Biden Announces $100 Million In "Humanitarian" Aid to Gaza, Of Course

Gaza was just caught stealing fuel from the UN's humanitarian relief reserves to fund its terror machine.

I'm sure this $100 million won't be used to make more dead children.

The President of the United States of America, Joe Biden, has announced $100 million for humanitarian assistance in Gaza.

In a post on his official X handle, the money would support over one million displaced and conflict-affected Palestinians.

"I just announced $100 million for humanitarian assistance in Gaza and the West Bank. This money will support over 1 million displaced and conflict-affected Palestinians. And we will have mechanisms in place so this aid reaches those in need -- not Hamas or terrorist groups," the post read.

Flashback to April:

The Biden administration announced on Wednesday it would provide $235 million in U.S. aid to the Palestinians, restarting funding for the United Nations agency supporting refugees and restoring other assistance cut off by then-President Donald Trump.

Secretary of State Blinken has already considered the 100% chance that Hamas will steal this humanitarian aid to fund their terror machine.

But don't worry, friends -- he's already thought of a perfect response.

He'll be "the first to condemn it" what that inevitability transpires.

That'll show 'em.

@Breaking911

SEC. BLINKEN: "The U.S. and Israel have agreed to develop a plan that will enable humanitarian aid from donor nations and multilateral organizations to reach civilians in Gaza, and them alone."

"If Hamas -- in any way -- blocks humanitarian assistance from reaching civilians, including by seizing the aid itself, we'll be the first to condemn it."

So when the US knowingly funds terrorist operations against an ally, don't worry -- we'll "be the first to condemn it" when what we're planning to happen in fact happens just as we planned.

Yay! We're saved!

Because, hey, look, we now have $100 million in play!

So what's that work out to? $25 million to the NGO cut-out grifters, $25 million to Hamas leadership, $15 million in kick backs to the politicians, and, of course, the 10% for the Big Guy?

That leaves $25 million for some kind of "humanitarian aid" whatever that means.

Okay, so two questions:
1. What if you can't define what a "civilian" is? In Gaza, this is not a straightforward problem.
2. What if you cannot achieve a plan that results in a high probability that aid will reach those "civilians" as defined?

If either condition cannot be met, is the aid withdrawn?

This is all purely rhetorical, of course. The answers are obvious.

Long internal investigation by OSU and the firm they hired cleared Jordan of knowledge but a few wrestlers disagree and the story persists. Particularly at election time.

Former President Donald Trump has once again criticized Israeli leadership, saying that the attack “wouldn’t have happened if they had a different president.”

While Israel’s president is Isaac Herzog, it is likely that Trump was referring to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu — whom he has been critical of over the last week.

“Terrible thing, it’s a shame,” Trump said. “We’ve got to get it working over there. It should’ve never happened. The attack on Israel should’ve never happened, and it wouldn’t have happened if they had a different president. I can tell you that.”

It looks like it's a UN adjunct, but it's clear as mud. From their site:
To secure principled and effective humanitarian response across the oPt, we rely on the generosity of donors.

Much of our funding is secured through contributions earmarked by donor states and the European Commission specifically for OCHA oPt. In addition, a number of donors provide unearmarked support to OCHA globally. We also welcome contributions from the private sector, foundations and individuals.

We would not be able to effectively carry out our mission of humanitarian coordination and advocacy to improve the lives of vulnerable Palestinians without the sustained generous contributions received from our partners.

So they're a laundromat for national "relief funds" for Palestine.

Yes, it is treated as part of the US and the same reason that sovereign leaders of another country cannot be arrested theoretically in another country. The whole imbroglio over Pinochet, UK, and Spain came brought up whether that applied to former heads of state as well.

Assuming that's correct - and who knows - it really puts the "Palestinian Aid" stuff into sharp relief.

Hundreds of millions or billions of dollars a year flow through that aid complex. Gaza's 2.1 million people are just under half of the "Palestinian" total (the West Bank has about 2.8 million). Assuming proportional distribution, a billion dollars' worth of aid comes out to $204 per Palestinian (and I doubt distribution is proportional - Gaza probably gets more than its "fair share" because it's such a shithole).

A billion-dollar aid year - not a record-breaker by any means - represents 23% of GDP if the number in Wikipedia is correct.

China is learning an age-old lesson when it comes to empire. The scheme of building infrastructure in territories you want to take over in order to turn the territory into a vassal after it is bankrupted is a strategy as old as time, and it can work out nicely for the imperialist.

But there is no way to do it if you have no mechanism for enforcement. Building infrastructure in a future vassal will just lose you money - and not gain you the vassal - unless you can take it. That requires a military - a real, boots-on-the-ground military - to enforce the repossession and take the territory associated with the infrastructure.

China thought it could do it just with financial and diplomatic pressure. It is learning otherwise.

@CassandraRules

Posted by: BruceWayne at October 18, 2023 03:32 PM (CIS44)

It doesn't really matter in any state. Lots of people around here are furiously hoping DeSantis or somebody else is going to be "the answer," but that's not even really the question.

The question is, does voting matter at all, especially for President? If you vote, will you have any say in what comes next, even IF your candidate wins?

The other thing a lot of people around here don't seem to get, is that EVERYONE in DC is aligned against Trump for a reason. It's not for mean tweets, it's not for "grab her puthy," it's not even because he is wrong on any one policy or another.

It's that he's not in on the grift. He may have his own grift, but the one they're all in on, he's not. That's how he threatens them.

Me, personally, I'd like to see him nominated, just to see what they come up with to try to stop him.

Posted by: BurtTC at October 18, 2023 03:41 PM (dGCAG)

368 But how long are we to hold our fire on Bibi as we're coming up on a week since the attack and the Israeli response has been .... a few air strikes?

He's dillied and dallied while Hamas has gathered their propaganda allies to, so far, forestall all but a limited response.

Where is the "Hamas still be no more" that was promised by one of his staff?

I mean, FFS, his government just spent the last 24 hours defending themselves from the lie that they bombed a hospital. That was actually caused by a missiles that never would have been launched if he hadn't been delaying the invasion. And a hospital that wouldn't have been in a war zone if "Hamas [was] no more."

Sort of. Associated with it, though, were two things:
1. A credible military threat if you stepped out of line. Our empire was not one of territory, but of influence. You could stick us with bill but *only* if you didn't piss us off too badly otherwise. Play ball, get paid.
2. We put different strings on it especially when it came to economic disaster aid through the IMF. You put *our* people and companies at the front of the line, and let them skim off the payment and remain in-place during recovery.

We were playing a different version of the game.

391 Their findings revealed that the movement of Earth’s continents during the Cretaceous period caused a slowdown in the large swirling ocean currents responsible for carrying warm water from the equator to the poles. This slowdown disrupted the way the ocean regulated its surface temperatures, resulting in a significant increase in temperature differences between the poles and the tropics during that time. These findings align with geological evidence from the Cretaceous era, providing a more comprehensive understanding of past climate dynamics.

"If Hamas keeps these away from *civilians* I'll condemn it"

But all of Hamas, being terrorists and not a regular army of a state, are civilians. That's why terrorists violate the laws of war, they mix the distinction of civilians, who you try not to kill, and combatants, who you do kill.

So Blinken knows that Hamas will turn over the stuff to the fighters, they are civilian too.

If the EU nations and NATO combine to neglect their ability to project power while acting in ways that provoke conflicts then that's no benefit to us.
