Dick’s Sporting Goods former CEO defends company’s anti-gun stance despite costly backlash

The ex-CEO of Dick’s Sporting Goods defended the company’s moves to restrict gun purchases at its outlets as a reaction to a 2018 school shooting, a decision that cost the popular retail chain tens of millions of dollars.

Dick’s Executive Chairman Ed Stack was among the corporate leaders appearing at NRF 2024: Retail’s Big Show in New York City this week and on Monday, he stood by the move that pleased gun-grabbing leftists but alienated loyal customers.

Not only do Da Bears suck. So do EVs in Chicago. Ha-Ha-Ha-Ha

Tesla supercharging station packed in Oak Brook, dead cars line parking lot due to frigid temps

OAK BROOK, Ill. - Electric vehicles may be the way of the future, but many EV owners are having trouble dealing with Chicago’s bitterly cold temperatures.

Public charging stations have turned into car graveyards over the past couple of days.

But it was no laughing matter to people like Kevin Sumrak, who landed at O’Hare on Sunday night to find his Tesla dead.

Sumlak was forced to hire a flatbed tow truck to try to find a working charging station.

MORE: Chicago's Wind Chill Warning continues as arctic blast sets in

Tesla didn’t respond to FOX 32's emails or calls, but a Chicago area car expert says there are some things EV owners can do when it gets this cold.

"Like any new technology, there’s a learning curve for people," said Mark Bilek of the Chicago Auto Trade Association.

I think I have a few more Ha-Ha-Ha-Ha-Has left. A cousin of mine sent me this story his comment was, "Sorry, you can not pay me to have an EV as my primary transportation. A hybrid maybe but an EV is a trap."

I don't follow the NFL that closely anymore. So I had my doubts that a playoff game would stream to 23 million viewers. I was wrong.

Surprisingly, Peacock managed to survive pretty well. There aren't widespread reports out there of major problems. Previously, the service had an exclusive regular-season game, a Bills-Chargers week 16 matchup on December 23 that drew 7.2 million viewers. That game helped work out the growing pains for Peacock, with users complaining of poor streaming quality and muted colors.

The NFL is basically the only institution keeping traditional broadcast TV alive. Of the top 100 highest-rated US TV broadcasts in 2023, a staggering 93 of them were NFL games. Lucrative TV contracts will keep most games on broadcast TV for the foreseeable future, but even the NFL is slowly transitioning to streaming. The weekly Thursday Night Football game is now exclusive to Amazon Prime; ESPN+ gets one exclusive game per season, and Peacock has these two games this year. The biggest NFL package, NFL Sunday Ticket, which gives fans about 13 out-of-market games every Sunday, moved from DirecTV to YouTube TV this season. The NFL even has its own streaming platform, NFL+, though it takes a backseat to partner services.

Someone is satisfied. Hit man is hit.

A Serbian man who was gunned down in front of his family has reportedly been identified as a hitman on Interpol’s wanted list, according to reports.

A gunman shot and killed Darko Geisler, 43, in front of his wife and three-year-old son as they returned to their home in Brazil last week. Police learned during the homicide investigation that Geisler was allegedly a hitman wanted by Interpol for multiple contract killings.

Loud Sex Noises Lead to St. Louis Robber Getting Busted
Marion Jones’ penchant for porn directly led to his arrest

A robber who parked outside a Waffle House outed himself in an unusual way in 2021, court records show.
In October 2021, 49-year-old Marion Jones robbed a Footlocker store in south St. Louis. He might have gotten away with the crime, too, if he'd only used some earbuds. Or not watched porn in his car outside a Waffle House.

The robbery began when Jones' accomplice Demetrius Kirksey, 35, pointed a handgun at an employee of the shoe store, telling him, "Back up, back up, I'll shoot you." Jones stole shoes while Kirksey stole $800 in cash and the two of them made off together in a maroon SUV.

Kirksey was taken into custody in April 2022 and pleaded guilty to his role in the robbery earlier this week.

Jones didn't make it on the lam quite as long.

Two days after the robbery Jones was in a Chevy Equinox outside a Waffle House in St. Charles near the Ameristar casino. A concerned patron heard what sounded like "a female in distress" in the Equinox and called police.

78 That last ad, I've done all three jobs. Dishwasher is hot, sweaty toil, but maybe the best of the three.

You're just cranking out work at Mach 1, but they're mostly leaving you alone, long as you're getting it done.

