76 I almost never keep one for more than a year or so. It's kinda sad because I start getting to know people right around the time things get weird again. The stress gets to be too much and I change my handle. It usually goes away for awhile. I don't know what is going on. I just notice people talking to me like they think I'm somebody they know but the things they say don't relate to me at all and their usually really creepy about it.

Posted by: Alberta Oil Peon at January 22, 2024 10:21 PM (tkR6S) The immediate effect would be cavity pressure fluctuations and maybe acoustic loads at structural resonance. And some loss of wing lift due to change in outer mold line. Wings are designed for some back pressure and cavity acoustic noise but certainly not positive internal cruise speed stagnation pressure + negative limit static on the outside. Not extremely likely but could result in structural failure. Important to remember the wing is just a fuel tank that happens to also hold you in the air. So it has a lot of panels and fixtures for dealing with fuel that have to then be buttoned down. Posted by: banana Dream at January 22, 2024 10:35 PM (jpxf6) 131

I was fairly jaded about the corporate world before - there is no loyalty to a company because companies sure are hell don't have any. Note...this doesn't mean you shouldn't have loyalty to your coworkers because that is a different story but the company...? Its a simple transaction I do this work you give me that money.
But this COVID shit just made me realize I wasn't jaded enough. At many companies (mine, fortunately for me, chickened out) they were willing to demand their employees get injected with poison to get a chance at government contracts. Posted by: 18-1 at January 22, 2024 10:51 PM (ibTVg) When there's no loyalty and no community, there's only money. Everyone with a desire to bake bread...from scratch
Bakers Flour + water (think Pancake mix thickness)..Large jar place inside, cover with cheesecloth place on warm dry shelf in your kitchen...yeast spores will form in a week or so. The batter will fluff up some. Cut out half the mixture and replace with equal parts of mixed fresh flour and water, cover and let set again for another week. The yeast will go to town then. When it fluffs up again...now you can portion out a bit into a full bread mixture to make some awesome SOURDOUGH BREAD. Just keep your starter dough healthy. It's like calling The Cars an 80's band. While most of their (fairly short) career was in the 80's, they had 2 hit albums in the 70's. Also, Elliot Easton was a much, much better guitarist than probably every "80's band" guitarist.

Seems most of the bands I was listening to in the 80s had started in the 70s. Rush for instance. U2 and The Police started in the late 70s. The Police had already had some success by the time the 80s rolled in. Same for The Cars. I read somewhere that The Cars first album was when the 80s began. That was 1978?

re the airplane story from NYPost: 30+ yrs ago I was on a nonstop from SeaTac to Atlanta, and I hate to fly.
I had a wondow seat, and as we were starting to cross the Rockies with some turbulence, had just ordered a drink and noticed while I was waiting that something was off with the wing: One of several triangular pieces, circular on top and flaring toward the base at the back edge of the wing, was missing two screws on one side of three on each side. When the attendant came, I ordered my bourbon (I hate to fly) and said, "Hey, is that supposed to do that?", pointing out the window to the vibrating piece. They looked, then lunged across my lap to stare, then stood up and said "It is normal for machinery to oscillate in flight, but I'll tell the captain of your concern, and it will be checked when we land. That was a double bourbon, right?" I said "yes please". I watched that thing shake all the way east, and that lovely person kept the shots coming. My late wife and I almost totally missed the 80s and half the 90s music. We got married in 75 and had 2 kids within 8 years. Bringing them up, work and so on pretty much meant that we ignored the music scene, plus it was Africa so much of the music was British and the US stuff was selective. My younger one did some internet-radio DJing and was instrumental in introducing me to many of the groups and music. When she had me sample some symphonic metal I was sold and have been a fan now for at least 20 years or so. Do not like death metal. When you consider that ubiquitous extreme cruelty and indifference is sort of unique to the internet and the role models in modern communication, it really does make sense that these kids would feel like shit any time someone makes a joke on the web. I've seen conversations go foul so many times based on no intended slight whatsoever.

I'll probably like death metal when I am dead. Thanks for the lighting advice, Horde. I have got my physical in the morning with a new doctor. This morning I had to pre-register, confirm the appointment and then answer a questionnaire. They asked me an awful lot of personal questions, it was much easier to lie and answer rather than checking the refused to answer box, that would be guaranteed to raise red flags, heck I would probably be escorted immediately from the doctor's office to a psych ward somewhere. I dislike modern medicine intensely. I grew up with the family doc making a housecall.

Jim, I just think Nikki is much more insidious. With Mittens, you know he's a milquetoast RINO from a milquetoast RINO family. Nikki is that woke wolf in conservative garb. IMAO, she is magnitudes worse than Mittens: Haley hides who she really is. But her cool demeanor still gets cracked by regular people calling her out. She cannot handle criticism -- at all. And I think she's much more corrupt, at least she is on my Political Corruption Scale. (If you must know, # 1 on my Political Corruption Scale is a joint award, the Clintons.)

Ciampino, The Clinton Foundation has garnered millions in bribes and stolen money. And they use that charity for nefarious means. Remember, they paid for the whole Russian Collusion hoax with the Steel Dossier. The Clintons, again IMAO, literally have had inconvenient people killed. 'Cause you know, Epstein didn't kill hisself. And why would the FBEye want murder victim, and DNC staffer, Seth Rich's computer's contents sealed for 66 years, just like the JFK Files? Could it be he was the one leaking Clinton dirt (DNC emails) to Wikileaks back in 2015-16? Crossing Hillary Clinton is not good for one's life expectancy.

Yesterday I did a literal back-of-the-envelope calc of my Fed taxes, and it looks like I will be getting a whopping refund -- more than I paid out of pocket last year. The difference is that I had SS take 10% out of each check this year. I could have told them to stop in August, and I'd be breaking even and would have had more money in my savings. Oh, well. There are Chinese secret police stations here already and in Canada. There was that Chinese bio-lab shut down not too long ago somewhere in California. But who? Honestly, does it matter? Look at Biden via Hunter and his Chinese 'business' partners. Anyone doing foreign business as a Chinese national is CCP. That's the ultimate controller, the puppeteer. 489 I recently had someone tell me they were absolutely convinced they could extricate one end of a pipe if they partially unscrewed the fitting from the other end. The alien plague engineered to wipe out humanity was revealed to be a "vision" that Dana Scully had. Which allowed, of course, for a continuation of the series.
