The artist's name, Tissot, suggests France. Paris and Rouen, for instance, are fairly far north. (Berlin, I was surprised to discover, is on the same latitude as *Labrador*.) So it could be fairly cool in late September.

What is Yom Kippur?
Yom Kippur means “Day of Atonement.” It is the holiest and most solemn day of the Jewish year and is a fast day. According to tradition, at the end of Yom Kippur, God “seals” our fates for the coming year (i.e., whether we will be inscribed in the Book of Life). The main themes of this day are sin, repentance (teshuvah) and atonement.
Yom Kippur is observed on the 10th day of the Hebrew month of Tishrei. In 2023, that corresponds to the evening of Sunday, September 24 until the evening of Monday, September 25.
The day before Yom Kippur, the last meal (aka. the se’udah hamafseket) must be eaten before sundown. Candles are also lit with the blessing “l’hadlik ner shel yom hakipurim.” Additionally, if one’s parent or parents are deceased, a special memorial candle (called a ner neshama) is lit in their memory and burns for the entire holiday.

The plot of no one being to pull off the "drop the one roommate and date the other" was hilarious; and then with George's 'successful' version, seeing him run away. [Although I can't recall now if that was one episode or two, several weeks apart.]

Without those Paolo sessions she's gone kind of bonkers and taken it out on Howard who is now even more neurotic and puerile.

He also went bonkers. He was funny in small doses back when things that were shocking were funny. Now nothing is shocking so he's just annoying and way, way too old to do the "aren't I cool" schtick.

I didn't hear that but do know --most of her costars really disliked her. Richard Gere, Shirley Mclaine, etc. but maybe that's a mark in her favor. I think she stopped getting work because of her reputation.

So yeah, he was taking the bars and converting them to cash or taking cash and converting them to bars as hold of value to be parceled out as needed.