Bussing tables is BACKBREAKING work, especially where I worked in a Soup & Salad restaurant. There is not a heavier bus-tub known to man; full of heavy crockery plates & bowls, wet, leftover salads, half-consumed bowls of soup and soaked, soggy breads.

Add in the glassware and utensils, and you're talking weight. Now, carry that stack of two or three full tubs back to the dishwashing station. When you're 16 y/o and weigh maybe a buck fifty.

Server? A tenth of the lifting, ten TIMES the hassle. It is NOT easy to keep a Station of four or five tables happy, even with the help of your busser, keeping glasses topped off and "finished with" plates and bowls, cleared.

Don't forget to smile!

Unfortunately, Dick's hasn't paid a big price, at least as it regards their stock. Over the last five or six years, the stock has quadrupled.

The reason is simple. There are not many sporting goods stores with nationwide reach anymore. Dick's is simply the last chain standing, and they've benefited from that, even though the could have made more money selling firearms.

It used to be the "extension plug" gimmick. Now it's the 800A super-charging station to jack your F-150 Lightening up in a couple hours.

And you'll need a shit ton of permits, pay for the new service lines and be willing to have the CO-OP shunt that power elsewhere if needed.

And since it's been sub-freezing and damn near zero the last couple days/nights here in KY the number of Teslas on the road is about zero.

And further to that comment, a lot of people that own electric bicycles live in apartments and charge them there. And when you daisy chain those bikes off of outlets, pretty soon you have battery fires.
Batteries store potential electrical energy by reversible chemical reactions. To get higher energy density, the chemical reactions might become more violent, ie, more exothermic, when charging (reversing the charge). And start fires.
Is this.....sustainable? To use that worn out "Green" cliche.

Because none have them have gone through the expense of installing a level 2 or level 3 charger and are usually just plugging it directly into a 110v15A outlet.

This will take approximately 8 to 12 hours to bring you from say 20pct state of charge to 80pct state of charge.

This is sub-optimal, so that's why they are constantly on the hunt for the few and working charging stations.

I know if they wouldn’t leave when I told them and the police won’t remove them there is going to be trouble. And it won’t be River City trouble.

166 If we as a society were really serious about making cars all electric, the only sensible way to do it would be to make the batteries exchangeable, exactly the same as propane tanks for a barbecue. Drive in to a battery station, the drop the old one out, and lock a new one in. Each battery has its own kWh meter, and you pay only for the actual energy consumed. Have maybe 2 or 3 standard sizes of battery, and electric vehicles could use one or multiples of one size or mixed sizes as their designers see fit. When you buy or lease a car, you also buy or lease a set of batteries, just as you buy a propane tank for your grill.

Best if one person makes the connections at both ends. Less chance of an error being made, and if something bad happens, there's one person clearly at fault.

And I didn't know that Subarus all had the battery in the trunk. It's usually bad policy to make the final connection to a battery post, as even a correct connection can make a spark, and batteries can evolve hydrogen. Hydrogen plus spark = bad juju. Make the final connection to a grounded engine part on the vehicle being jumped. Which is admittedly hard to do with trunk-mounted batteries.

The record low here for today, the 16th is -5F, set in 1893. That's just one degree higher than the all time record low of -6F, set in 1966 (that was late Jan, the 29th, I believe).

A couple days ago I was looking at the low temp records for the various states. All below zero (except Hawaii). Florida's record low was -2F in Feb, of 1899.

That was a very cold winter, must've been on hell of an arctic air mass blast. And so I looked at our Feb records, and sure enough Feb of 1899 showed up big time. It set 3 daily low records over Feb 13 - 15, as well as three daily lowest high records.

The all time lowest high was 18F on Dec 31, 1917. Winter of '17 - '18 was another cold one.

The heat of the engine compartment is hard on batteries. And moving 40 pounds of lead from the front of the car to the rear generally helps to achieve a more balanced front/rear weight distribution, and better handling.

If you are going to do that, though, it would be prudent to provide a pair of jump-start terminals in the engine bay.

Instead, there was a very distinct Battery Junction Point up in the engine compartment, and yep, that's where you'd hook up any jumper cables, if needed.

The fleet of Ford Transit commercial vans I manage now, has a similar Battery Junction Point, up under their wee, pug-nosed hoods.

If someone here is fluent in Subaru-ese, maybe they can point out if, yes/no, the Subies have such a Junction Point, up front? If "yes", then moar evidence of our Tab B (squared) team, in fact, compounding their automotive misadventure?

