I bet the Horde will have all the answers. Why do Tesla drivers have the highest crash rate. Just days after Tesla was forced to recall nearly every car it ever made over safety issues involving its Autopilot system, a new report alleges that Tesla has the highest accident rate of any automotive brand. LendingTree, the auto loan and mortgage giant, didn't go any further into its analysis other than to look at crash numbers. The report doesn't explain why Teslas crashed at a higher rate than any other brand, only that it does. According to LendingTree, between Nov. 14, 2022, and Nov. 14, 2023, there were 23.54 Tesla accidents per 1,000 drivers. Only two other brands had more than 20 accidents per 1,000 drivers, Ram (22.76) and Subaru (20.90). That accident rate also helped it earn the second-highest incident rate, 31.13, behind only Ram (32.90). The difference between accident rate and incident rate is that the latter also factors DUIs, speeding, and any other citations. It's a Genius Award move, amirite? I've had shoulder pain on my right side for a few years now. I have had different theories. For a long time I thought it had to do with how I'm sleeping, but I can't tell any difference in how I sleep on one side vs the other.
I can get some relief by doing a stretch where I put my right arm horizontally across my lower back, reach over my head with my left arm, and pull my head sideways from the top over to the left. Today I was doing this. I saw myself in the mirror and had an Ah Ha moment. I could see muscle fibers straining near my shoulder on my upper chest near where my chemo port used to be. That's a very human response -- we want to know why, and then why didn't we know, and why didn't we do something sooner.

Today, on my odyssey of Home Heating Work, I went to the home center at some ungodly hour to get an early start where some very nice old lady clerk seemed upset I wasn't in the Holiday Spirit. I was like Why the FUCK would I be in the Holiday Spirit when I'm clearly buying a bunch of parts to go have a horrible day working on a 24v heating system in December?! No, I'm not going to sing Jingle Bells while stripping wires and getting soaked when compression fittings turn out to be defective.
Then some BroTruck Road Rager tailgated me on the way back, beating on his steering wheel and screaming, until he pulled off into the gravel lot for a trail head and did furious donuts with his 4x4 Silverado extended cab. Then he got behind me AGAIN! This is the asscrack of daylight! WTF. I actually took my gun out of the console at the first stoplight. 171 It's sounding like Israel is gonna do another ceasefire deal to get some more hostages freed.
How many undiscovered tunnels does hamas have, in which to conduct whatever regrouping they'll do in this one? Posted by: Mr Gaga at December 19, 2023 10:43 PM (KiBMU) Don't believe it. The Biden administration keeps trying to float these rumors thinking they can shame Israel into doing it; but it fails. In real world news, Hamas has just said that there will be NO ceasefire or negotiations until Israel unilaterally halts its operations. This is a ridiculous demand, and guarantees that this is now a fight to the death, with no quarter given. Having said that, Israel is close to securing the entire area. Khan Younis is almost completely reduced; Jabaliyah is now under complete IDF control, and Rafah is the last Hamas stronghold left. At some point the fighting will end, because Israel will have run out of targets. Posted by: Tom Servo at December 19, 2023 10:47 PM (S6gqv) 186

This is easy, it is because minorities, especially aians and Indians and women are a disproportionate percentage of tesla drivers. The interview with Ahmad Kahlot, director of Kamal Adwan Hospital and linked up top, is incredibly significant, both in what it reveals about the past and also about what must be done. He does not just give the opinion that Hamas leadership abandoned them; more importantly he reveals that as head of the Hospital he held rank as a senior Hamas Commander, and that about 16 hospital staffers, including doctors, nurses, paramedics and clerks, were also members of Hamas’ notorious military wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades.
Every hospital in Gaza is the same - every hospital in Gaza is in fact a Hamas military installation. Which is why every hospital - and every school - and every mosque - and every clinic - and every UNRWA installation - in Gaza has to be destroyed, completely. And Israel is well on its way to accomplishing that. Posted by: Tom Servo at December 19, 2023 10:59 PM (S6gqv) 223

No wonder Biden's losing:
Backstory: I read this at the Daily Caller, & I thought it seemed improbable. So I fact checked it against a govt Bureau of Statistics website. The Daily Caller had it right. It's NOT bogus! Since 2020, the total amount of Americans' savings has declined from $6 trillion to less than $1 trillion. Some of this incredible decline can be explained by "excessive savings due to the COVID lockdown," & by the stimulus checks arriving for over a year when there wasn't much to spend it on. But consider: an average American family which had $100k in savings in 2020 now has $16000. Again, that's on average. Most of that decline is because Americans are being forced to deplete their savings in order to pay their regular living expenses. Obviously, this affects the least affluent households the most. I'm not an economist, but I don't think you have to be one to understand the significance of what's happening. Posted by: mnw at December 19, 2023 11:25 PM (NLIak) 281

