One of my few erroneous predictions in my life was that Covid was going to kill off a massive number of homeless.

:: record scratch ::

I mean it is kind of logical in a way. A virus carried by bats that avoid sunlight probably has an aversion to it itself. What is the opposite of a damp cold dark cave?

6 Evening to Pixy, and morning to the rest of the insomaniacals! Thursday morning, right? I've got our monthly staff meeting today. No doubt our boss, that Master of Morale, will read us the Riot Act about how we've disappointed him lately. To be fair, he doesn't do that much, but somehow the start of this year has been different. Well, it's only an hour out of my "busy" life.

As I mentioned on the ONT, my A1C is down to practically normal after the three months' change in my diet. My doctor is not worried about the tiny rise in my "bad" cholesterol. To be fair on that, what I've been eating this fall pretty much is a keto diet, and my research says you can see a rise in LDL with a keto regimen. I'll look into supplements for that.

8 Time to say goodbye.

I have decided that I need to free up more time during my day. So, while I'll continue being an avid reader of AOSHQ, I will do everything in my power not to click on the COMMENTS link any longer - not even just to lurk.

I'd like to thank you all for being whom you appear to be. Everyone has their differences but a Kamala Venn diagram would show that the Horde resides on a large center intersection.

I've learned a lot and tried to contribute here and there.

Thank you Ace, JJ, CBD, Pixy and all the other contributors. Don't stop until everything you want has been accomplished.

Regards from the eternal capital city of the Jewish Nation.

Which reminds me: F*** Joe Biden and the regime which controls them all.

17 I'm not sure what a Michael Moore endorsement carries. I do know I loathe the bastard and for me, it carries nothing. I have no problem with Ace and his opinion. There is some validity to it. Not everybody who voted and will vote for Trump like the guy. Some posters have a culty vibe in regard to Trump and that isn't healthy. Sixth grade level taunts at DeSantis are just lame. Grow up.

The Moore thing was for 2016 though, probably when they were trying to push Trump as the Republican nominee, thinking he'd be an easy win for Hillary.

I think Ace's feelings with Trump are similar to my own. Disappointment in his time in office, more disappointment afterwards as he abandoned all those who fought for him, and now more just "shut up already" as he's doing the same shit despite failing to do most of what he claimed he do, and is trying to destroy the future of the party because some dared challenge him.

I'll still vote for him in Nov, but he's proven that it's all about him, and he'll destroy other actual conservatives if they refuse to blow him. He needs to start thinking about more than his ego.

Also he's being harmed by so many of his supporters who are now seeming more and more like Democrat plants, who are working overtime to really push away 30%+ of the party that he needs to win. They think they can chase away DeSantis supporters and win? Not a chance. Trump needs every vote to beat the steal, but they act like he's got an easy 150 million votes.

On Jan. 16, 2024, a user on X (formerly Twitter) named @Sadie_NC posted a video clip that displayed the caption, "Michael Moore Supporting Trump."
snip...
The video was sourced from Moore's 2016 film, "Michael Moore in TrumpLand." In the clip, Moore says a number of things that make it seem like he is siding with Trump supporters and is perhaps endorsing his candidacy.

Oh, well. It seemed recent when he talked about the tariff thing.

It's amazing how those little things add up.

I spent over a year tweaking the windows and doors in the old place. Back in the day when the house was build, the doors were weatherstripped with a system of spring brass strips and interlocking groves on the door frame. Over the years, nobody understood their significance, so they just slapped on that self adhesive crap around the perimeter. I got that system restored, rebuilt the bay window decking, and the change was incredible.

I assume this is about Saint George.

It would be nice for someone to point out that the very same people complaining about disparate impact and police brutality in their communities the 80s led to the looser policing and higher crime situations of their communities (along with their own not caring about themselves or each other and calling it culture), all of which led to the militarization and eventual harsh-handling that HAD to occur in order to address the out of control crime situations, meaning even silly little crap gets handled by the brutal departmental policy book and by grizzled, harsh cops that are sick of dealing with the cancer of your culture day in and day out.

I know I'm an ignorant knuckle dragger so perhaps someone can help me out. Do MBA classes specifically teach students flowery ways to say they're getting rid of someone?

266 " Do MBA classes specifically teach students flowery ways to say they're getting rid of someone?"

I can't say that it's exclusively an MBA thing.

But I have seen a distinct trend amongst Progressives to come up with convoluted ways of saying straight forward ideas.

Some of it makes me want to pull out what little hair I have left, and scream...English, MFer....do you speak it?!!!!
