The impression I had of the Cain & Abel story was that Cain was pretty unrepentant about killing his brother -- that he would not have been conscience-stricken like this. Not sure if that's the accepted interpretation.

I like that you can see the altar in the back left -- the catalyst for Cain's crime. The sacrifice is still burning. Something that should be about worship and holiness was turned evil. Storm clouds gather. Abel's murder was the consequences of his parents' actions, and it'll only get worse from here.
Maybe the storm clouds also foreshadow the Flood too?

AFAIK, it is not explained why the Lord judged Cain's offering as not "right." We have to accept His judgement in all things, whether we understand them or not.

It's a Classical trope. You can see it in ancient Greek painting. Men worked outside and tanned, so they are depicted as darker-skinned. Women were inside the home, no tan, lighter skin. It became one of the motifs of classicism. Abel may also be light-skinned to show his youth and innocence.

Last year was the 30th anniversary of the Groundhog's Day movie and they showed it some theaters last Feb. 2. My birthday is todays so of course we went and it was a real treat. We still watch at home every year as we will today. One of our favorite movies.

I'd forgotten he was in the Dustin Hoffman flick. Maybe it was me, but good as he was in it, LiT left me kinda cool. Maybe it was the wrong time for me to watch it.
I think it was Roger Ebert who nailed what Murray does better than anybody. He's kind of a stand-in in his movies for us, the individual audience members. We all imagine that we would be as unflappable and would come up with the clever remarks ourselves if we were in the film's situation in real life.

I live in a 15-minute town (so long as I have a car). There's very few places in town--or even outside the city limits--that I cannot reach in 15 minutes or less.

Guy planted a garden. Noticed veggies missing. Put up a camera. Found out a groundhog was stealing stuff. Next season he built a second garden for Chunk. Filmed it a put it on Facebook. 3rd season Chunk got him a wife and babies.

My wife's uncle is known to shoot groundhogs from his kitchen to protect his vegetables. It upsets the neighbors for some reason. So I told him how to make a disposable, one time use, silencer. He was all ears.

You want the K-Hornet if you reload. The .22 Hornet is not one of the better cartridges to reload as it is quite picky--the long neck and tapered shoulders make it so.
Simply reaming the chamber with a K-Hornet reamer gets you better case life and 100-150 more fps. Simply firing .22 Hornet brass in a K-Hornet chamber will fireform the brass for future reloading.
There are at least two different specification sets of the K-Hornet so if you go to reamers 4 rent dot com or a similar place to rent the chamber reamer, make sure you get what you want.
The 22 WMR is another option and a bit cheaper to fire. 22 Hornet ammo is a bit pricey and can be hard to locate at times.
