A woman punched her father in the head during an argument Christmas morning about the beeping sound made by the 73-year-old victim’s oxygen machine, police allege. According to an arrest affidavit, Christina Granados, 49, admitted striking her parent when questioned by cops who responded around 5 AM to the Lady Lake, Florida home that Granados shares with her father. The victim told officers that he argued with his daughter “about the oxygen machine making a beeping sound” before Granados “punched him in the left side of his head” on December 25. Granados, cops reported, said the pair quarreled “over his oxygen machine and due to the way her father was speaking to her.”

Finally got my MRI done today. Now it's up to the surgeon to intepret it.
Must be nearly fifty years ago, my eldest brother (RIP) introduced me to Industrial Metal, a kind of instrumental version of Yoko Ono singing. The clatter, bump, whirr, bang, thump of the MRI machine would make a good album.
With the MRI, they put you in the microwave for twenty minutes, shoot you up with something, and then microwave you some more.
I was not made especially confident when the nurse-tech pulled me out halfway through the first step and asked if I knew what area they were supposed to be scanning. Um, I would've thought the surgeon communicated that, before they started me cooking.

The evening before they left we went out to eat and do happy birthday at a nice Sardinian joint, and after, parked at the beach to watch the sun set in the gulf. Water temp was 68 which did not stop the girls from stripping most all clothes off and going in to get slapped around by the 2 to 3 foot waves. Sunset was gorgeous.

BREAKING REPORT: Nearly 2,000 migrants at Floyd Bennett field FORCE HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS OUT of James Madison High School in NYC.
Students will be FORCED TO TAKE virtual classes during the displacement..
The administration of Mayor Adams initiated the transfer of close to 2,000 migrants on Tuesday from their current shelter at Floyd Bennett Field to James Madison High School in Midwood, Southern Brooklyn, in response to predictions of severe weather.
This move resulted in many migrants waiting in the rain for school buses for transportation.
PopAccording to Mayor Adams, these migrants will be housed at the high school. Consequently, students of James Madison High School are now scheduled to have their classes online.

There is NO 3rd class of citizenship recognized by any US Law or Court, and never has been. Anyone who receives Citizenship at Birth, by any of the recognized methods, is under the Law considered a Natural Born Citizen. A lot of people may not like that, but that's the Law.

The Constitution says the President must be a "natural born" citizen, while all the other offices just require being a citizen. Unfortunately, the founders didn't specify exactly what the requirements are to be considered "natural born."

This argument went around and around in 2016 about Ted Cruz; it also means born to an American parent on foreign soil. Or fucking John McCain, born on a military base in Panama. I hate defending him, but he qualified as a natural born citizen. The real problem, as was said, is that it was never clearly defined when it was originally used, which has meant that the Courts were allowed to define it.

Probably for all practical purposes; that’s the way the constitution is interpreted now. But there are a lot of people who think children of two non-citizens should also not be a citizen, and even a lot of people who think it’s not the correct interpretation of the constitution. Both have valid arguments; I think the former are correct, and don’t know enough about the latter but the arguments are at least superficially sensible.

That case had nothing to do with being a natural born citizen. The issue rarely comes up because the natural born requirement is about being eligible for the presidency. Courts have refused to address the issue. And not just SCOTUS.

"Birthright Tourism" should be prohibited by law, and those fetchlings specifically barred from U.S. Citizenship, until such time as they pass the Citizenship Test, and raise their right hand and Swear The Oath.
And even then, that same law should put them outside of eligibility for the Presidency, as they're NOT "natural born citizens" by any rational view. (said while admitting the current state of turmoil "given" to us by those damn courts.)

Sorry to hear that, GnuBreed. That hits close to home. A good friend, who I knew since high school, was in that same boat. Denied a liver transplant by the Communist Medical Racket in Canada, he chose "medical assisted suicide" when his quality of life became untenable, a couple of years ago now.

I saw a recommendation that if you don't recognized the number, let it go to voicemail; if it's important, they'll leave a message.
Apparently there are scammers all over the world (West Africa being a big problem area) where they robocall random phone numbers over here to see if there's a live person (they never answer back). Once they have a live number, they'll get info on the darkweb to start their scamming efforts.

Family can be a good thing. My brother and sister have offered to help me with my wife as I get hospice set up for her.
When my brother was taking care of Dad, I'd fly over to take care of Dad for a few days so he could take care of things. And hospice care for Dad was a godsend.

Yes. There would be a "who will watch the watchers" issue, to be sure. You would need to have some privacy advocates involved in planning the effort. Cybercrime (and I include phone spam/scams here) itself is an invasion of privacy.

Ah. Interesting. There is a fairly recent album out, a collaboration between Taj Mahal and Keb Mo', both playing in the Delta style. Well worth a listen. Album is called Taj Mo', IIRC.

Hardly. My wife was playing some Hans Theesink songs and that one came up. I thought he was singing :where the Southern Cross is the Dog" which made me think of constellations. She said, "No, it's "Where the Southern crosses the Dog". So I had to look it up and a webpage with the explanation popped up on a search of just that phrase. My mind has to reconcile things like that.

I saw Keb at the Benaroya in Seattle in 2016. He used an intriguing, at least to me, electric resonator guitar. After the show he did a meet and greet for everybody...it was really great. I asked him about the guitar thinking it was custom made. He goes, (paraphrased), with a smile, "Nah, it isn't some custom thang, it is Chinese I bought online for like $300." I went home more happy than I had been in months.

OMG. I did a Christmas shift selling watches and wampum jewelry at the Macy's in DT Seattle. This section of the store is in contrast to fine jewelry section which was 10 ft from me. I was bored out of my mind 95% of the time so I focused on whatever I could do to entertain myself which was sell their shit like crazy. In my few weeks at Macy's I was on the top 10 sales person list 95% of the time and managed to piss off all the fine jewelry people because I made them look like shitty sales people which they were. Did that do me any good? Not a bit, they still fired my ass immediately after Christmas. Epilogue. Months later, and years later if I recall correctly, I would bump into people all over Seattle that recalled me selling them Christmas shit and how happy they were with what they bought. Fuck, I just might be a gift of humanity too but not in a good way.

Unless you read Vattel's Law Of Nations from which the Framers heavily borrowed in writing the Constitution. 'Natural-born' as defined in Vattel is the definition the Framers intended: A child born of two citizen parents. Now at the time, if two English parents had a child in Holland, that child was not Dutch but English, as the child was subject to the laws of the nation of the parents. The Constitution mentions legal and illegal aliens. It says nothing about birthright citizenship. That's a Dem move and they got away with it. Think of all the new 'citizens' we will have now thanks to Dementia Joe throwing open the borders. There is no way in hell you can tell me that this is anywhere near The Framers' intent when it comes to citizenship.

It nearly went nationwide just before Obama lost to Trump. I can't remember the name of the legislation, but AOC and Nancy Pelosi were big boosters. Maybe it's the PRO Act, not sure.
Anyway, AB 5 is so impractical that there are more exceptions than cases of it. Surprise surprise, the first profession to be exempted from it was film actors. Yes, I mean Hollywood. This legislation is so rife with opportunities for favoritism it's a how-to guide on national disaster.