234 >> And I've got TWO big pans of water, gently steaming, to help prevent this.

What's the current dew point where you're at? I'm betting it's way low. When it gets down very low, it takes a lot of water vapor to keep up.

Official dew point here in Simpsonville, SC is 6F, but a guy, a pilot, that lives at a little airstrip just over the way is reading 12F right here.

I've got a little humidifier going, but when it drops below 20F dew point, it can't keep up. Two could probably keep in the mid 40% RH range.

238 The heat of the engine compartment is hard on batteries. And moving 40 pounds of lead from the front of the car to the rear generally helps to achieve a more balanced front/rear weight distribution, and better handling.

If you are going to do that, though, it would be prudent to provide a pair of jump-start terminals in the engine bay.

That's a real good question. I don't really know. But i do know that the Toyota Prius hybrids own the taxicab market in Canada, where it can get real cold. Of course taxicabs are rarely shut down for any length of time.

Maybe they have protective circuitry for the batteries that limits their charge/discharge rate in extreme temperatures, and simply run the gas engine more?

I'm fascinated how the rain gauge works in those weather stations. It's a tipping bucket design. The rain collector feeds a funnel, which flows the water into a little see-saw contraption, with two "buckets". When one bucket fills up, it tips over, spilling out and flipping the other bucket into position. There's a catch affair there to lock into any given position until it gets heavy enough to trip.

Each trip triggers a counter, and that's how it measures rainfall rate and accumulation.

I got to reading about how some of the really fancy ASOS/AWOS official stations do it, and some of it gets really complex and expensive.

For example, some of them now use ultrasonic wind speed and direction sensors. Bounce those ultrasonic pulses in several directions and wind speed and direction can be computed from time-of-flight.

Dew point measurement can get fancy as well. One desing was a chilled (and heated) mirror using optical sensors. You tried to keep the mirror temp just where a thin film of moisture would condense and the optical sensors would detect that. That was problematic.

Now a lot them use a hygrometer, supposed to be very accurate (it directly measures RH, how I'm not sure) and then dew point is calculated.

The first half of my time was on stations in the middle of nowhere (Nebraska-cornfield, literally and UK-Sheep grazed on what was a WWII airfield but now had antennas). My time at MacDill, it had no official Wing there. The air traffic was mostly SOCOM, CENTCOM, NOAA, Reserves/Guard.

Mike, my little humidifier is about the same. 1 gallon tank, and it will put out about 2 gallons per day on the high setting, 1 gallon per day on the low.

It varies a bit depending on ambient conditions. When the RH gets down to about 40%, it will dump a gallon in a bit less than 10 hours. Low 50%, and it's about 12 hours.

Most of these little weather stations use some type of hygrometer (RH directly). The accuracy on those, depending is not as accurate.

I was just reading. The fancy official ones use a capacitive method to determine RH. Someone, the capacitance of something depends on RH. It has to be heated, though, as you're going for some equilibrium thing, just like keep the mirror right at the dew point.

The dielectric constant of air varies with relative humidity, and also with pressure and temperature. So you could build a capacitance bridge with two air-dielectric capacitors, one using ambient air, and one using dry air behind an elastic membrane. Use these capacitors to determine frequency of a RF oscillator, and count the frequency, and do some math. Using two capacitors means you could null out deltas due to air pressure alone.

The red LED for the optic motion tracker wouldn't light, and the mouse buttons were dead, too. And I handled it carefully, too.

I had an old almost New In Box cordless mouse and keyboard set, and I took that mouse, installed new batteries, and it worked on this machine. But with a desktop PC, cordless peripherals are useless frippery. The tower is right there, and the keyboard and mouse are on the pull-out tray directly above it.

They have those units, I forget what they're called. Blows air with a fan over a wetted element and measured wet bulb temp. There is likely some reason these aren't too suited from the automated stations, but I don't know why.

Psychrometry is one of the most complex sub branches of thermodynamics. Makes my head hurt. But this holds:

Dry bulb T > Wet bulb T > dew point. They converge to the same value at 100% RH. If you know two, you know the other.

For an automated station, the fact that it consumes water would be a deal-breaker, I expect. And in sub-freezing temperatures, your water supply might freeze. And a moist pad, with air blowing over might get colonized by molds, etc.

