Say the medium income in US is 60k and the taxes to spend 60k are 25% or 15k.
You get a check every month for 1250.
Eliminates all filing for individuals.

210 My brothers and I were all towheads in the 60s::

In colonial times, families grew their own flax to make into fabric for clothing. Transforming the flax into thread was a complicated, involved process with many time-consuming steps. After the flax was harvested, it was soaked in water for several days to soften it so the inner fibers could be removed from the stalk. To separate the long, thin fibers from the shorter, coarser ones, the flax was pulled through a bed of nails or combed in a process called “towing.” The shorter fibers that were extricated were of a lesser quality and were called “tow.” This led to the term “towheads” to describe people, particularly children, whose hair resembled these strands. -- Urban Dictionary

I remember when his attacks on DeSantis were going to turn everyone against him.

Seriously, most of this stuff people never hear about, and there's so much news and so many other priorities that precious few people latch onto any of this crap and make it an issue.

Throw in the fact that Trump's been doing this since 2015, and you've got this tired refrain of, "This time, Trump's killed his chances," all while we find out that nearly 200,000 ballots in GA were fake in 2020.

Trump's attacks on his Republican opponents isn't what is going to keep him from the presidency. The states that cheated in 2020 and 2022 continuing on to do it in 2024 is.

But the problem -- like with pretty much all "scholarship" nowadays -- is that anyyone who does the analysis will come to the conclusion that whatever he thought to begin with was right all along. Nikki Haley, Surging, Is Still Way Behind Trump...armed with tens of millions in donor money, she appears to be leaving Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, and his New Right adherents, in the dust. With Iowa GOP voters caucusing for their choice in just eight days Haley’s run is well-timed. But it still leaves her shockingly far behind former president Donald Trump.

In New Hampshire, she is only behind by about 13 percent. Haley hopes to grab liberal voters to make up the gap in the Grantine State and has even joked New Hampshire will “correct” Iowa.

Haley’s surge has still provoked Trump’s ire. The former president has begun complaining Haley “sold me out” by running for president. Trump’s campaign and his super-PAC have also spent millions attacking Haley in New Hampshire, portraying her as weak on immigration and a danger to the country...Unless something radically changes, this could be the peak of the Haley versus Trump fight. And it looks pretty tame.

While this is something I hate about our (NH) voting, she has a valid strategy here. The DNC is working hard to delegitimize the NH primary because they wanted SC to go first. Nope, all the Founders were technically not natural born Americans due to being ruled by England. Natural born citizen is in the 14th Amendment as part of the overturning of Dred Scott v Sandford. Part of that horrendous decision had even free blacks not considered citizens of the United States as Taney purposefully misread the Declaration of Independence to only include whites.

Jus soli was more or less adopted from the UK but even there sojourners were not necessarily treated as subject to the crown. That is why the limiting 14th phrase of "subject to the jurisdiction thereof" limits the application of jus soli.

Anchor baby - yes. That's exactly what an anchor baby is. An anchor.

Anchor baby is a term used to refer to a child born to non-citizen parents in a country that has birthright citizenship which will therefore help the parents and other family members gain legal residency. In the U.S., the term is generally used as a derogatory reference to the supposed role of the child, who automatically qualifies as an American citizen under jus soli and the rights guaranteed in the Fourteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. The term is also often used in the context of the debate over illegal immigration to the United States.

However, the Pentagon only revealed what happened yesterday after days of speculation and criticism.

Doocy grilled National Security Council Coordinator for Strategic Communications John Kirby on the issue during a press conference, demanding to know, “Why should we believe anything this administration tells us about anything ever again?”

Kirby acknowledged the Pentagon had faced a “challenge to credibility” by failing to quickly reveal the details of Austin’s treatment.

Doocy shot back by asking, “If the administration’s going to go to such great lengths to keep secrets about the defense secretary’s health, how can anybody be certain that the administration would not go to the same lengths to keep secret problems with President Biden’s health in the future?”

Kirby began another ramble which suggested he wasn’t going to directly answer the question, to which Doocy responded, “He’s 81-years-old.”

Vic, jus soli is a British doctrine derived over centuries of common law over there. The Wong Ark Kim case dealt with deportation upon reentry and citizenship only incidentally. Arguably it is obiter dicta but nevertheless is actually contrary to the original intent of the 14th natural born clause which was to make sure that blacks were treated as citizens of the US by the states (overturning Dred Scott v Sanford precedent). Dred Scott was so bad that it took three constitutional amendments to stomp on it. The 13th through the 15th were specifically designed to end state and federal attempts to deny citizenship to blacks.

It was not intended as allowing sojourners (such as travelers. etc.) which was contrary to British common law at the time anyway.

Of course, we know what this is really about. Team Biden and the DNC demand absolute loyalty to Biden, so any vote against him — whether it's for a Democratic challenger or a Republican — is illegitimate and "meaningless." ASK FACT CHECK
John McCain’s Presidential Eligibility
By Justin BankPosted on February 25, 2008 | Updated on June 16, 2008

Q: How can Panamanian-born McCain be elected president?
A: Though born abroad, he is considered a natural-born U.S. citizen.

FULL QUESTION:
I understand John McCain was born in Panama. Doesn’t that make him ineligible to be president? I thought the Constitution said you had to have been born in a state.

FULL ANSWER:

John McCain’s father was an admiral in the U.S. Navy who was stationed in Panama in 1936, when McCain was born. This has led to speculation as to whether McCain is a U.S. citizen and whether he can be elected president, a question that was raised during McCain’s run for the Republican nomination in 2000 as well.

Sec. 1, Article II of the U.S. Constitution states:
Art. II: “No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the US.

Hamilton was considered eligible. The reason he did not run for prezzie is that the financial scandal where he was screwing the wife of an investor in government securities while being Sec. of Treasury.

Pretty much gave Adams the nomination for Prezzie when Washington retired. Then you had Adams run for reelection with Jefferson winning. The shriveled and dying Federalist party was no longer a potent threat to elect a president which probably led to Hamilton's agreement to the famous duel with Burr in 1804 before the election.

Hamilton's political power base no longer existed at that point.

350 FULL ANSWER:

Laura Scudder's Nutty Peanut Butter is excellent.

Very peanut and is crunchy-style, which is what all true Americans eat.

That smooth stuff is teh ghey.

The only downside- it's basically just peanut so you initially have to stir it up to mix in the oil to get it spreadable.

356 The reason I stopped buying PB is they can't figure out how to make a decent, spreadable version without adding tons of sugar.

If you have a food grinder (I use a Kitchen-Aid attachment) you can use it to make great peanut butter. No special peanuts, just whatever you like best.

I suspect a blender would also do nicely.

I sometimes add peanut oil, depending on how oily the peanuts are. I usually use salted peanuts, so don’t add any salt. Never occurred to me to add sugar.

367 Art.

----------
You need to look to the 14th as the legal rule is that later amendments alter the understanding of the original Constitution. The tradition in the US is to have the amendments posted separately rather than inline with strikeouts, etc. and new words from the amendment added, struck out, or changed. So the 14th amendment and the Article I and II are interpreted as congruent to each other.

Pretty much under the original understanding, Congress had plenary power to define under its Article I powers who was a citizen and who was not subject to the limitation. That is because jus soli never actually appears in the document but was considered a matter of continuing British Common law on the subject which can be altered by a simple statute. See Gibbons v. Ogden for how broadly to interpret federal powers.
