The Quotes of The Day

Quotes I

“You can't be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline - it helps if you have some kind of football team, or some nuclear weapons, but in the very least you need a beer.”Frank Zappa

Quote II

“You have to have a little bit of common sense. You’ve got to make a decision. Is this sincere? Is this device being used for what they’re saying? I think every American could use a little more training in disability understanding and disability etiquette.” Neil Romano, the former chairman of the National Council on Disability

Unfortunately, a majority of the TSA agents are knuckle dragging booger eating bullys. There's a reason they don't carry sidearms.

Quote III

"I did what I had to do to protect my store and my employees. I had no idea what she was capable of." Store owner Jeff Dennis

Chock one up for KARMA.

A member of the Turkish parliament collapsed from an apparent heart attack on Tuesday as he went on a tirade against the people of Israel, according to multiple reports.

The Times of Israel reported Hasan Bitmez was speaking before the Muslim country’s legislative body during a session on an unrelated matter when he decided to take his remarks off course.

As Bitmez discussed Israel’s ongoing war against Islamic terrorists in Gaza, he took aim at Jews in the region, saying, “You will not escape the wrath of Allah.”

Jewish Comedian Jerry Seinfeld Targeted by Pro-Hamas Protesters: ‘Complicit in Genocide’

Legendary Jewish-American comedian Jerry Seinfeld has been targeted by pro-Hamas protesters who accuse the TV sitcom star of being “complicit in genocide.”

The angry mob gathered outside the Landmark Theatre in Syracuse, New York to protest Seinfeld’s stand-up show over his support for Israel.

According to The Daily Orange, an independent student newspaper at Syracuse University, protesters called for Israel to stop defending itself against Hamas.

Yes, protesting a comedian and his audience half way around the world is the answer.

Instead of harrasing people who had nothing to do with the Hamas animals why not call them?

“If you want a real ceasefire, here is the right address,” he said, holding up a sign.

“This is the phone number of Hamas’ office in Gaza,” Erdan said. “You can all call +970-599373765 and ask for Yahya Sinwar. Tell Hamas to put down their arms, turn themselves in, and return our hostages. This will bring a complete ceasefire that will last forever.”

The sign stated, “For a Ceasefire dial +970-599373765,” and “Ask for Yahya Sinwar” alongside a photo of Sinwar.

If we really lived in a democracy we wouldn't be subject to unelected bureaucrats coming up with laws that are impossible to achieve currently.

Feds want anti-drunk-driving tech in cars — here’s what stands in the way

The in-car tech used by the likes of Ford and GM to make sure drivers pay attention to the road has come a long way. But it’s just not ready to help prevent or mitigate the damage done by drunk driving, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

That assessment is threaded throughout a new 99-page “advanced notice of proposed rulemaking” the agency released Tuesday, a sort of pit stop along the way to issuing regulations that would mandate in-car technology that could recognize when a driver has been drinking alcohol.

NHTSA is now asking for help determining what technologies should be built into cars to help mitigate or prevent it outright — in part because the agency says there are no commercially available options. After the notice is published to the Federal Register, the public will have 60 days to submit comments.

The dream of Henry Ford ever quickly dies. Henry Ford knew what the every man wanted. Now Ford Motor Co. dreams what every man should want. And the every man isn't having anything to do with that dream.

It turns out the shining star in the EV firmament Ford thought they had was actually more of a dwarf star, and rapidly turning into a black hole. Execs have unsheathed the corporate katana, and gone to work slashing away on the production numbers.

Ford Cuts Electric F-150 Plans in Ominous Sign for EV Market

Ford Motor Co. is cutting 2024 production goals in half for its F-150 Lightning plug-in pickup truck — its signature electric vehicle — due to slowing demand for battery-powered models.

The automaker now intends to build 1,600 of the trucks a week next year at its plant in Dearborn, Michigan, down from a previous plan to manufacture 3,200 weekly, a company spokeswoman said. Ford has been informing suppliers of the production cuts on a model Chief Executive Officer Jim Farley once said was “a test for adoption for electric vehicles” in America.

Their obligation is to feed, clothe and house you until you are 18. Stop being an ungrateful twat.

A woman who had to move back in with her parents explains why it's such a hassle to live with them.
“I feel like there are a lot of struggles with having to move back in with your parents after having lived on your own, but one of the biggest ones that’s been f------ with my mental health lately is my lack of privacy,” says a TikTok creator named Joyce in a video.

She explains that she’s not talking about her parents being intrusive if she's on the phone with a friend, or has someone over, but rather her personal privacy.

Filler material on an ONT? Never! Well Thursday and Friday nights don't count. Are you superstitious? If so here are some foods to avoid on News Year Eve.