I know that they have to completely rebuild the engine, between each and every run. The spark plugs are burned away to *nothing* in the first 100 ft. of the run, and the engine is self-igniting from residual heat, after that. The pistons are half-melted. Do the connecting rods even survive? Any surviving parts in the cylinder heads, at all? 20,000 hp BOMB going off, is what they are. The original Shelby Cobra 289 *felt* fastest but that is subjective. Honestly the most interesting is the car I need to off very soon as it's at its life transition, the Saab 9-5 2.3 Turbo which for its year beat the the Porsche 911 past 50km/h. I can attest this is true: it's not much off the line but use the paddle shifters past 50 and it's a rocket. And it's sedate.
It just keeps accelerating, it's quite unusual. It's a steady acceleration and fools you. You look down at you're doing 120mph and still climbing with no discernible effort. I find this machine very interesting, and I can see why it has a certain following. It's narrow for its length and tracks extremely well, and for balls-out high speed over long periods it's very, very hard to beat. Top end is maybe 170mph but it handles easily at 150 or so. Very much a sleeper for certain applications. Posted by: LenNeal at December 19, 2023 11:47 PM (/BBNv) 320

Well, you learn something everday. Mean effective pressure, MEP, is displacement independent way of expressing torque, kind of a specific torque value. Its dimension is indeed pressure, force over area, or torque over volume. This value for typical automotive engines is 200 - 400 psi. Diesels are on the high end. The value for the very short fuse top fuel engines is around 1500 psi. Posted by: publius, Rascally Mr. Miley (Mzdiz) at December 19, 2023 11:52 PM (Mzdiz) 326

I think it was just a couple months back, that the first ever quarter mile, +400mph Trap Speed was recorded, by a Top Fuel Dragster.
Posted by: Jim 402mph by a rocket-propelled car is what DDG tells me. The Guinness record is 338.94 mph in a top fuel dragster, set by Brittany Force in 2022. Strangely, a mere NHRA "funny car" got to 339.87 mph, also according to Guinness. Though it was still a slower run overall than the dragster record, 3.793s to 3.641s. And NHRA dragsters and funny cars haven't done quarter-miles in over a decade; they shortened it to an even 1000 feet for "safety," after Scott Kalitta was killed in a crash in 2008. I "restored" a Mini Maglite this evening. Some forgotten piece of oilfield swag. The batteries had corroded and swelled inside the case. Drilled them out with a suitable bit in the drill press. Rinsed the tube out with hot water. Put in two new AAA alkaline batteries, no light. Determined that the contact point for the + tip on the front battery had gone away. Took the plastic insulator plug out, soldered a piece of wire to the + side of the bulb socket, and doubled it over in the groove of the plug. It now works fine. Not real bright, but casts useful light in a dark room. I have a 3 D-cell LED Maglite that I will tote in the 'burb with me. Heavy enough to use as a club, and casts a good light, too.

Liberals know that their attacks on any industry, even if they prove illegal, will work to achieve their goal in the US and to destroy US companies.
They put in rules that companies either need to alter their whole business to meet, or just shut down. Now even if what they did is ruled illegal, or a new President comes in to power, those companies can't afford to return to their old model, and those that closed won't risk reopening, just to have liberals impose new rules 4 years later that shut them down again. Basically all conservatives can ever do is put a small roadblock to stop the liberals socialist agenda, unless they can destroy them as a party for good. All I'll say about the Moon Landing hoax crap, is that it is just that. The joke about about shooting on location to make it look as real as possible is dead on. When you look at all the little details that were captured on film and TV footage, it could not have been faked with the technology available at the time. Even today, doing that with CGI, well, it would be obvious. I've read and heard discussions of that among CGI and SFX people. Our untrained eyes might think a modern CGI/SFX production was very good, but they would easily spot the difference.
This morning I head out to my mechanic's shop for at the least an oil change, and -- if I like the Rial wheels I ordered, and his balancing machine is repaired -- have them installed. If I don't like 'em, they go back, and I'll have my tires rotated. If I do like 'em, and his machine is still out, then I have other plans to make.
Tomorrow I meet with the pension guy to confirm what I see online about my future income beyond SS. Maybe he'll have some advice about who I can call to ask about Medicare Advantage plans vs. individual dental, drug, and vision plans. You have the opportunity to change things during Open Enrollment each year. Easy Peasy. Posted by: JQ at December 20, 2023 *** Yes, I am pretty healthy; BP meds are my only Rx, and I'm hoping my diet changes will handle the elevated A1C I had three months ago. The AMAC advisor tells me I can sign up for an MA plan, Parts C and D, as soon as my Medicare Part B kicks in. There are plenty of insurers offering $0 premium plans and $20/month plans. The same is true of S Indiana and NW Kentucky, which I'm thinking about moving to -- just fewer plans. Evansville and Owensboro are smaller towns, so that makes sense. I'll ask some local vision places and dentists if they accept MA plans. As far as I've researched, they can't turn you down if they accept Medicare itself.
