Scientists Warn Of Toilets Emitting Invisible 'Plume' With Deadly Bacteria The idea of an outhouse seems pretty uncomfortable - having to leave your home just to go to the bathroom, sometimes in the freezing cold or pouring rain, but it turns out that outhouses might be safer than the toilets in modern bathrooms. That's because when you flush your toilet, according to scientists, you are releasing a "toilet plume" filled with germs and bacteria like Legionella, noroviruses and E. coli - some of which can be deadly. Researchers at the University of Colorado Boulder were able to use lasers to illustrate how it and they published what they discovered in Scientific Reports. Speaking about those discoveries, lead author John Crimaldi stated, "People have known that toilets emit aerosols, but they haven’t been able to see them. We show that this thing is a much more energetic and rapidly spreading plume than even the people who knew about this understood." Top 10 commenters: 1 [515 comments] 'Joe Mannix (Not a cop!)' I have an idea for a movie. A "reverse Lifetime" movie.
A super hot princess inherits her father's platinum-rich city-state when he died of aggressive, fast-onset monkeypox after a visit from the American ambassador. But she can only have the platinum throne of Platinumia after she is betrothed. She refuses to be constrained by ancient tradition and flies to Monaco to be crowned Miss Universe instead, but her G5 gets lost by thousands of miles, and crashes in North Dakota after the female pilot runs out of fuel. There, she's rescued by a schlubby dude out hunting with his buddies, and she falls in love. They agree to get married, but at the last minute, he leaves her at the altar, telling her she's just not hot or rich enough for him, and he doesn't want her trying to make him learn about different forks and things, because his only fork has always been good enough for him. At the end, she tracks him down at a topless bar/casino and interrupts his lap-dance to apologize for not being good enough, and he finally relents, as long as she moves the Royal Court of Platinumia to Minot, ND so he never has to change. She agrees, and they live happily after. Fin. Posted by: Yudhishthira Florian Maria Hohenzollern von Schloengishugen, Liechtensteinian Usurper at December 18, 2023 10:41 PM (0FoWg) 149

What Pope Frankie did to piss me off today was to push Hamas propaganda about 2 women who were shot at Holy Family Church in the war zone. First, facts - two Christian women were shot by a sniper at the Holy Family Church; the sniper was not seen, not caught, not identified. Hamas *instantly* claimed it was an Israeli who did it, with no evidence, and Pope Frankie instantly broadcast that claim to the world.
Meanwhile, the IDF announced that an investigation showed that they had *no* operations in the area, no troops in the area, and also pointed out that they do not send out snipers to randomly assasinate women for no reason. It certainly looks like a Hamas shooter did it with the full intention of creating an "incident" that all of their followers - like Frankie - would jump on and broadcast. But, if you hate Jews you'll never believe that. Posted by: Tom Servo at December 18, 2023 10:45 PM (S6gqv) 159

He should have a task force right now going though all the EOs, agency guidance letters, etc. to make a list of what gets rescinded on Day One. He should also have volumes of regulations targeted, in order to give the Federal Register notice that they'll be withdrawn and opportunity for the public to comment where applicable. He should have a not very short list of his Cabinet and sub-Cabinet appointments ready to go to the Senate, and just as importantly, a list for the appointments that don't require Senate confirmation so they can get the background checks started. This guy built a chrome-moly tube frame, and played with the springs and geometry for a very long time, eventually coming up with a spritely little runabout. Having used plenty of outhouses in my life, one at a family place and the others on Scout camping trips, spiders and snakes are things to be fully aware of when using any outhouse 'facilities'. Since I was in colder climes, not too many lizards, but them too in more southern environs. Some can do more damage than others but they all have some form of "biting". The toilet plume is one of those wise-guy factoids that bored feature writers recycle every few years to collect their clicks. In the 70's, it was all about how filthy your toothbrush bristles were from being in the same room with a toilet. Sure, it's..kind of...a thing. Toilets were, after all, meant to be closed before flushing. But most toilets are in little roomlets, with a stub wall or enclosure between the device and the other bathroom functions.
The same people who are all lit up about this want your next bathroom equipment to be a composter, or a non-flushing urinal that's about the same as peeing through a hole in the wall. Ask them about the germ count around those. Make a note of the date. After a brief flurry, things will quiet down, and then when this group of activists have moved on, another one will save you yet again. Had some jackass spouting off that it was all our fault while the Towers crumbled. And that was 22 years ago. Look at all the crap that's transpired since. It's bleak, these times that try men's souls.
The first thing that had to happen for DEI to die was an acknowledgment that it even existed. I don't want to belabor the point but we are not a representative view of American society. Most people had no idea how perverse this garbage was before the Bud Lite stuff. Hell, most people still don't know BLM was not a civil rights movement, it was a marxist political movement. Even the leftwing Boston Globe is after Harvard now. And then we needed someone with enough balls to stand up to what is happening and take the unbelievable amount of heat that comes with saying exactly what is happening and not back down. Someday people will look back on Trump emerging and creating a movement as a turning point. We are finally just beginning to fight back. We are going to lose a lot more battles before we win but we will eventually win. Freedom always beats commies. Posted by: JackStraw at December 19, 2023 12:33 AM (ZLI7S) 333

Posted by: the results kinda matter at December 19, 2023 02:02 AM (pjs7m) ---- What the fuck is racial justice. Try saying that during a fight between Xhosas and Zulus. Nope, it's way worse. Most rapes in the world. Murder rate is sky high. Unsolved murder rate is sky high. Under the White Gov. 85%+ of murders were solved. I lived there 25 years. If I were there NOW I would need to live in a gated community. Car jacking - they wait by your house for you to come home. Unemployment is worse. Try walking in a city's downtown after sundown. Now, we did that all the time before 1994. The affluent Blacks have done well but that is a small portion of the population. Finally just look at the country's power grid: brownouts and blackouts are the norm. When I lived there we didn't experience that, just once in a blue moon there would be a transformer failure or someone dug up lines. They have embraced AGW. Who got paid off? You are badly misguided. Have only used an outhouse once. I had an aunt and uncle living in an old farm house. It had a modern bathroom, but out the back door was an outhouse. A two hole, with just a creaky door. Not at all comfortable, and you always looked down one of the holes to see what was there. Why I don't know, but the smell wasn't that bad because the building had lots of ventilation. A roll of toilet paper or newspaper to read or wipe.

Why I don't know, but the smell wasn't that bad because the building had lots of ventilation. A roll of toilet paper or newspaper to read or wipe. My father's parents' wilderness dwelling was all outhouse, all the time. There was a smallish crock of lime with a scoop in the corner by the door with which you were expected to cover, lightly, your contribution to the pile(s) -- it, too, was a two seater. The lime definitely suppressed the odor. There was a story that this was the "new" outhouse because my Dad had burned down the old one through his careless smoking of a cigarette in it. His punishment was to build the replacement (he was in his teens at the time).
