Two people on a Norwegian Cruise Line ship were found with 112 bags of marijuana, an affidavit says. One said she'd only met the other at the ship's bar, but both had 56 bags, per the court document. Rendon Dietzmann, 32, of Justin, Texas, goes by Gixxer Brah on YouTube and posts videos from a camera mounted to his helmet while driving his motorcycle. A video titled "From Colorado Springs to Denver in 20 Minutes" appeared to show him traveling at high speeds while weaving in and out of traffic in September 2023. The video has since been taken down, but Colorado State Patrol announced this week that they've issued an arrest warrant, alleging Dietzmann violated several laws and put "hundreds of people in jeopardy." The drive typically takes about an hour on Interstate 25, which has a speed limit of 65 mph or 75 mph, depending on the exact location, an increase from 55 mph in 2014. The speed limits almost everywhere except the bug cities are set too low. Then the police derive some of their budget from ticketing people for driving at an objectively safe speed that is above the posted limit. And we collectively pretend this is normal and ok. As I said, I think that whoever Swift's handlers are are making a mistake. They're shoving her puss out there too much. In addition to that, half of the people in this country lean left, and half lean right. If they push her to make her political views known, half of the people in this country will despise her, or hate her, or ridicule her. She may not care because she is so rich it doesn't matter, but she'd better be prepared for the onslaught. There will be nastiness directed at her.

LRob in OK: You all need to pass through OK, TX, KS, AR and visit a Braum's ice cream parlor. They are an OK company and have many flavors and make all yer standard stuff at much lower prices than the national chains. If you want, you can get some food there, too - it ain't terrible.

I'm doing well, sir, thanks! Work, as always, has been a GRIND. Missed this week's Gun Thread altogether, getting home well into the ONT. And then, some complex "projects" here at the hacienda. I've bought all the parts and pieces to put up a 20 ft. heavy pole for an antenna farm. Going up, will be OTA (over the air) TV antenna, a full weather station, an FM circular dipole antenna, a CB firestick, and just maybe, a HAM H.F. omnidirectional stick & radials, at the very top. I'm getting expert consultation from Duncanthrax on this, though his counsel has me "aiming lower" in terms of tech. But, I don't want to bring down the pole to install something later, that I'm kinda sure I'm going to NEED later, into the learning curve, of course. If that fails sabotage is presidency with lawsuits, general strikes and have the military intervene with martial law before Trump can take office. Posted by: Ciampino - Invasion #09 at January 30, 2024 02:23 AM (qfLjt) They won't need martial law. They have proven government edicts, as were issued during the COVID-1984 Dempanic, work. It's for our own good, you know. Posted by: RickZ at January 30, 2024 02:29 AM (emlEe) 347
{{JQ}}, I'd like to meet you at a MoMe somewhere. I am partial to Texas, it is the only one that I have ever been to.

340 Dozens of of US government workers - including Defense and State Departments - plan to go on one-day hunger strike for Gaza in protest to Biden's support of Israel on February 1
Can we fire them? https://mol.im/a/13020421 Posted by: Ciampino Dozens? That doesn't seem like much of a movement. Posted by: Puddleglum, cheer up for the worst is yet to come at January 30, 2024 02:31 AM (sAmhv) 349

Posted by: JM in illinois, behold the Manchurian President at January 30, 2024 02:23 AM (sb1xi) Distance in time makes the heart grow fonder, or some bullshit like that. Pope Frankie should just go ahead and change the crucifix and, instead of a cross, have Jesus nailed to a hammer and sickle. Posted by: RickZ at January 30, 2024 02:35 AM (emlEe) 350
So out of it -- I do not know a single Taylor Swift. I had best call it a night.

We'll just have to support each other here, Debby--
Hubby is very opposed to online meetup things, so I will respect his wishes. (Probably has to do with his XW having affair/leaving him for an online lover :roll We can't afford trips and live in nowheresville. He is not expected to have a 'normal' lifespan, so if the worst happens to him, before I wear out from caring for him... then I will make it to a MoMe somewhere Posted by: JQ at January 30, 2024 02:40 AM (njWTi) 352

Willie Dixon played bass on most of the classic Chuck Berry Chess Records recordings. Berry was backed by the Chess house band and it was stellar. It is worth going back and listening to the how loose and on point the ensemble playing is on those recordings; it is magic and is a wildly overlooked part of why those recordings still resonate and sound fresh today. In their own way that ensemble with Chuck Berry is the equal of the Louis Armstrong's Hot 5 and Hot 7 bands, and the great Be-Bop bands.
Here is a list of the people on the recordings. http://tinyurl.com/b6rcra6t Posted by: Lost in Space at January 30, 2024 03:04 AM (PutHg) 358

JQ, bring hubby along - there are easily 50-75 people at the Texas MoMe each year! Where do you guys live? If you want to come to Texas, I know that there are plenty of Morons who would be more than happy to help you guys get there 😊❤

Have yet to see a vehicle on my side of the road but keep getting red lights
Posted by: Skip at January 30, 2024 03:09 AM (Y6UyI) 363
Teresa, that's very sweet. But no, hubby isn't keen on meetups. Besides, he is starting to have episodes of encephalopathy (due to liver disease) and lengthy travel upsets him. Bad enough when we need to go 100 miles for his eye appts.
I'm not extroverted at all, but would go to a MoMe once hubby has passed on, or is safely in a facility. He can't manage his own ADLs and there is no *respite care* anywhere near us. Posted by: JQ at January 30, 2024 03:12 AM (njWTi) 364
So sorry to hear that, JQ - will keep both of you in my prayers. Would love to see you at a MoMe someday, but it will be bittersweet knowing why you are able to be there.
Gentle hugs, dear one! Posted by: Teresa in Fort Worth, Texas, AOS Ladies Brigade, Plucky Comic Relief at January 30, 2024 03:16 AM (SRRAx) Posted by: JQ at January 30, 2024 03:24 AM (njWTi) 366

Been to a couple of NoVA MoMe's. Always interesting to put human faces to blue boxes. There worth going to, if you can. I'm not a social critter by any stretch, so I tend to be a wallflower when I'm there.

Idaho? That's like, Canada, right? ;-)
It is a bit of a drive. So is Texas. I know they've had NW MoMe (Oregon or Washington I think) but those are a long drive for you too. Western States are big. Posted by: Puddleglum, cheer up for the worst is yet to come at January 30, 2024 04:08 AM (sAmhv) 374
Yeah, it's a long way to the coast from here, but only about 6-7 hours. "Canadia" IS closer.
