It's Canada, So He Was Also Charged With Practicing Medicine Without A License Canadian Man Charged With 14 Counts of Murder for Mailing Poison to Young People, Helping Them Kill Themselves Now, a Canadian man who helped more than a dozen people in Ontario to kill themselves – by mailing them poison – has been charged with 14 counts of second-degree murder. The decline and fall of Western Civilization is turning out to be a lot less fun than I had hoped. This Sounds Like The Plot To A Movie Doctor who murdered French girl is freed 11 years after her father kidnapped him in Germany and smuggled him across border to stand trial A German investigation in 1987 had found there was not enough evidence to charge Krombach of the murder of Kalinka, who was found dead in her bed during the summer holidays of 1982. But the doctor's credibility was damaged when in 1997 he was found guilty of drugging and raping a 16-year-old patient, emboldening Kalinka's biological father, Andre Bamberski, in his campaign to see Krombach arrested. Frustrated with Germany's refusal to hand Krombach over, Bamberski hired a kidnap team to snatch the doctor from his home in Scheidegg, Bavaria, bundle him into a blacked-out limousine and bring him to France. The doctor was left, bound and gagged, near a courthouse in the border town of Mulhouse, and later put on trial.Good for him. Andre Bamberski was charged with kidnapping and given a one year sentence, suspended. I'm kinda surprised he got off so easily. Here's a picture of him from 2008, when he ran for president against Barack Obama. ![]() Away Down South In China More Than Half a Million Uighurs Forced to Pick Cotton in China Not a lot to say here, we all know China uses its minorities for slave labor, but I did a double take when I saw the headline due to the similarity between the name of the Chinese ethnic group and a well known slur for the folks here in the US who picked cotton 160 years ago, so much so that I wonder if they worded it that way on purpose. I can't read anything from the MSM anymore without being suspicious that it's part of the left's ongoing effort to divide the people of the US against each other. In The Arms Of An Angel

The partnership with Doritos—the most popular savory snack among Gen Z and the 8th-ranked brand overall—is the most commercial offering from Empirical Spirits, a Copenhagen-based distillery. The limited release of the beverage, available at doritos.x.empirical.co and at to-be-announced locations in New York and California, will go for $65 for a 750 millileter bottle. (The companies did not disclose the number of bottles they’re releasing.) “We’re doing more disruptive partnerships,” says Courtney Larson, Dorito’s senior director of marketing. “When one of the most innovative flavor leaders in the world reaches out to you, you take notice.”Yeah. Meathead Rob Reiner is deluded about 'Christian nationalism' And what of Reiner’s experts, the progressive academics featured so prominently in his trailer? The examples of Christian Nationalism some of them offer are so broad that even the late Queen Elizabeth had a brush with it. The way historian Kristin Kobes Du Mez uses the term is elastic enough to encompass Billy Graham, who she accuses in her book, “Jesus and John Wayne,” of “wedding patriarchal gender roles to a rising Christian nationalism.” The inescapable conclusion is that average Christian beliefs and average Christian engagement in the public sphere is exactly what Reiner and his abettors hope to target. They want to shame followers of Jesus from taking part in the very same political activities their secular counterparts do and convince everyone else that there’s something uniquely insidious when they do. To my fellow believers tempted to buckle under this derision, I’ll remind them of the counsel of 2 Timothy 1:7--God has not given his children a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. And we should never let a smear campaign convince us to stop using them.“Christian Nationalism” is the left's newest boogieman. “Racist”, “homophobe” and other slurs have become meaningless through overuse, so this is the slur du jour for anyone who believes in or supports traditional western values. If this country was really teeming with “Christian Nationalists”, Rob, believe me, you'd know. There are hundreds of millions of us, and we tend to be heavily armed. Now, everyone please rise, turn to page 35 of your hymnals, and join together in lifting up your voices to the Lord.* This City Sucks Urban crime, and why city dwellers don’t seem to (really) care This is actually a rational and reasoned discussion about the issue from a conservative who chooses urban life. However, our argument can't be, "You live in a nightmarish dumpster fire, vote the bums out." Because if you try to tell people something that they can plainly see with their own eyes is not true, you will get nowhere with them, certainly not on the subject of crime, and probably not on any other either. Conservatives didn't fall for that during Covid or the BLM riots. Urban progressives won't fall for it now, not until it becomes truly dystopian, which is not a place we want to go. I don't believe our cities, most anyway, are in inevitable death spirals now anymore than they were during the last time crime was this bad. Figgy pudding or fig pudding is any of several medieval Christmas dishes, usually sweet or savory cakes containing honey, fruits and nuts. In later times, rum or other distilled alcohol was often added to enrich the fruitiness of the flavor.

