The attendees of the first World Romani Congress in 1971 unanimously voted to reject the use of all exonyms for the Romani, including "Gypsy".
The word "Gypsy" (educational context so I hope using this is fine here) is derived from "Egyptian", because when people with slightly browner skin than cottage cheese coloured English folks started showing up in the UK, many mistakenly presumed they were from Egypt. "Gitano" in Spanish seems to have the same background. On the other hand, "Tzigane" (French), "Zigeuner" (German) and "Cigány" (Hungarian) come from Greek afaik, from "Athinganos", the name of a Phrygian sect. The term Gypsy comes from “Egyptian” which is what the settled population perceived them to be because of their dark complexion. In reality, linguistic analysis of the Romani language proves that Romany Gypsies, like the European Roma, originally came from Northern India, probably around the 12th century.

He already is. She'll lose in Nevada and South Carolina. I hope President Biden can reiterate how much his policies are being beneficial to the economy. We may need divine intervention if the thug were to win. As the anti-Trump candidate, she needed some like-Trump candidates to hopefully split his vote. After losing in NH, she'll probably drop out. Like DeSantis she'll be looking at 2028 at her real chance. I think by the convention there will be some Republicans trying to figure out a way to blow things up and nominate someone else, because Trump will be an even bigger mess by then. Trump never did anything for America except for tax cuts to the rich. Reagan must be salivating at how much he dumbed down Americans. Democrats misunderstand...Trump's supporters don't care about policy achievements. They like Trump because he publicly expresses and validates whatever anger and grievance they feel about the world they live in. Rep. Dean Phillips on meeting MAGA for the first time. “I gotta tell you guys, I went to a Donald Trump rally a couple of nights ago. I’ve never been to one. I had an event across the street. I saw the line of people waiting in the cold for hours.” “And I thought what the heck. I’m going to be a leader who actually invited people, doesn’t condemn them.” “Met probably 50 Trump people waiting in line. Every single one of them: thoughtful, hospitable, friendly. Al of them so frustrated that they feel nobody is listening to them, except Donald Trump.” “A diverse crowd, people that have never been to a Trump event before.” “My party is completely delusional!” Remember this when Hillary Clinton or the Biden Administration says that MAGA needs to be “deprogrammed”. Guys you won't believe it: They're remaking A Christmas Carol with a race-bent Scrooge who "hates refugees." Your British Betters really hate "A Christmas Carol" roughly two years ago the BBC had a new "diverse" Christmas Carol wherein - Scrooge raped Bob Ratchet's Black wife. Yup, That's right. Why you may ask do Our Betters hate a pleasantry like a "A Christmas Carol" so much. It's pretty easy. Scrooge's problem is that he has a complete lack of Christian charity and happiness, as exemplified by his hatred of Christmas and the Christmas Spirt. Through the visits by the Ghosts he relearned the lessons of Christian charity and happiness and regains his lost Christmas Spirit. Our Betters seek to wipe out Christianity if not completely then completely from the public square. That is why they shuffle out these deformed woke zombies animated by woke "crimes" of "racism" or "misogyny" and literal crimes like rape. Dickens himself should rise from the grave and beat these clowns silly with a horsewhip. >> Gypsies are to be avoided like plague.
My Great Grandfather was a Shepherd in the old country (N. of Naples). One day he found the Gypsy camped on the family land and threw them off. The old Gypsy Lady cursed him and his family repeatedly as he did so. The next day, he lost 3 sheep while he was supposed to be watching them...instead of going home and getting his ass kicked by his father, he brought the sheep into the paddock and ran away. To America. Arrived here with less than $5 in his pocket. Knowing not a soul in America and never, ever returning home. Posted by: garrett at January 24, 2024 10:31 AM (mdhFC) 308
