Gonna be a tough day, folken. I get home yesterday and find a note from the apartment "management" (should be "derangement") on my door. A peremptory notice that I am in default, somehow, to the tune of $422. No explanation, just a form letter threat that in five days they'll throw me in the street. I'll call them this morning. The place where they sit all day -- in competent places it would be called an office -- closes at the stroke of five p.m., so getting there this afternoon is a strain.
$422? If I'd missed a rent payment (I haven't, unless they lost my check) it would be more than that. They've made errors before: Once they said I owed for a covered parking space, but I pointed out that I'd never had such a thing, and they admitted their error. We'll see. I checked my lease, and I have been paying the amount on it, a round number, right along. Where could they have gotten the $2.00? There are two archetypes of the "insufferable car selfie". One is the listen to me hyperventilate about something i know nothing about in this fifteen seconds video. The other is the look at how this seat belt accentuates my bazooms picture.

I'm not a gooble advertiser, but I got this email:
Dear Advertiser, "In February 2024, Google will update the Inappropriate content policy to clarify the definition of Sensitive Events. A "Sensitive Event" is an unforeseen event or development that creates significant risk to Google's ability to provide high quality, relevant information and ground truth, and reduce insensitive or exploitative content in prominent and monetized features. During a Sensitive Event, we may take a variety of actions to address these risks. Examples of Sensitive Events include events with significant social, cultural, or political impact, such as civil emergencies, natural disasters, public health emergencies, terrorism and related activities, conflict, or mass acts of violence. Yes, but then you'd have Discworld novels. I do not understand the adulation Pratchett gets, especially among otherwise conservative readers. All of his books boil down to "I'm much, much smarter than everyone else, and here's why English-style socialism is best". Posted by: Daniel Ream at January 12, 2024 10:08 AM (/0tPK) 234
