The technique is what makes this painting for me. I don't know if this counts as Pointillism but it seems similar. I'm fascinated at how he achieves some very rich colors by blending divergent drops of paint. It must be painstaking work.

On the first few of his paintings displayed on his Wikiart page, I like this one by far the best. Yeah, there's one with a topless model, and another with nude girls on a beach, but there's even more skill displayed here.
His "Portrait of Marguerite van Mons" was used on a paperback edition of a novel by Elizabeth Bowen that I tried to read last month. I failed; it was dull, since EB seemed determine not only to report what her characters said but then what they meant. The painting was better than the book. Car insurance just went up 32%. Did I have an accident or get a few tickets? Nope. Since 2020, car insurance rates in the U.S. have risen by a whopping 37%. The main reason? High-tech vehicles — aka anything remotely new — cost way more to repair. And you don’t need to have a high-tech car to feel the pinch. It’s hitting everyone. Driving up costs Our cars are packed with dozens of sensors and endless lines of computer code. Combine that with the rising cost of replacement parts and repairs, and voila, soaring auto insurance rates.

Another Fast & Furious Scandal? Mexico Demands Answers As Cartels Acquire US-Military Grade Weapons
Last week, at the SHOT Show in Las Vegas, a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) agent from a field office in southern Texas revealed to us that the agency is very concerned about a flood of 50 cal rifles and belt-fed machine guns that are illegally entering Mexico from the US. The cross-border firearms trafficking of military-grade US weaponry on the southern border is very concerning. Lawmakers on Capitol Hill should investigate this worrisome development to ensure the Biden administration does not repeat the Obama-era Fast and Furious program. The footage showed many undercover forces, some appearing to sport fake beards and others dressed as Muslim women, scouring the hospital corridors while carrying guns....The Israeli forces reportedly entered the medical center at 5:30 a.m. dressed as doctors, nurses, and Palestinian women, headed to a room on the third floor, and shot the surprised trio dead in their beds before escaping the building unscathed. Joe Biden is not coming for your gas stove: CNN Business....announced new energy efficiency standards for ovens and stoves, and the big takeaway is: Not much is changing. 97% of gas stoves on the market already meet the standards.
However there are cities here in CO that are banning natural gas hook ups in new buildings and remodels and only allow electric. Both residential and commercial. “Let me say again — to any country, any organization, anyone thinking of taking advantage of this situation, I have one word: Don’t. Don’t.” Fox News’ Jacqui Heinrich challenged White House national security spokesman John Kirby on Monday in the wake of an attack by an Iranian-backed militia that killed three U.S. soldiers. “It’s clear, obviously, that ‘Don’t’ didn’t work,” she observed. When she started out she was a sweet teen singing country songs about unrequited crushes, mean girls, getting dumped (yeah, even then), marrying her HS bf and living happily ever after. She did not engage in politics despite the entertainment media constantly asking her opinion on everything (e.g. abortion). Many years she did not take the bait, and then the entertainment gossip sites started saying she was maybe, kinda some sort of white Nazzzziii princess who's secretly so racist she keeps he mouth shut. It was ridiculous. Then she left country, went pop, started hanging out with activist Hollywood actresses and making all sorts of predictable and dumb feminist pronouncements blah blah blah. The Kanye moment, iirc, was back when she was still strictly about the music, and she had just won an award over Beyonce -- and Kanye was upset the maybe racist white girl beat Beyonce. Turns out that being able to open the tap and have it EVERYWHERE anytime you want to see it is really unhealthy and bad for culture. Gosh, who would've ever imagined such a thing. Posted by: M. Much of the popular music of my youth was good. Much was awful. But I have no illusions - the good stuff from the previous generation was better than in mine, and it was also better than the good stuff from one before them. It was a killer time for music. Popular music today is uniformly AWFUL.