More than any other holiday, New Year’s brings out our superstitious sides. Some people will try anything to shed their misfortunes from the previous 12 months and boost their chances of good luck in the year ahead. You may already cook the traditional New Year’s dishes for good luck, but you should also be avoiding these foods if want to cover all your bases. From chicken to lobster, consider leaving these unlucky food items off your New Year’s Eve and Day menus.

1. Catfish

Why do Muslims have to condemn Palestinian "atrocities against civilians" on October 7 when there is zero proof that any took place?!
Israeli officials, MSM and Zionists shouting that they happened do not constitute evidence. And Hamas go pro footage only shows soldiers being targeted and hostages being taken.
So show us the proof! If you do I will change my mind because I'm a reasonable person. But as long as you don't then I'm going to stick to what I've always said: Hamas targeted Israeli soldiers and captured hostages to bargain for Palestinian hostages, while non-combattants got killed in crossfire, mainly killed by the Israeli army.

My favorite comment regarding the British Civil Wars (as I would say they should be properly called, not to be *that guy*) came from Simon Schama, who wrote that during the warfare in Ireland they eventually began digging up corpses to extract the nitrate for producing gunpowder. He described it as "the most perfect example, I suppose, of a self-sustaining industry."

When you look back at the English Civil War, the astounding thing is that almost as soon as it starts, half of the people in every city in England came out and tried to murder the other half, and then the other half came out and tried to murder them back. That's what I imagine any "civil war" these days would look like.

140 Harris County, TX. The County Democrat Party just admonished it's own Soros D.A., Kim Ogg, against "waging vendettas" against other Harris County Democrat office holder(s). (...they mean Lina Hildago, Harris County Judge.)

One (d) party official went so far as to state, that Ogg ought not bring indictment or otherwise prosecute *any* democrat... "regardless of evidence".

In other words, carte blanche, up to and including Felony Murder. If (d), no worries, mate, Hall Pass!

Tomorrow's Houston talk radio is going to be Radio Active on this, but sadly, the Houston Chronicle (d), will likely endorse the Party Line.

But, as Ogg is being opposed by (d) Sean Teare (their "pretty boy" candidate), the County (d) party has JUST handed Ogg the Nomination and the Win, on this one issue, alone.

Just as many (R) votes helped put Whitmire over the top for Houston Mayor, Many MORE (R) votes need to ensure that Ogg holds office for at least the next term. Like Whitmire, Ogg is (IIRC), unopposed by an (R) candidate.

And that'll be the end of Lina Hildago and her little minions, too!

What's amazing is that in 1650, some were already talking about setting up a bicameral parliament and electing an executive. But the biggest mistake everyone else made was to allow the creation of an army that was not only the best army in the land, but also was loyal to only one man - not the king, not the people and not the parliament. Well that situation always ends the same way. And our Founders were very concerned with figuring out how to stop that from happening again.

Since I'm long retired, 6+ years so far, I can just obsess over current events.

Here is my "good news might be bad news" musing of the day. I swallow hard before I type this, but... I think the economy really is improving. Starting from a very low level, but nevertheless. The evidence comes from multiple data points. Basically, in sum, it looks like Powell may be achieving that soft landing he wanted.

The question is, is it too late to help His Senile Majesty or not? It's going to take a while for the good news to penetrate the lofo perception.

None of the good news changes the national glide path toward disaster, of course. Just postpones le deluge.

Who Killed the Electric Car?

Who Killed the Electric Car? is a 2006 American documentary film directed by Chris Paine that explores the creation, limited commercialization and subsequent destruction of the battery electric vehicle in the United States, specifically the General Motors EV1 of the mid-1990s. The film explores the roles of automobile manufacturers, the oil industry, the federal government of the United States, the California government, batteries, hydrogen vehicles and consumers in limiting the development and adoption of this technology.

I'm not an economy wonk so I can't say definitively one way or another. Inflation has slowed, at least when you look at things like gas, but how much of that is because of demand being destroyed?

205 Speaking of, I'll just leave this here for anyone who is keeping up at home. Joseph A. Ladapo, MD, PhD
State Surgeon General of Florida's letter to FDA last week:

"... To date, no response has been received. In addition to my previous letter, I am writing to
you to address the recent discovery of host cell DNA fragments within the Pfizer and Moderna
COVID-19 mRNA vaccines.

This raises concerns regarding the presence of nucleic acid contaminants in the approved Pfizer and
Moderna COVID-19 mRNA vaccines, particularly in the presence of lipid nanoparticle complexes, and
Simian Virus 40 (SV40) promoter/enhancer DNA. Lipid nanoparticles are an efficient vehicle for
delivery of the mRNA in the COVID-19 vaccines into human cells, and may therefore be an equally
efficient vehicle for delivering contaminant DNA into human cells. The presence of SV40
promoter/enhancer DNA may also pose a unique and heightened risk of DNA integration into host
cells. "

http://tinyurl.com/yon2a26u

All they censored was true. The MRNA shots are likely altering recipient's (and, usefully, offsprings) DNA. This cannot be discussed because flu shots, RSV shots, etc. are all supposed to be MRNA shots soon.