IIRC the basic plot line of Far Cry 5 is that the player is a feeb who gets sent to take down a Christian-nationalist sort who's predicting the end of the world, but gets sucked into that world and its warring factions. And eventually the bombs fall, proving the guy right.
A big part of the Far Cry formula is that the antagonist is charismatic, believable, and not entirely a bad guy in a morally ambiguous world. And they usually offer the player a self-aware, nonstandard game over in the opening scene(s) by acting civil toward the said antagonist, at which point they part ways with a suggestion to maybe shoot more guns next time. They have been forced to *all* realize that this is now a *real* war for their very survival, and suddenly everyone inside Israel has gotten that razor sharp edge back, one which had been missing for a long time. And this includes telling *everyone* who wants them to back off, including Biden, Blinken, and the entire UN, to just Fuck Right Off. and that's what we're all going to have to get used to doing as well. One of the reasons crime is "down " cops s aren't arresting as many, DAs are undercharging, teen crimes are being handled in family courts so their crimes don't always show up in stats , and prison is not being utilized like it should be. Anyway, I'm sitting here doing shit, installing stuff, and I think a hard drive must be failing. I hear reset sounding clicking. Urban crime, and why city dwellers don’t seem to (really) care
This is actually a rational and reasoned discussion about the issue from a conservative who chooses urban life." The problem, and what those who defend just living with it don't (or won't) understand, is that what is happening is that these cities are descending into 3rd world norms. In all of the great cities of the 3rd world, there are parts where the wealthy live and shop and are perfectly happy with their lives - but in other parts of those cities, there will be hillsides where 30,000 people live in cardboard boxes. (I've seen one of those) The important point is that it is *impossible* for a democratic (small d) civil society to survive in such circumstances. The choices devolve into cartels, dictatorship, or chaos. That's the price of letting society slide out of control. Posted by: Tom Servo at December 14, 2023 10:42 PM (S6gqv) 101

I'm learning shit I ashamedly did not know 'bout weather. Temperature here is about 33F, and dew point is 24F or so. Yet frost is nicely forming all over the ground right now. I asked my cousin, the re-tard meteorologist to 'splain. This I did not know. The practical "frost point" is always higher than dew point. It will be in between dew point and dry bulb temperature. The reason is basically, the vapor pressure of ice at a given temperature is less than over supercooled liquid water at the same temperature. In this regime of conditions, ice crystal formation is heavily favored over condensation to a liquid. This deeply confuses me. "Christian Nationalism" means nothing in the West. (There's a Catholic Church and different Protestant denominations, few of which are organized on specific national lines.)
- Read the Declaration of Independence and ignore all the dissembling about "deists" and remember that the Christians who were citizens of America at the time agreed to it. Probably the most important part of that is understanding that since men are wicked, governments tend toward wickedness and therefore must be constrained, and we citizens have the primary responsibility to do so. Also, we are far more likely to live the lives we were created for if left to our own devices than if the fiends of government make our decisions for us, since they will always be primarily, and usually exclusively, interested in what is most convenient to them. The point is to apply the principles taught in Scripture that we agree on, not make one denomination or other rulers, since none of us would ever agree to that. John Facenda may be the best narrator ever and only football could give him the stage to shine like he did. Nothing against the other sports qua sports, but football is war and in war, great men rise to the challenge. It would be funny to hear a Facenda impression doing baseball or basketball. Hockey is real war too but doesn't lend itself to Facenda-type narration.

Sorry about your friend. Things have gotten worse as the medical/healing profession has been swallowed up by the government healthcare industrial complex. And it's only going to get worse as standards drop and more foreign-trained doctors are brought in to make up for the ever-growing physician shortage, nurse practitioners provide the overwhelming majority of primary care, the government continues its long-standing fuckery, and private equity gobbles up more providers to wring the last dollars out of them to put in hedge fund managers' pockets.

Suddenly, all cars stopped on Boulder Hwy; get out and see motorcycle on ground. Brother hit a car turning onto hwy with NO LIGHTS on at low speed, hit its rear end and went flying over it, doing an Evel Knievel landing (a la Caesar's Palace). I run up and he's in shock w/multiple broken bones in arms & legs. Fortunately, he lived & recovered. The catch? He always rode without a helmet, but Nevada had recently passed a helmet law. There is no "nudging" the people who vote for this, and yes, our cities are in a death spiral. Fuck that noise, fuck tolerating barbarism, and fuck everyone who enables it. This isn't the 80's. MiniTool Partition Wizard. Which was pretty good at the time. I also Paragon Disk Managers as well. Some of those are pretty old, but I don't think they did lifetime upgrade claims. Paragon makes a Linux Ext file system driver for Windows, and I've got a bought and paid version of that. That's what got me looking at the partition tools I have. The license for the Linux driver was for another machine, and I'm looking if it's worth it to try to transfer, or just use the free version (which will throttle large file transfers) or buy a new one. MiniTool has nice software .... but .... I used their free youTube downloader for a long while. It would do multiple files at once, at whatever speed was available (no throttling) and no limitations on files per day. Last update? It is no longer available as a stand-alone product and its functions are now incorporated in the editor; speed throttled and only 5 downloads per day. No good. The Gihsoft product is nicer to use, handles other sites such as Twitter, etc.
Paragon was nice. I had a pro license at work. Haven't used in a long while and my old version probably doesn't work with the new boot format. Posted by: Ciampino - I'm writing a book. I've got the page numbers done. at December 15, 2023 01:55 AM (qfLjt) 326

