, filling it out, and dropping it off in their name, that's fraud.

But how would you prove that one of the ballots in the dropbox was the result of that process rather than the fully legal one? You can't.

And that is why they do it that way. No court in this country will invalidate votes that might be valid.

Posted by: blaster at February 06, 2024 11:25 AM (xhfG9)

119 Something really easy conservatives could do is just have 24/7 monitoring of ballot drop off locations in the precincts where this usually happens.

You should check out California's system. It is now completely legal, and common, under California law, for political operatives to pick up hundreds of blank mail in ballots in hispanic or black neighborhoods, fill them all out themselves, and drop them all off in a batch.

and they've pretty much done away with the need to ask the person who's ballot is being picked up if they want that done or not. If they object, no welfare for you!!!

Which is why I say that there is absolutely no hope for California elections ever again, and I really no longer want to be part of the same country that they are in.

Mostly true, but not entirely. There are gringos who want to work in the trades and construction. But especially construction, if you don't speak Spanish you are essentially going nowhere. Plus, you'll be competing for wages against an army of (mostly illegal) immigrants who are willing to accept less because they aren't paying taxes, for healthcare, or most anything else.

It's not and never has been a level playing field. That's by design.

Regarding that, I agree.

I think the assumption, though is this is happening on a mass scale. If say, thousands of people said “no, I did not vote even though you have my ballot” I think it would be very apparent. I just don’t know how you get away with it in a mass scale unless everybody keeps quiet. Some sort of sampling needs to be implemented. Maybe offer a reward if you come forward with a valid vote fraud case?

A member of household though just filling out a ballot for someone that probably wouldn’t vote? That happens all the time.

And then what? How would they take the frauded ballots out of the box while leaving unfrauded ones in?

No court in the country at any level will toss good votes because bad votes are mixed in. A court might toss ALL of them out and order a new election. Or they might just overturn results, if the beneficiary of the fraud is Republican.

But so long as you can drop ballots off any old way you can't stop the cheat. That is why in jurisdictions where there are drop boxes, Republicans need to have them, too.

Who is reporting on it, our media? If I didn't show up to vote and somebody used my ballot to vote for me how would I know?

There were millions and millions of mass mail in ballots mailed out in 2020. It was an invitation to cheat.

2000 Mules has clear evidence that the same people were IDed dropping off multiple ballots at different drop boxes over and over. Did anyone in the media ever report on it? That heavily scrutinized effort to overhaul Wisconsin elections is being led by Democratic superlawyer Marc Elias, whose influential Elias Law Group raked in more than $680,000 combined for “legal services” in 2023 from left-wing groups that, in turn, rallied to support Protasiewicz, according to Federal Election Commission filings.

229 219 A left-wing Wisconsin Supreme Court justice was endorsed on the campaign trail last year by activists that, around the same time, paid major sums to a Democratic law firm now pressing the court to order new congressional maps ahead of the 2024 election, records show.

Republican lawmakers demanded the recusal last week of Badger State justice Janet Protasiewicz from taking up a redistricting motion due to her criticism of Wisconsin’s “rigged” maps while running in 2023.

The left discovered a long time ago that party machinery are relics of a past era. It is better, more efficient, and cheaper, to use new organizations outside the party machinery to a) clean up voter rolls where a lot of the fraud begins, b) help register new voters, c) fight legal challenges, d) more resistant to being sidelined by lawfare

Party machinery always favors incumbent protection schemes of the Uniparty where the ideal is low voter participation, gobs of negative ads/fliers/mailers, and robocalls. Incumbents don't like new voters by default because they are unpredictable and might just want to toss incumbents on the trash heap too.

Trump has been very vocal about pushing early voting in all of his recent rallies. He talks about it constantly.

The problem doesn't belong to any one candidate. It belongs to the entire party. Biden didn't organize the cheating in 2020, he had an entire party and outside lawyers like Elias working on it constantly.

Kemp could clean up the Georgia corruption problem in a heartbeat if he wanted to. It's not hard, it just takes someone who wants to do it.

307 End mail-in voting for everyone. Shitcan all voting machines. All voters get a paper ballot, with a random but unique serial number, and each ballot has a carbon copy. Voter marks their ballot with the ball-point pen provided at the voting booth, folds the original and deposits it in the ballot box. Voter retains the carbon copy.. . .

The company I worked had contracts with five different Secretaries of States to streamline and harden the voting processes to ensure honest registration and tabulations. Every Secretary, no matter the political party, rejected most of our findings.

(Mail in processes are, by their very nature, unsecure and lend themselves to fraud. And always have.)

Isn’t it legal for someone to ballot harvest and drop off e ballots? I’m sure it was fraud. But just showing the same people dropping off ballots doesn’t prove it was illegal.
Posted by: Montec at February 06, 2024 11:42 AM (YofvK)

Precisely. This why they do it this way. Sure, it's possible that a person knows hundreds of people who just find it inconvenient to get to a dropbox and so they are doing a kindly deed. And if a bunch of them all happen to be employed by the same non-profit organization, and all happen to come from the same address to the dropbox, day after day, well, you can't PROVE that isn't just a coincidence. And all those ballots went into the same pile and you can't tell them apart from all the others anyway, so doesn't matter if you prove it WAS coincidence.

Again, this is why they created this process. The way to defeat it is to eliminate the dropbox - been done in Wisconsin. And if the dropbox can't be eliminated, then use it to Republican advantage. If the Republican harvesters all work for the same non-profit, picking up a bunch of ballots from the same location and dropping off to the same box, well, coincidence, eh?

Posted by: blaster at February 06, 2024 11:57 AM (xhfG9)

309 Wait, so we KNOW there was at least 20% fraud - at a minimum, before the people in the actual buildings commiting the fraud began cheating - in the mail in ballots, which was the entire basis of the "red wave" comments and strategy where the (D)s admitted they were going to cheat and all you had to do was wait for them to finish counting.

But there was only 1% fraud. Or something.

The Super Bowl Will Again Feature Two 'National Anthems'

This coming Sunday, at the most widely viewed sporting event in America, the Super Bowl, the National Football League will feature the singing of "Lift Every Voice and Sing," the song first known as the "Negro national anthem" and now known as the "black national anthem."

In order to ensure that those present at the game and the more than 100 million people watching on television cannot avoid hearing it, the "black national anthem" will, according to the schedule I have seen, be played after the actual national anthem of the United States. If that is the case, this will presumably be done in order to also ensure that everyone is still standing when it is sung. The NFL probably fears that some of those attending the game -- specifically, those who possess two increasingly rare traits: love of America and courage -- might not rise for the "black national anthem." But if they were already standing for the national anthem, few will sit when the "black national anthem" is then sung. The NFL doesn't want a repeat of what occurred at last year's

Also, there's a reason that people hire them for construction: they work hard. Granted, they now control the construction trades, but that's because they do a better job for less money, at least that's my experience.

-

It is illegal for illegals to work in the U.S. Full stop. If they are working, they are stealing someone's job and eventually will take over the trade. I've watched it play out over the course of my life here in the South. Illegals will do the work but the job won't be much cheaper because the legal bossman knows he'd be a fool to underbid by that much. He pockets the difference. Soon no Americans can compete and would you look at that, drywall, roofing, lawncare, etc. are now almost entirely one demographic.

It's not much different than how walmart drove all the mom and pops out of business.
