My cancer team tells me that, based on my blood tests today and the fact that I'm four years stable, I should get to ring the bell next year.

These scans and tests every six months are nerve wracking. With the good Lord's assistance, I look forward to putting this all behind me next January.

79 That whole Stanley thing is stupid. They keep calling it a "tumbler" that he got her. He did NOT. He got her a Samuel L Jackson THERMOS. I can't even abide someone trying to get moralistic ("Typically, I would sympathize with the gift receiver's pain in this situation.") when they can't even use the right descriptive words for things.

As to the "error" in gift giving? Maybe if she had specified a "tumbler" I could have some sympathy. But she asked for a "big Stanley" and I will bet (without reading further) that thermos is called a "Big Stanley."

She's lucky she got a liquid container at all. He could have just tied a bow around his hoo-hah and slapped her in the face with it. "Here's your big Stanley, baby!"

Several years ago there was a similar incident where one child killed another. The mother of the murderer was a heroin addict. f**ked up parents raise f**ked up kids. I should say "a f**ked up parent" because, of course the junkie wasn't married and was living in subsidized housing. We now have reports every little while of gun shots at the local high school. Liberals want to believe that we are going to solve these problems with gun control.

There are 50 states (duh), and UT is one of the easiest states to qualify for the ballot.

AFAIK, RFK, Jr does not have big donors who are willing to finance an army of paid petition circulators. Political parties do this for their own candidates. RFK, Jr. doesn't have a political party, either-- not even a Green Party.

So, 17% (or so) of all voters plan to vote for RFK, Jr., or so they're telling pollsters. But in the vast majority of states, they're very unlikely to ever have the chance.

This is something to bear in mind when you read all those "3-way" polls.

That 17% who say they're for RFK, Jr. ? They're up for grabs. They just don't know it yet.

This kind of puts Trump's 2-3 point lead in perspective.

Saw him perform live many years ago in the then brand-new Jack Singer Concert Hall in the Calgary Centre for the Performing Arts. A friend had wangled us front-row center tickets. So the good Doctor was on the stage with a white grand piano about a dozen feet away.

Well...the sound system went out, died 100%. John came to the edge of the stage, and said to the crowd (the hall was full), "You folks have a choice. You can get a rain check for a future date, at some unknown time to come, or you can take your chances on hearing me play acoustic. They tell me this hall was designed to have really great acoustics. A or B, your choice." Well, applause from the crowd clearly favored B. So he sat down at the piano, and he played and sang and smiled a great huge smile for two solid hours. It was friggin' awesome. He was a very accomplished piano player.

Morrison had a look and an image and odd lyrics..the rest of them did two further albums and they basically came out like CCR without Fogerty. Before Jim croaked they had an artistic AND commercial string of success in several different variations. Why did they suddenly lose that ability completely? Weird.

Make it a team effort: flat deck trailer, big enough to hold an open-top trash bin and a zoom-boom forklift. Also a water tanker with a large pump. Staged, and on call. Car fire happens, the flatbed and tanker head to the scene, Forklift offloads, picks up burning car, and drops it into bin. Tanker starts water flowing. When the car is fully submerged, pumps get shut off, forklift is stowed, and flatbed departs, traveling slowly with tanker following.

I'd planned a turn up the U.P., but their governor had the state throttled down, so we left an event at Edsel Ford House on Lake Saint Clair and just motored around the thumb, hit a lot of old time tourist bar and grilles at the end of the season, and spent the night in Bay City to tour USS Edson. Not a bad town for a day trip; hotel decent and cheap, old-school restaurants, not a big city deal. I liked it.
