15 There's a pretty good documentary on Amazon/Freevee about Joe, basically it's a tour movie following him during the 30th anniversary of Surfing with the Alien tour.

In that same vein, just learned this week one of Eric Johnson's first big records was playing on Christopher Cross's debut, never would have guessed it.

Woke up an 90 minutes ago and have tried to get back to sleep. Kept hearing a click...pause...click sound. Like a electrical switch trying to turn on, or off, and failing or is it something rattling when the furnace runs, or...underwear gnomes???

Why is there a video link with someone holding a wedge of cheese on top of a model of a human brain right under this thread?

Honestly, many of the links here to fixes for what ails you or to "harmful" foods you oughtn't eat use some truly revolting images as their upfront gateways. How that draws in anyone to kick the tires is beyond me.

Remember GoBots? Which were kind of a rip off of Transformers back in the day?

Palworld is like that, but for Pokemon. It might have been pixy who mentioned this, but I read somewhere that the Pokemon fanbase have been asking for an open world game for quite some time. Whoever holds the IP has been reticent, thus someone put one together. So, 2 million copies at 26.99 a piece (the game is on special in steam.) Steam takes a cut, but even if it is 50%, that ain't bad.

They tend to get noisy when time to clean them. That "click" is electric arc.

I think Steam's cut is 30%.

Sales are now 3 million. So about $55 million to the developers.

That's a pretty decent payday for a game that cost around $10 million to make according to Wikipedia.

And that's two days of sales. Naturally the commies on Twitter are upset. (Though when are they not?)

39 On the EV trucking article, I wonder if they were doing deliveries in the colder temps that have hit us.

I've seen some of those goofy looking Amazon trucks moving around, not sure how long they can travel on a charge though.

41 Reading an article on those vans and it is claiming 150 miles on a charge. Considering the nearest warehouse is about 25 miles away, they get about a 100 miles of delivery before they run out of electricals. And that's without the heater on, I'm guessing.

At least one of the truckers quoted is based in Calif., probably the southern half. Ideal weather for short-range electric use. Delivery routes like the ones in the article, servicing grocery stores, etc., sound like a good use of the technology; you take your 100% charged vehicle out, hit the same stores or customers every day, and back to the terminal with, say, 65% charge left. (Optimistic, of course. No mention of whether the trucks have A/C.)

For everyday people who might want or need to drive four hours each way to visit family in very cold or very hot weather? Uh, no.

50 For truckers driving EVs, there's no going back

For left-tard, shorthaul truckers driving EV's in major metros, there's no going back. Also, most have been using less than a year, so don't know true cost of ownership.

Fixed.

There is another way to look at this. Steams cut for doing nothing but providing infrastructure: 24 million. Every game, 30%. That is insane. I mean, good on them and you can see why actual game development is just a side line vanity thing for Valve these days. I wonder how much server upkeep and infrastructure costs?

For games, almost everyone takes 30%. Steam, Microsoft, Apple, Sony, Nintendo, Amazon, Walmart...

Epic only takes 12%, and it seems that Steam has a sliding scale that decreases as sales increase, so on Palworld the cut would be 20%.

65 Halderman was able to HACK A DOMINION VOTING MACHINE and change the tabulation in front of U.S. District Judge Amy Totenberg in the courtroom!

So those representing the Georgia secretary, he asked the main counsel to borrow his pen that he was writing with. And then he goes over to the power button, leans down, he holds down the power button for between five to 10 seconds, probably 7 seconds, and it automatically puts the machine in safe mode.

…And this reboot happens. And he then shows the judge the display and it shows a picture of the on off button as he’s pushing it for five to 10 seconds to instigate the reboot. But before you reboot the whole thing there’ll be something that comes up to ask if he wants to go into safe mode, and then he pushes. Yes. So it doesn’t shut it down or reboot. He just goes into safe mode. And that allows him to open up files and change the content of files.

The actual Wolfcreek Pass would confuse younger people as to the point of that song. It's been widened and improved enough that *I* was able to drive it comfortably. I have vague memories of the way it used to be, so the song makes complete sense to me.