If it can handle GPT format, it can handle this. I know I've used this Paragon hard disk manager I have as well as the MiniTool to mess around with GPT disks. I've got several of them on this system. I didn't like the EFI system partition Windows will create by default -- too small -- and I was able to create a bigger one, and get it booting properly. I have 5 internal hard drives on this machine, and I like to make them all bootable, so if the master boot gets corrupted on one, I can just go into the BIOS/UEFI and boot from another one. Those tools allowed me to set all that easily. Posted by: publius, Rascally Mr. Miley (Mzdiz) at December 15, 2023 02:04 AM (Mzdiz) Posted by: Skip at December 15, 2023 02:04 AM (fwDg9) 336

Oh, BTW, Windows 11 will still install to a regular MBR disk, that I know, because that's what I did here. A MBR boot, using "compatibility mode" with the UEFI "bios" on this machine. There is a nice tool, "Rufus", a USB stick burner, that can modify USB Windows install sticks to do this. It will turn off a lot of the requirements by injecting stuff into the image registry files. It turned off the TPM requirement, as well as setting up a regular local user account from the get-got, bypassing the crap where MS tries to force you to use an online MS account. There is a trick you can do with a regular install to get around this, but Rufus did it nice and slick. And it turned off all the "privacy" stuff as well, turning off as much of the phoning home stuff as possible. Posted by: publius, Rascally Mr. Miley (Mzdiz) at December 15, 2023 02:18 AM (Mzdiz) 342

I'm actually feeling pretty special. I actually stumbled on a bug, a real bug, in Intel's latest whiz-bang Fortran compiler. The new one, IFX, is LLVM based. They are moving their C and Fortran compilers to LLVM back end. It was a code generation error, botching a function call. It wasn't in the front end, but the LLVM back end, and it got an official LLVM bug ticket and all that. Never thought that would happen to me, as they used to say in Penthouse Forum. I have Rufus (free) but have not explored all its capabilities. I just used it for boot USB sticks. Normally, when prepping a new Win installation, I have just unplugged the network cable or disabled wifi at the appropriate point and thus created a local account. That way Windows doesn't try and copy my personal stuff all over and nag me everyday. I also disable OneDrive. I don't use other people's servers for my storage. >> I have Rufus (free) but have not explored all its capabilities. I just used it for boot USB sticks.
This is with the latest versions. When you go to burn a Windows image, it will pop up those options. The local user account option will prevent you from having to unplug the network. With this latest Win11 version I installed, even then, without this Rufus trick, you have to drop to a command prompt, and issue some command, otherwise it won't install. Won't allow you to create a local account. Posted by: publius, Rascally Mr. Miley (Mzdiz) at December 15, 2023 02:38 AM (Mzdiz) 351
This happens with Pro version as well as Home with the latest Windows 11. With Windows 10 Pro, you could create a local account with the regular installer. It's difficult, but you could without unplugging the network or command line tricks. With Windows 11 Pro, that's gone as well. Intel's Fortan (and C/C++) compilers are now free. It's in the OneApi package. Install the free Visual Studio Community version, and the free OneAPI packages, and you've got a nice Fortran compiler. If interested, they are deprecating the classic C/C++ and Fortran compilers in favor of the new LLVM based ones. ----------- There was an "opinion" article in local paper, last week. It was authored by some (D) state-level rep., something about why she likes (FJB Brandon). Ok, but she wasted more digital ink spewing the latest anti-(R) talking points, than she did saying 'why she liked' FJB... Of course, the local D-rag prominently featured her vomitus on their front page. Posted by: JQ at December 15, 2023 03:59 AM (njWTi) 402
Some of the latest UEFI firmware will have a shell built right in. My system does not, and it has to be loaded from disk. Anyway, a UEFI shell is a command prompt that runs directly under the UEFI firmware. You can do all sorts of low level shit with this. This is before any OS is booted. Remember when people soft cursed by saying, "Oh Darn!"? but they meant DAMN? Well 'figgy puddin' is like when you say, I don't give a Fig while actually meaning you don't give a Fuck. They're asking for Fuckin' Puddin' is what I'm saying. Do I have to 'splain what Puddin' is? Posted by: Speller at December 15, 2023 11:39 AM (pSotA) Processing 0.08, elapsed 0.0805 seconds. |