Yeah, the Kestrels sound like a dandy gadget to own, and quite affordable if one is engaged in some activity where precise knowledge of local atmospheric conditions is crucial, like flying or long-range shooting.

343 JQ. A word about the OBSESSION with PRECISION that our own 1000 yd., F-Class, WORLD CHAMPION (2017) shooter (Weasel) does with his handloads.

Take a box of 100 bullets. Sierra 140 gr. Match King, HPBT, in 6.5 mm/.264 diameter.

He'll weight and sort them, one by one. Heaviest 10% are rejected, same for lightest 10%.

Now, he'll put 'em all through a tool, that measures the diameter of the Ogive, to a very precise stack of tens of thousands of inches, from the base of the bullet, to where the Ogive "touches" the tool. Bullets that fall SHORT of touching that tool by the appointed height, get sorted out. Bullets that touch it too soon, the same.

He does not load a cartridge by "OVERALL length", but by the measurement of the bottom of the cartridge rim, to where the Ogive meets a VERY SPECIFIC diameter, which determines how many hundreds or thousandths of an inch, the bullet travels, before contacting the rifling, after the chamber itself.

Which, determines INTERNAL PRESSURE, given EXACT precision, as to charge weight, case mouth concentricity, perfectly true case mouth wall thickness, perfect primer seating, and more.

You can define psychrometry as the study of gas-vapor mixtures. But you have to use the definition of gas as meaning above critical temperature.

At any rate, one or more of the components of the mixture can change phase over the range of conditions of interest.

The most important one for meteorology and weather is air-water vapor mixtures. It's all the condensing and evaporating and sublimating and deposition (inverse sublimation) that makes things very complex.

Heh. True, dat. Seems to me that charts that are too dense with parameters become unwieldy to use. Keep it simple. If you have to chart in three or more parameters, have a book of charts, where one parameter varies by page.

They are trying to impose that definition of vapor vs gas, but it's not set in stone. At any rate, a vapor could be condensed to a liquid (or desublimated to solid, depending) by isothermal compression alone. A gas, above critical temperature could never be liquefied by compression alone. It would have to be cooled as well.

And I'm trying to remember something interesting about air-water mixtures from a class in thermo way back. There is some complex term, in the general case, that becomes unity and drops out with air-water mixtures.

It was complex mess, but for the range of interest of air-water mixes on Erf at least, it becomes one. If it didn't, it would make the "wet bulb" thing be a very, very complicated expression indeed.

My cousin, the retired meteorologist got his start in the Air Force. His father wanted him to go to college, but he ran off and joined the Air Force, and that's where he learned the trade.

His first posting was in AK. His job was, when he was on duty, to go out and take readings and measurements every hour on the hour. The wet-bulb with a sling psychrometer was one of those measurements.

Now, what if it's freezing? Technically, you do "wet bulb" with ice, but it would take a very long time to equilibriate and be useless. So, they used some time of antifreeze in the water. You'd think that would mess things up, but the right antifreeze won't. He couldn't remember what they used. Maybe someone here who knows some chemistry might know what it was.

Anyway, take your wet-bulb, then come back in and use the psychrometric chart to read dew point.

354 JQ. The "Standard Deviation" of rifle cartridge velocities, matters not at all at 50 yards. Can open a "cloverleaf" to a 1" group, at 100 yards.

At 500 yards, one is dropping shots out of the "X" ring.

At 1000 yards, one is dropping shots out of the "10" ring. And even ONE of those, you don't just "lose" the match. You're not on the podium, you're not even in the Top Ten.

The diagnosis that Velocity Spread is your shooting problem? Vertical Stringing. They've all GOT to be going (as close as humanly possible) the SAME SPEED to hit the SAME POINT OF IMPACT, at those distances.

Oh, and for EACH rifle and it's OWN CHAMBER, a separate set of loading dies is made. Send off a handful of fired cases from THAT rifle, and the dies are made from the dimensions of THOSE cases.

Yeah. World's Records are not lightly achieved, nor won.

(Weasel's squad, still holds the unbroken Worlds Record, fired at the 2017 Ontario, Canada World F Class Championship Matches.)

Strong wind, though, with a couple more inches tomorrow/Friday which will stick right on top of the couple of inches that are now frozen. in other words, a typical winter in northern Queens. And, I must say, typical for the first time in a couple of years. I know last winter we had no snow accumulating storms, just flurries/light dustings that melted almost immediately as it never really got super cold enough to stick. But with temps in the 20s Monday through today, any snow will stick. We don't warm up again until Monday/Tuesday. Like I said, a typical winter.

