Posted by: tubal at January 09, 2024 09:42 AM (PCK5/)

70 As I spend more time these days reading classic kid's books and fairy tales, the illustrations, especially the older or original ones, become more appealing. This is a good example. Comparatively simple drawing but it includes all the elements that go with the scene: the rooster, the girl's patched clothing and inadequate shoes, the garden for food not decoration, the peasant's hut. Any child seeing it will be able to identify the elements from the story which will add to the meaning of the words. Very effective and enjoyable.

102 Rabbits do pass gas or fart because they regularly eat slowly to digest plant-based foods that create gas as they slowly pass through the bunny’s digestive system. That gas must be released in the form of farts for the comfort and health of the bunny.

Rabbits are physically unable to burp, belch, or vomit. They have a number of physical traits that prevent them from pushing gas or food up, instead of it passing all the way through the digestive system. The structure of their stomach is the primary reason that a bunny can’t burp.
A rabbit’s digestive system is a one-way trip.

149 Rep. James Clyburn, an early Biden supporter who propelled him to victory in South Carolina, now says he is ‘very concerned’ with the president’s standing with the black community.

Clyburn was asked on CNN about President Joe Biden’s African American approval ahead of a Biden trip to Clyburn’s home state on Monday.

‘I’m not worried — I’m very concerned,’ the South Carolina Democrat said.

Biden is set to deliver remarks at the historic Mother Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, the site of the 2015 shooting that left nine African Americans killed by a white supremacist.

Clyburn revealed he has sat down with the president to voice his concerns. He added that he has ‘no problem with the Biden administration and what it has done,’ but worries that the White House is not selling its successes to voters.

You would never see that when I was a kid. Those people were holding the brass ring all those comics wanted to grab. Network show and movie deals, writing gigs, etc. were the big prize. Their influence is waning. Actors and screenwriters are still totally beholden to them, but comics seem to be wandering off the plantation. I hope musicians are next.

309 Biden’s re-election campaign has begun organizing a series of off-the-record trips for top political reporters and editors to the team’s headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware and meet senior officials, including the campaign manager, deputies, and other high-ranking advisors for background briefings on campaign strategy.

They’re also using it as an opportunity to tell them what they’re getting wrong. Two people with knowledge of the situation told Semafor that during meetings with reporters from outlets like The New York Times, the Washington Post, and others, campaign officials have invoked a coverage spreadsheet laying out areas where the team believes their reporting has fallen short.

372 But Sen. Mitt Romney of Utah, the 2012 Republican presidential nominee and one of the most vocal GOP critics of Trump, recently panned Biden’s approach, telling the The New York Times that Biden’s democracy push is a “bust.”

“Jan. 6 will be four years old by the election. People have processed it, one way or another,” Romney told the newspaper via text message. “Biden needs fresh material, a new attack, rather than kicking a dead political horse.”

Romney, who voted to convict Trump for incitement of insurrection for his role on Jan. 6 and has warned against the former president’s potential return to the White House, has been critical of the Biden administration at times. But the senator was a key player in crafting the bipartisan infrastructure bill that has become one of Biden’s top domestic policy achievements and has expressed openness to backing the president’s reelection bid.

I wonder how the Govt. found out about those, and is arranging for Epps to not be physically present to be served?

390 The problem is that a large number of Americans have yet to wake up to just how evil our elite class has become. Hence, they keep giving journalists, academics, politicians, and bureaucrats the benefit of the doubt. They are like Charlie Brown, trusting Lucy with the football, and no matter how much we shout our warnings that Americans will fall flat on their backs once again, they keep making the mistake of trusting.

They haven’t reconciled themselves to the fact that the people they have trusted for decades are awful people. Our president is a senile creepy pedophile with a corrupt family who gropes women before our very eyes, but that reality is too awful to acknowledge. Jeffrey Epstein is too awful to contemplate, so they don’t. Alphabet ideology is obviously evil, but people comfort themselves with the idea that sterilizing and mutilating children is “compassionate.”

Nah, they're redefined it - it has a specific use.
The excellent Darren Beattie did a podcast on this 'term of art' "democracy" back in 2020 as he documented the 2020 steal as it was happening. It goes back to Norm Eisen, the government guy who literally wrote the playbook for toppling other governments, who was also behind what happened here in 2020. Beattie said their use of "democracy" was a tell, and when you would see it used in coverage of happenings in other countries (e.g. Ukraine 2014) it indicated which side the US govt was backing I likely involvement behind the scenes.
