NBC "News" Poll:59% Have Major Concerns About Biden's Cognitive Ability; Another 15% Have "Moderate" Concerns

For a total of a gigantic supermajority of 74% expressing moderate or major concerns that Biden is senile and unable to function as president.

There's a reason they kept Basement Joe in the basement.

Three-quarters of voters say they're concerned about President Joe Biden's age and mental fitness, while nearly two-thirds have concerns about the multiple trials former President Donald Trump faces, a new national NBC News poll finds, casting a gloomy shadow over the upcoming 2024 presidential election.
The poll also shows Trump expanding his national lead in the Republican presidential nominating contest to more than 40 points over his nearest competition, and it has Biden and Trump deadlocked in a hypothetical rematch more than a year before the general election.
Yet what also stands out in the poll are the warning signs for Biden beyond his age -- including an all-time high disapproval of his job performance, fewer than 4 in 10 voters approving of his handling of the economy and lagging interest in the election among key parts of the Democratic base.
"This survey is a startling flashing red light for an incumbent party," said Republican pollster Bill McInturff of Public Opinion Strategies, who conducted the poll with Democratic pollster Jeff Horwitt and his team at Hart Research Associates.
But Trump and Republicans have their own challenges -- such as the GOP front-runner's overall unpopularity with the general electorate, as well as how Trump galvanizes the political opposition, including those who have reservations about Biden.
"Yes, the numbers for Biden aren't where he needs them to be," said Horwitt, the Democratic pollster. "But the lens for most voters is still through Donald Trump first."

I remember the last campaign & hearing "transitional Pres" used. It was assumed by most that he meant 1 term; thats how I took it. But then no one stepped up to be viewed as the "next up". There's a definite difference between '20 & today but nobody wants to admit that. Approval for the VP isnt good either & that factors into those who think "too old" is an issue.

When it becomes clear he’s the candidate, I think a lot of these same people will ultimately vote for Biden. But, and this is where those remarkably consistent low approval ratings come in, he will not recapture all of them.

It's hard to imagine that Republicans could be losing in 2024 given the public sentiment.

With that said, if elections aren't real, none of this really matters.

I want to think they are real in my heart, because that means there is an opportunity to reverse course peacefully.

But everything my eyeballs see and my brain deciphers tells me elections are manipulated and on top of that, the the Republican Party doesn't have plans that are fundamentally different on most levels than Democrats.

I think even if Trump wins, and my heart is correct, it's doubtful that the Senate and House Republicans really want to turn away from their corporate masters that desire cheap labor and greater profits and their MIC masters that desire forever war.

I just don't see any way out of it at this point. The cancer has spread too far and the tumors are too big.

I don't know what's on the other side. None of us does. Things are going to be tough for the next 10-20 years, at least. Gird your loins, especially if you live in one of the major cities. But I'm optimistic that on the other side there will be a smaller federal government focused on priorities with a greater balance of federalism and that the red states turn out to be the demographic winners.

Do you remember the Roman emperor Claudius? See the old TV show "I, Claudius" if you do not. He also was elevated to emperor for the very same reason. They figured he was stupid, and thus easily fooled and controlled. It urns out, Cladius was faking it, and took charge. Biden is not faking it. Because he is not capable of being in charge, the lunatics who put him there are now running the asylum. Unfortunately, they all want to be in charge, and they all can't be, so little gets done.

This problem has always been solved in the past. The most ruthless of the bureaucrats takes charge as dictator. After all, if Biden can be put "in charge" using violence, instead of votes, the most ruthless can do so even more.