365 Jim-- that's all great info. I mean, I can certainly appreciate the hard work (MATH!!!!) that it takes, to achieve such outcomes.

Again... I don't handload. I know damned little about long-range shooting. (never was my "thing" regardless of employment)

Can't afford ammo these days anyway... We're *broke* now, thanks to FJB and his sh!tty policies. Got a small stash, properly stored, but that's IT.

We'll be among the first to bite it, when TSHTF. That's OK. We've had a good life... and won't be goin' down alone LOL

I was just looking -- there's quite a few people with these weather stations around here on the Wunderground network. There's one guy, about 2 -3 miles from here. His readings are always flaky. In the summer, he gets crazy high temp reading, and now, in winter, he's getting crazy low readings.

I'm wondering if he's got his station mounted to close to a heat pump unit. That would blow very hot air in the summer, and cold air in the winter. But then I got to looking, his dew point numbers are jumping all over the place, as well.

His temp and dew point have been jumping up and down, range of 5 - 10F. His pressure reading did a little crazy jump as well.

He's got that thing mounted somewhere he shouldn't, or his unit is just messed up.

But knowing a bit of how HE does the reloading thing, should make any of US a bit better at it, should we dive down even the BASIC loading rabbit hole, ourselves.

I'm thankful that simple, straight-wall pistol reloads, ain't quite so demanding?

370 JEEZE...surfboards sure...In my high school days I did try the kneeboard at Huntington Beach for a time which required 3 fins for stability but the nose would dig in and throw you into the shallow water sand mid tube most times which effin hurt big time so it was a short chapter on THAT board for me. Did try a long board down in Baja one summer...almost died there too. as there were NO Lifeguards down where we were surfing and 14 foot waves I was stupidly playing with.

A story for another day...

371 Jim, we don't own even a single set of dies... I think hubby got a rock-chucker (decades ago) as a 'milestone' employee gift. Who knows where he put it? He can't remember... Probably in one of the outbuildings...

Really, we only have about 60k 22s and maybe 3-5k each of larger handgub, plus few cases of ss, and maybe 2k each of various riffle. We'll be alright, until it runs out.

Good neighbor also knows what's up-- will receive a large portion from us if SHTF.

372 JQ. I'm rockin' a fairly simple, single stage Lee press, and a few RCBS dies, mixed with some Lee specialty dies, which are great stuff.

I'm NOT doing PRECISION rifle reloading, as I haven't invested in the myriad specialty measuring tools to make THAT happen.

But yeah. Most Pistol Ammo is best delivered by the case, via UPS, to the front door.

The 3rd bedroom here is "The Gun Room". It's closet is the Ammo Locker. Descriptive, enough?

376 Last night we were at a BBQ (ate outside at around 8c/46f).

To warm me up, the host asked if I'd like to try some of his home-concocted spicy vodka. He had put around 6 orange colored peppers into the bottle.

The peppers were a variety bred by Ed Currie. Not the Reaper but somewhere south of it. I was smart enough not to gulp back the amount which filled the bottom of my glass. I suppose I took a bit more than a teaspoon to taste.

F I R E ! ! !

Now, I'm a guy who likes spicy but this was way above anything I've had until now. It took a lot of bread and water to stop the eye watering and reduce the throat and mouth burn to a glowing coal level.

Lesson learned. At least my sinuses are cleared.

384 Jim--

I took a tour of the other plant areas (having been only working in the "assembly" sections) and, wow!

Bullet production was the most interesting. They took the lead billets (~80-90lb each) and put them into hydraulic presses... out came hot lead wire! Kinda like a Play-Doh machine. Then, threaded thru another machine what cut the wire into chunks. Then, the chunks went thru a processor and ended up in a dial-feed thing what swaged them into rough (or final) forms. Then, (maybe) on to copper plating. Then, to "re-strike" (a final swaging process) ... Awesome to behold.

For me, a good Japanese Curry does the sinus trick.

And TASTES BETTER in the doing.

Is best with some previously cooked, slightly charred meat, atop the rice and under the sauce.

Oh, and the rice. I cook my own blend, the old way in a saucepan and lid, steamed with boiled-off water with some chicken stock and unsalted butter.

You'd all envy my rice. Everyone who has tried it, does.

