Olive and Mabel engage in tense match of take the bone from the other dog. Olive and Mabel are in a duel to see who can get the filthiest. A company Zoom call with the dogs. Here's a Times (UK) story about the guy and his dogs. He's actually a rugby and golf commentator. When Anthony Fauci's Chinese partners shut the world down, he started commentating his dogs. They also appeared on 60 Minutes Australia.

Spent a week in Finland one January. The sun would fully come up, sorta, at around 10 am and it would start going down around 2 pm. It never stopped snowing the whole week. It was fine light and powdery most of the time but it never stopped. And it was farking cold.
Never saw a single person smile. I think it might be illegal. Beautiful place but not exactly a barrel full of monkeys.

The Romanian/Transylvanian Churches are in fact Orthodox Christian, the Norwegian Stave Churches WERE similar but when the Protestants came in they burned all the imagery inside. There are what, half a dozen? Scandinavian wood churches left. Very few.
So the Norwegian Stave Churches used to number upwards of 2,000 but they are almost all gone.

It's got a valve cartridge packed with thermal wax, whose expansion and contraction with temperature changes is very precise.
The valve starts to open when water temperate drops to 37F. The colder it gets, the more it opens. Flow enough water to get the temp back up and it closes.

I could see the use for that on a standpipe located away from a heated building. I got a frost-free sill cock for my house here. The actual valve and seat is inside the house, which is heated. Works fine, no drips needed.

That's what I've got here to protect, a galvanized stand pipe some distance away from the house. I should've put in a frost-proof hydrant (same principle, actual valve is way down in the ground, and it drains back when the valve is shut off).
When they were building the house, the brick masons came a bit early, and were screaming for water right then. I just got a piece of galvanized pipe and stubbed it up of the water line I ran.
I need to dig the damn thing up and either replace it with a proper hydrant or just cap it off underground.

I did not know about this until I got to reading, but these thermal wax linear motors and actuators are used a lot, including in aerospace. Apparently, they have some very good "fail safe" properties compared to other types of actuators.

Auto engine thermostats are thermal wax pellets, mostly, although brass bellows filled with ether were also used. And some GM 4X4 pickups used a wax pellet thermal actuator for the front axle lockout. That was less than ideal is frigid weather. I remember taking one out on a company truck, and putting a stack of washers under it to keep the front axle fully engaged.

The original 4Runner had a 4 cylinder, maybe a 22RE. The V6 was a later innovation. They made a turbo-Diesel 4Runner for the world market which was a fine vehicle. Very peppy.

Toyota has been putting a gutless 4banger in their Hilux and 4Runners for a long time, these are for international markets, the idea that you are going to put a 4 cylinder in an American market 4Runner is absurd.
Also the leaked design looks like sh*t.

Yeah, this movie should've been out in 2019 or 2021, it would've done better. I honestly think he should have made a sequel, not a prequel. Who cares about the origin story, the Fury Road movie gave it to us with the leathery old feminists. tell us what she does next, either to protect the community she freed from Immortan Joe, or if she can do the same for someone else. Good to see Chris Hemsworth can get a non-Thor role though.