I assume this is part of the drive for trannies. If you can convince some percentage of low status men they are women...and other low status men to play along...you get less social disorder from some oligarch having a virtual harem.

well that's the age old Islamic model, isn't it. One guy gets a load of chicks because he has the money and wealth to support them, and the younger men are kept single and angry and frustrated and are pretty agreeable to going out and slaughtering and being slaughtered, because they hate their lives and there's nothing better for them to do. And for the Big Guy back home, well that's just a way to cull the competition and make room for a new batch of chumps.

Ha. One of the longest-lived modern cars I personally know is a Sentra. I'm guessing at the year but it's before they got lozenge shaped, so maybe early 2000s? It's got 400K or so miles on it and hasn't been washed since 200K if I had to guess. I think if you washed it you'd probably affect the integrity of the body panels. It's the cheapest most basic base model they sold, and that car refuses to quit.

Maybe not, but you could own an at that time modern ship of war, a frigate. Shipping companies had to protect their own shipping as a blue-water Navy was pretty non-existent. They taught us in grade school that the Civil War was "a sectional conflict, not a true 'civil war.'" In western Mo, it was no sectional conflict.

The film explores the roles of automobile manufacturers, the oil industry, the federal government of the United States, the California government, batteries, hydrogen vehicles and consumers in limiting the development and adoption of this technology.

Can't kill what was never born. GM made a limited number of EV1's, leased them out for a fixed term to selected consumers for a real-world test, and when the lease term was up, they collected the cars and destroyed them, as the plan had been all along. Some of the users liked them real well, and whined when the cars were recalled, but they all had signed on the dotted line.

Gas has dropped 3 cents per liter here in my corner of Alberta this week. I attribute this mainly to the Provincial government tinkering with gas taxes.

People remember a good economy. It doesn't matter what someone says. When folks spend $60 to fill their tank before not buying the $8 six pack of Coke, they know things suck.

And those prices aren't going down ever again. $8 six packs of Cokes are the baseline now. They'll only go up from here, and no one is getting 200% raises to keep up.

I'd love to set up license plate readers there.

'Cause most of the one-time customers in the drive thru will soon again, be going thru the drive through at the What-a-Burger, just across I-45, adjacent to the Wal-Mart store.

The In/Out product, though perfectly prepared, is bland. All of your Hidden Menu fixin's, can't make that meat or bun be NOT bland.

What-a-Burger, is not only very well seasoned, NOT bland, but also a 5" patty vs the In/Out 4".

Fries in both stores, long as you sit down and eat 'em THERE, are a tie. Take 'em home, and In/Out is a bit better.

Finally. You'll spend less at What-a-Burger, family order for family order.

In other words - just an AP feed.

When they put a Telemundo half naked weather babe skin on it,
that would be something.
Especially id they add a 'smart' remote where you can virtually undress her.

Buy 'em taste 'em, test 'em. You'll learn that my word is true. (unless you prefer slimy, seaweed based emulsified "milkshakes" which aren't really milkshakes)

You, sir, might be the Berserker, and blowtorch them in an instant.

But I am the one who would keep those parents alive for weeks, as I slowly flayed their hides, salting it every inch along the way.

And that's just the warm up act.

Serving them (and making them EAT) a freshly cooked lobe of their own liver is not out of the question.

No, there will be no fava beans nor a nice Chianti. A goblet of their own sweat and tears, is all that I might offer.

More, I shall not describe. But I have read from the Plains Indian Squaws, and the Afghan women who even Kipling advised to avoid, by the soldier eating that last .303 round, and Going to his God like a Soldier.

Such are the gifts I would bestow on those parents.

The blowtorch is far too quick, and merciful, things here which, I am not.

395 Dammit! Here I was planning a massive catfish spread and trying to come up with a good cocktail pairing. Because you know what every night of excessive drinking needs to add the perfect piquancy to the following morning? Tartar Sauce.

Thanks for the ONT.

Posted by: Aetius451AD at December 14, 2023 02:58 AM (di6C2)

396 I don't see a yellow headline.

397 Tartar sauce - mix Duke's mayo with dill relish. Easy peasy.

Posted by: Miley, okravangelist at December 14, 2023 03:00 AM (Mzdiz)

398 Maybe the headline is just on my phone, but it's:

Can We At Least Agree That Nobody — And Certainly No Republican — Cares About Hunter Biden’s ‘Struggle’?

Posted by: FenelonSpoke at December 14, 2023 03:05 AM (xJIjs)

399 Meant " yellow" headline.

Someone also suggest that Hunter write a book but that "My struggle"had already been taken some time ago.