But, both are awesome, Big Game bullets, that tend to remain intact, even if the game is Elk, Buffalo or Elephant.

391 I usually make my own sashimi. What we get from out local fish monger is top rate.

I make wasabi from the powdered wasabi that comes in small glass jars. I need to step back once or twice while blending in the water.

We eat sushi out for the convenience and change of scenery (Mrs. BD doesn't have to look over a sink post meal). I haven't been to a great sushi restaurant in years. Keeping kosher limits our selection of restaurants.

Go far back enough, and my Duty Round was the CCI Lawman, 158 gr. JHP, .357 Magnum. Late 1970s, early '80s. Yellow, plastic "reloaders" hinged lid box.

Before the Lawyers.

They were HOT rounds. Flattened primers. HURT to shoot, even from the S&W Model 28, N frame revolver.

But shot to "X" ring accuracy at 50 yards, because the ammo was THAT consistent, every shot the same.

IRRC, they were loaded to an even higher SAMMI pressure, than is published or allowed for, now.

MUCH higher. Would've made Elmer Keith smile, though.

398 Biden's Dog sniffs a whole lotta malarkey,

Here's a recipe for Japanese eggplant in the microwave I discovered years ago. Takes about 20 minutes:

Japanese eggplant halved lengthwise, making a few slits in the flesh, then placed cut side down in a microwave safe dish with Kikkoman lite soy to cover about half to three-quarters up the eggplant, sprinkling in garlic slices and grated/minced ginger. Cook on high about 20 minutes, no cover, checking after 15 minutes and so on, just to make sure you don't lose all the liquid. Once fully cooked (knife tender), put it on a plate cut side up and just scoop it out and eat. If you have some kind of duk/sweet and sour sauce hanging around, you can put a little of that on top as well.

Eggplant cooks surprisingly well in a microwave. Glad I found that out. I like eggplant.

399 bullet diameters:

9mm= .355"
.40= .400"
.45= .450"

Posted by: JQ at January 17, 2024 03:12 AM (njWTi)

400 JQ. The .40 Gold Dot is impressive.

I ended my career though, opting for the Winchester Silvertip .357 Mag, in the 145 gr. loading.

Two reasons. Tests showing the aluminum jacket really played sneaky with denim, leather and other obstructive clothing.

And. Seeing a full autopsy of a felon shot by an officer with two rounds of the Silvertip. Liver and Lung SOUP, is not something you want to see on your menu, trust me on that.

Oh, and by then, the truly HOT "Lawman" rounds? They'd been watered down, into something less, than the originals.

401 No problemo, Jim!

Every shooter has their preference. I respect that! Experiences are key, as to ammo choice. (And recco's from brothers in arms!)

The BEST ROUND, is the one in your chamber, what fires when you need it, no matter who/where it's made.

Posted by: JQ at January 17, 2024 03:19 AM (njWTi)

402 .38 spl/ .357mag were same diameter... lemme think...

.358"? Jeez, been a while.

Posted by: JQ at January 17, 2024 03:21 AM (njWTi)

403 JQ.

.22 LR (.223)

.38 Special. (.357)

.41 Magnum. (.410)

.44 Magnum (.429)

.22 and .38 diameters, affected by old blackpowder days, "heel" loaded bullets, there the external dimater of the brass case, was also the diameter of the projectile itself.

The .22 LR, was the HEEL diameter. The .38 Special was the CASE diameter. The .357 mag used the same bullet as the .38, but used the HEEL nomenclature, so as to separate the two, in peoples minds. (and ammo lockers).

405 We discontinued the .41 years ago. Not enough demand.

Posted by: JQ at January 17, 2024 03:30 AM (njWTi)

406 the 'specials' aren't quite as powerful as the 'mags'

Both need to go

Posted by: JQ at January 17, 2024 03:33 AM (njWTi)

407 JQ.

Sweet Spot seems to be the "Special +P" pressure levels.

Bit more oomph than the Special, not the crackenloudenboomen of the Magnums.

Oh, and that 145 gr. Silvertip? Full Magnum performance, but only +P blast and recoil. Don't ask me how they did that, but they did.

I still keep those loads for that gun, to this day.

I've gone to work in worse in Denver -- and here for that matter.

Anyway! Up early, going to stretch and do my calisthenics. Got my doctor visit this pm. Perhaps I'll find out if my no-junk-food regimen of the last three months has achieved anything (aside from my losing an inch or so off my waist).
